    Zemo and Aleksander are both high up in the military ranks.
    They are also best friends.
    When Zemo notices his friend becoming cold and distant more and more, in the years following being taken by the enemy, he knows he has to do something to make sure he doesn't lose the only person in his life he cares about.
    To say Aleksander is shocked when Zemo says he wants Aleksander to submit to him, so as not to lose him, would be an understatement.
