It was one of the warmer days of the week and the sun was shining brightly, but Hyungu preferred to stay under a tree where there was enough shade to keep him cool. Yonghoon didn’t mind wherever they went, so he ended up in the shade as well.
Having not gotten much sleep, which wasn't something uncommon, Yonghoon would begin drifting off into brief naps every few minutes or so. Hyungu told him multiple times that it was okay, that they could go home if he wanted, but Yonghoon said no each time.
“Then just rest here, you need sleep,” with a reluctant sigh, Yonghoon laid his head down on Hyungu’s shoulder and wrapped his arms around his waist from the side.
Hyungu had forgotten to bring a book and wasn’t too interested in his phone, so he sat there, bored, as Yonghoon rested on his shoulder. Hyungu knew that Yonghoon had officially fallen asleep when his arms loosened around his waist and he relaxed a bit more. Not knowing how long Yonghoon would be out, he decided to at least try to find something on his phone to keep himself occupied.
Only fifteen minutes had passed and Yonghoon had woken back up. He could easily fall asleep but could never stay asleep for long periods of time.
“How long has it been?”
“Not that long… maybe a little under twenty minutes?” Hyungu guessed, having not fully kept track of the time. Yonghoon sighed in frustration and switched positions to where he was laying on his back over Hyungu’s legs. He found this position comfortable as it gave him the ability to stretch out after hunching over for that shortish period of time. Hyungu decided on which hand he wanted to have free and decided it to be his dominant one. With his left hand, he held Yonghoon’s and he quickly fell back asleep.
A good thirty minutes went by, and Yonghoon woke up yet again. “How—”
“Thirty minutes,” Hyungu was counting this time. Yonghoon sighed again. Giving up, he sat back up next to Hyungu where he was sitting before his short naps and laid his head down on Hyungu’s shoulder once more, not letting go of his hand. He lifted his head briefly to give Hyungu a peck on the cheek. Hyungu was quick to turn before Yonghoon laid his head back down to get a quick peck on his lips.
“When we started dating, I didn’t sign up for chicken pecks,” Yonghoon joked, though there was some sincerity to it. He sat up, held Hyungu’s face with the hand he had free and pressed his lips to Hyungu’s. Even after how many times they had kissed, Hyungu still couldn’t help but get flustered every time it happened, but he never got tired of the butterflies each and every kiss gave him. They told him that he still loved Yonghoon and he hoped to never stop feeling this way.
Yonghoon pulled away shortly, though it lasted much longer than a peck. “I can’t believe you still blush at that,” Yonghoon teased. “If that gets you flustered, what about—” he began to lean in for another kiss, implied to be a bit more intense than the last, but Hyungu curved him.
“Jin Yonghoon, we are in public!” his eyes had widened a bit and the blush on his face had deepened.
“I was kidding~”
“Yeah, right,”
“I love you,” Yonghoon hummed, laying his head back down on Hyungu’s shoulder as he played around with Hyungu’s fingers.
“I love you, too,” Hyungu said in a much more annoyed tone, though, of course, he still meant every word.
