Work Text:
Midoriya was the first one to wake up between the two of them, blinking a few times but straining his eyes due to the rising sunrise that was leaking through their bedroom window. He looked over to his side to check the time on his All Might alarm clock and sighed when he saw that it was only a little after seven in the morning. It was a weekend, and he and his boyfriend had finally had a day that they could spend together in peace and not have to work opposing shifts from each other. Knowing that he had promised Kirishima to relax today and not keep himself busy, Midoriya decided to slide back into the bed to try and drift back off to sleep.
“What time is it?” He heard a hoarse voice say on his side, and when he looked over, he saw that Kirishima was staring up at him with sleepy eyes that also were trying to keep the sun out of them. Midoriya chuckled and ran his hand through his red hair with a smile.
“Oh no, did I wake you up babe?” He asked with a hum. Kirishima shook his head with a yawn and laid on his chest.
“Nah, I've actually had to use the bathroom for the past few minutes and have been avoiding it.”
“Ah,” Midoriya muttered quietly. He sunk down in the bed and adjusted Kirishima’s head on top of his chest. “Well, it’s only seven-twenty-three, and we both know that’s too early for you on your day off so go back to sleep.” He mumbled through a giggle just above a whisper in volume. Kirishima groaned into his tank top and flipped over to his other side.
“Mmm. That also means that you can’t leave my side this morning either, babe. 'Means you’re clocking out with me, too.”
“I don’t plan on leaving your side at all today, Ei.” Midoriya said before kissing the top of Kirishima’s temple. He was still running his hand through his hair, humming an off tune as his boyfriend slowly began to drift back off to sleep on top of him once he was confident enough knowing that Midoriya wasn't going to leave him or bed any time soon. As an extra security measure though Kirishima wrapped his arms around Deku's gorgeously sculpted waist and hugged him tight and nuzzled into his navel. “Babe, you’re going to make me have to pee if you hold me any tighter.” Midoriya laughed as he playfully nudged his shoulder. “Should we both just go to the restroom now so that we can be comfier in each other’s arms?”
“Mng, I’m comfy like this on your tummy now, Izuku,” Kirishima whined, but already lifted his head up and off of Deku. “Ugh, why does the call of nature always get in the way in the most annoying of times?”
“I know I know, but come on, let's go so we can get back.” He said and right after, the couple got out of bed and marched straight into the bathroom, hand in hand, to do their typical morning rituals. Midoriya knew that his boyfriend almost always forgot to pee the night before so he let him use the toilet first. While Kirishima hovered over the toilet, Deku got out his mechanical toothbrush from the mirror and squeezed his All Might Cavity Fighting™ toothpaste from its tube and onto the bristles. He sleepily brought his toothbrush to his mouth and started cleaning every square inch of it as he and Kirishima started discussing what they would eat for breakfast when they eventually did get out of bed. Afterwards he rinsed his mouth out with mouthwash and dried both his mouth and hands, before swapping spots with Kirishima. They both rinsed and repeated what the other just did, and once done, they both raced to get back under the covers and into each other’s arms.
Mornings like today made Deku the happiest, not having the stress of the vicious and competitive world breathing down his neck at every second of the day nor the constant need to concern himself with configuring the identity of the current villain that he and his agency were plotting after. He didn’t have to keep up with his old classmates turned hero peers with the headlines, and there was no need to make sure that none of them ever got the chance to one-up him in a sparring match without putting up a fight.
No, on mornings like this one, he was not an One for All user, and Kirishima was not his strong and independent shield. Rather, today he was Midoriya Izuku, the man who was Kirishima Eijirou’s boyfriend of two years and moved out of UA and into an apartment with him a year prior to. They were two young men with no exact plans prepared other than sticking next to one another for the following 24 hours from that moment on. Today they would be spending the morning in each other’s arms, without the weight of the world on their shoulders. Instead of wondering which shift they had to take on at work and whether or not they would be leaving or coming home in the middle of the night, they were more concerned of which coffee they would be brewing when they finally got out of bed and started their lazy Saturday. They didn’t have to think about the P.T test they had coming up but instead how many rounds of smash bros it would take for them to break their stalemate of 5 ties in a row. Days like this did not come often for Kirishima and Midoriya due to their importance to, for, and in their city, and ever-changing schedules; so when it did, the two of them made sure that they would make the most of it.
“Izuku you’re doing it again.” Kirishima mumbled softly, and it brought Deku out of his train of thought. His hand was still rummaging mindlessly through the redhead’s hair, but his pace had slowed down.
“Doing what, Ei?” he asked with one arm tucked behind his head. Kirishima hovered his own and peaked over Deku’s chest with a small pout forming on his lips.
“You’re concerning yourself with things that don’t matter right now, instead of going back to sleep with me.”
“You act as if you know me,” Deku replied jokingly, and he stuck his tongue out for good measure. Kirishima rolled his eyes with a smile before rising up to meet his eyes at the same height and placing a short and sweet kiss on his lover’s lips. When they separated, Deku stared at him with half lidded eyes. “What was that for?”
“You’re so beautiful and sometimes I have to do that to remind myself that you’re all mine. That,” Kirishima said before lying back down and crawling under the blanket with his hands stretched out to him. “And I know it’s a surefire way to get you out of your head. Now come on babe.”
Midoriya could only smile back as he crawled into Kirishima’s hold and silently thanked the gods for having such a beautiful man inside and out to wake up to. It was a breath of fresh air having someone that took the time to learn about him rather than the other way around, and this made him feel both important and loved. He didn’t know how he was even able to get so lucky to get with Kirishima in the first place, he was sure that Kacchan would’ve gotten to him first.
It seemed that for the first time in his young life, when it came down to Kirishima Eijirou, Midoriya Izuku had finally won first place.
