Work Text:
It’s been a year since the whole showdown with Olivia and now Wilbur was getting married. Even though he really didn’t need to, he wanted to get it over with. He found Sally at a park playing with the dogs that came with their owners. He will admit she is very beautiful and funny but he didn’t really care for her or what would happen to her. He just wanted to get this whole thing done.
---
“Sally!”
Sally turned around and smiled brightly when she saw who yelled her name and ran over to her. Tommy Craft, the sweetheart of the Craft family. He was like the embodiment of sunshine and everything bright and was always full of love. She laughed loudly when Tommy launched at her for a hug and spun him around. Sally was getting married to his older brother Wilbur, and she must say he is quite an attractive man, but she loves Tommy more than everyone in their family. From the beginning Tommy has made her feel comfortable and included her in things. He even invited her to do things outside of the family!
“Sunflower! What are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to watch the little ones.” Tommy looked up at her with a smile shining brightly on his face and hugged her tighter. “I got Tubbo and Ran to do it. Told them I was going to check on the cows.”
Sally laughed lightly and kissed his forehead. “Oh you sneaky thing. I’m glad you’re here with me, I was getting lonely.” Sally loved this boy more than anything.
“Yes I thought it was a good diversion.”
“It was sunflower.”
Tommy’s smile dimmed and he looked at her with sadness and worry. She didn’t like this look on her sunflower, the one bright thing in her life. “What’s wrong Tommy? Why so blue, hm?”
“I don’t want you to go.”
“Go?” Now she was confused? Wilbur and her weren’t going on a honeymoon or celebrating after the wedding. They both didn’t want to and just wanted to celebrate with his, well soon to be her family.
“You need to run while you can. Get away from here!” Tommy whispered, his face looked panicked and scared. He didn’t want to see her die or have to bury her. He was the only one that cared about her and he likes her! She became his sister and he doesn’t want to see her go.
“Sunflower what-”
“Thought I might find you in here.” The two of them turned around and saw Techno standing in the doorway of Sally’s room. Tommy shrunk into Sally because he knew that Techno heard him and what he was trying to do. Sally held him tighter and looked at Techno with a blank face. Techno glared at her but softened when he looked at his baby brother.
“Mother wants to see you treasure.”
“No.” Tommy said into Sally’s shoulder. He didn’t want to leave. He wanted to stay with Sally and spend as much time as he could before they killed her.
“Excuse me?”
“He said no.” Sally said. She didn’t know what was going on but if Tommy didn’t want to go then he wouldn’t.
“Tommy, mom won’t be happy.”
Tommy finally looked at him with a blank face and gave him an icy glare. He looked exactly like their father and Techno was surprised at this. Tommy looked like a true Craft at this moment. “I don’t give a flying fuck. I’m staying with Sally.” Techno stared at them for what felt like forever and just grunted at them and walked away. Sally looked away from the doorway to Tommy and scrunched her eyebrows trying to rack her brain for a reason why Tommy could be acting like this. “What’s wrong Toms?”
Tommy sighed, “I just wanna spend time with you before you get married, that's all. You’ll be with Wilbur after this.”
“Oh my sunflower, everything will be okay.” Sally smiled softly at him and slowly sat them down on her vanity chair and cuddled him close. “No matter what sunflower I will always make time for you and be with you. Plus I don’t think your hunk of a brother likes me very much anyways.”
Tommy scrunched his nose at her when she called Wilbur a ‘hunk’. Gross. “Then why are you marrying him?” Sally smiled and rested her cheek on his head. “I don’t think I could bear leaving you, darling. You are my little brother Toms, someone I love taking care of and being near. You make my day brighter. I love gardening with you, taking care of Clem and Henry. I like Wilbur of course but I don’t think I love him. He hasn’t put much time or energy into our relationship.”
Tommy nodded and snuggled in to her. He always found her presence calming. He's really worried for tonight. Tubbo and Ranboo get really jealous when he spends time with Sally, they think she’s taking him away from them. Clingy fucks. He accepted their proposal and made sure to spend time with them and be with them. Tommy doesn’t think he could survive without those clingy fucks. While the others were also upset he was spending time with Sally they were also happy he made a friend. He isn’t very social and likes to stay home and garden or watch his children.
“Thomas.”
Tommy let go of Sally and looked at the once empty doorway but now his mother stood there in all her glory. She was in a flowy purple dress with white roses sewed in with his amazing sewing skills. There was no hat on her head since she was inside and her usual jewelry. She was wearing the flower crown he made her earlier. “Hi momma.”
“Dearheart, why did Techno come back without you?”
Tommy pouted and Kristen only smiled at him. “You are just going to scold me.”
“Oh dearheart never. I just wanted your opinion on the flowers on the pews. The florists got the wrong ones I think.” Tommy stood up from his seat and yelled. “They didn’t get the pink roses and the lavender?” Sally smiled up at him and pushed him towards his mother. “Go handle that Toms, I have to finish getting ready anyways.”
Tommy huffed at her and gave her a hug before grabbing his mom's hands and leaving. Sally smiled and shook her head at him and went back to getting ready for later.
---
“This is all so fucking stupid!” Tommy yelled out. The usual bright boy was angry and frustrated. He doesn’t understand why they must do this when a year ago they killed Olivia.
“Tommy, you understand why this needs to happen. Mom-”
“Oh shove it Techno. Mom has another nine years before the same shit needs to fucking happen. Sally doesn’t need to fucking die. Don’t know why she wants to marry Wilbur, he's nothing but an asshole and a dick to her!” Tommy interrupted his brother. With how he was pacing he was going to burn a hole in the ground.
Kristin and Phil just sat and let this happen. They knew Tommy needed to let this all out and they let him.
“It’s not our fault you got attached to the bitch.” Tubbo said, frustrated that his fiance was so attached to some girl and was so worried about her.
Tommy stopped moving mid-step and clenched his fists. Quackity eyes widened and he stepped back away from the bomb that was about explode. Everyone else followed suit except for Tubbo and Ranboo who didn’t recognize what he just did.
A knife flew by Tubbos head cutting his ear a tiny bit and some hair was falling to the ground. Blood dripped slowly from the cut from the knife that Tommy just threw. Tommy slowly turned around, his eyes in a fierce glare. His bright blue eyes were like ice, cold and angry. “What did you just fucking say to me? How fucking dare you!”
Tubbo looked panicked now that he registered what he did.
“Tommy I-”
“No! Listen here dipshit. It is not my fault if I make a friend and spend time with someone else that is not fucking you or Ranboo! I am fucking allowed to make friends. It is such bullshit! I have explained so many times to you and Ranboo that I love you guys and would never put someone else above you! I made sure to spend time with you both and make sure you don’t feel left out. So I am so fucking sorry if I made a friend that you all hate.”
Tubbo opened his mouth but Tommy continued on his rant, “But guess what? I do not give a flying fuck what you think! I will continue to hang out with Sally and treat her with kindness unlike fuckface Wilbur over there!”
Tommy stormed out of the family room and slammed the door shut behind him. Kristin smirked and looked at all the plants that grew with Tommy’s anger. Vines with thorns were all over where Wilbur, Techno and Tubbo and Ranboo were. But on the other side, where the rest were at, were flowers and all things nice.
Phil was proud of son. Tommy never once has acted out like that and always kept his outbursts to himself. He was proud that his son put them in their place.
The four were practically shaking in their boots. Tommy didn’t look like their usual bright sunshine, he was cold and looked so much like Phil when he was angry. Maybe even worse.
---
The whole I do’s was over and now it was the party. Sally sat by herself at the table that was designated for her and Wilbur but he was sitting with his family instead. She sighed and drank more of her sprite that she requested since she wasn’t that big on alcohol. “Hi Sal!” Ah there he was. Tommy popped into the seat next to hers with Shroud on his hip. “Hello sunflower.”
“You look so freaking pretty!” Tommy won’t curse near his special, lovely children. Their innocent ears don’t need to hear such words or repeat them.
Sally smiled and thanked him. Her family didn’t show up to the wedding since they didn’t approve of Wilbur but she didn’t mind. Sally and her family didn’t have a good relationship anyways.
“Are you having fun so far Tom?”
Tommy nodded his head and wiped some juice from Shrouds mouth. “ Yeah I am. Having a better time than I did at Techno’s wedding and let me tell you. That was a shit show.”
Sally glanced at her now brother-in-law and looked back at the pouting Tubbo and Ranboo. “Techno is married?”
Tommy froze. He slipped up.
“Was. He was married. They got divorced not that long ago, knew it wouldn’t last.”
“Oh, how unfortunate.”
Tommy shrugged and glared at his pouting fiances.
“What’s up with them?” Sally questioned. Tommy rolled his eyes and gave Shroud a piece of strawberry. “They couldn’t keep their mouths shut and said something that was out of line. I yelled at them.”
Sally smiled, “Ah they got a piece of the infamous Tommy scolding?” Tommy blushed and ducked his head. “It happened one time Sally! One time!”
“One time too many sunflower. I think you made that saleswoman pee herself.”
“Good. She shouldn’t have said those things to you.”
“Dearheart. It’s time.”
Tommy sighed and sadly looked at Sally. “Come on Sal time for the family tradition.”
Sally nodded and followed behind him. He led her to a room she hasn’t seen before and noticed she hasn’t seen this part of the manor before. Now that she thinks about it, she hasn’t explored the manor at all. Tommy held the door open for her and closed it behind him when they entered. Everyone was sitting around the table in their spots and waiting for them.
Sally sat next to Wilbur and looked behind her when she noticed Tommy wasn’t sitting at the table. He was in the same spot, he was just standing there holding the two little ones. They were snuggled into him as if they could sense their mothers distress.
“I refuse to be a part of this. Any mess you make you will clean up yourselves. Anything that gets destroyed or broken you shall clean up and fix yourself. I will not support this one. Goodnight.” Tommy turned around to leave but was stopped when arms wrapped around him.
“Goodnight sunflower. See you tomorrow morning!” Sally gave him a sweet smile and went to sit back down. Tommy was frozen. He looked as if he was about to cry and Kristin gave him a sad smile before he left.
“Well let’s get started shall we?”
---
Sally got up from the floor and took Wilbur’s arrow that he tried to shoot her with and stabbed him in the thigh and ran. She smiled when she heard him scream from the pain and continued on running. Sally understands now what Tommy was trying to tell her earlier. He wanted her to escape while she could. That’s why he was so upset throughout the day. He knew his family was going to kill her. They could try.
She won’t go out without a fight. She needed to say goodbye one last time to Tommy before they did catch her. All she had to do was find his room.
She ducked behind a statue when she heard noises coming from down the hall. “Where the fuck is she Ranboo?”
“I don’t know Bo. Should we even be doing this? Tommy is going to be so mad at us if we go through with this.”
Tubbo said nothing and continued down the hall with Ranboo following behind him all sad looking. He didn’t want to hurt his treasure’s friend.
Once they were gone Sally popped her head out and looked both ways to see if anyone else was coming and got out from her hiding spot and went back to running. She also knows that Techno didn’t get divorced. They probably killed her the day they got married. She does remember a news report about a woman gone missing. Her name was Ollie? No, it was Olivia and they still haven’t found her. Well looks like they are never going to since she is dead.
She will admit that they have gotten her pretty good. She has multiple cuts on her arms and face and what looks to be a stab wound on her thigh? She doesn’t know. Her dress was dirty and bloody. It was ripped and her hair was no longer elegant looking; it looked like a rat's nest.
She stopped running when she saw one of the Craft’s maids walking across the hall from her. It looked like she was holding a knife? A gun maybe? She decided to follow the maid and stopped when the maid stopped in front of a door.
It was Tommy’s door. There were flowers covering the doorway and walls. The maid busted into the room and started yelling. The kids were crying and she could hear Tommy calmly talking back to her. The maid was going to kill her sunflower.
Oh hell no.
Looking around for any type of weapon, there was an axe in a knight's hold a couple doors down. She ran to it and yanked the axe out and ran back to Tommy’s room. She sneakily stepped into his room and Tommy looked at her before looking back at the screaming maid. Sally nodded her head at him and Tommy covered his children's eyes as Sally raised the axe and swung down onto the maid. She kept hitting her until she knew she was dead. Now Sally looked like a bloody mess.
“Why didn’t you fight back!” Sally said as she dropped the axe onto the maids' dead body.
Tommy looked at her with the trembling kids in his arms and that’s when he realized. Sally cared for him, she loved him and would do anything to protect him. Now Tommy is going to protect her from his family.
“Blood is a pain to wash out. It’s a mess too.”
Sally nodded her head in agreement and hugged him and the little ones. “I wanted to find you and say goodbye before they killed me.”
Tommy looked determined and was thinking before he said, “I won’t let them kill you. I won’t let them.”
Tommy gave her Shroud and took her hand in his and marched them to the room where he last saw Sally. He left a trail of flowers that would let his family follow it and allow them to find them both.
When the family busted into the room they saw Tommy standing in front of them and a dome of vines with thorns that must have been holding Sally and the children. Tommy had a sword in his hand and a crossbow in the other. “If you come closer I will not hesitate to shoot one of you.”
“Tommy put the weapons down.” Wilbur said. “No. I won’t let you kill her.”
“Theseus-”
“Enough.” Kristin said, raising a hand telling them to stop. “Dearheart, what happened? You have blood on you!” Kristin said as she moved closer to her son fretting over him. Tommy would never shoot his mother, he loves her too much and adores her. “One of the maids tried to kill me and the kids. Sally killed the bitch of a maid. She protected me momma. You have to stop them, please.”
Kristin smiled and continued to wipe the blood off her precious son. “I know flower. I won’t let them. Now bring the dome down, yes?”
Tommy nodded and let the dome fall showing a bloody and messy Sally holding the hands of the two toddlers. “Sally dear, come here please.” Kristin said. Sally walked over to the mother and son duo and let the toddlers run to their mothers, hugging his legs. Kristin hugged her tight and let go. “Thank you for protecting my darling. I don’t know what I would do if he got hurt or worse.”
Sally smiled and nodded, “Of course! I would do anything for Tommy.” Kristin eyed her and looked back at her family and told them to stand down and put their weapons down. “Tommy, would you be so kind and show Sally her new room? I’m sure she would like to get cleaned up.” Tommy smiled brightly at his mother and took Sally’s hand and ran out of the room.
“You always give in to him, my dear.” Kristin smiled and leaned into her husband and watched her other sons put their stuff away. She would have to give them a talk later, maybe tomorrow instead. She was quite exhausted from the events of today.
“He’s my baby Phil, of course I give in to him. It makes him so happy.”
“Yes it does my love, yes it does.”
