Yanqing blushed stammering “N-nothing, General.” And he flinched back when all his caretaker did was cross his arms. “I just…” There was no getting out of this. Was there? Sighing, he held the wooden blade to his chest “I found this in one of the closets and wanted to try practicing like you do…”

Summary
Yanqing of the Cloud Knights was a prodigy - there was no denying that. He had mastered the art of the sword, even able to wield multiple swords at once, was a Lieutenant to the same Cloud Knights and had defeated multiple powerful monsters.
But what everyone, including Yanqing himself, failed to realise was that he was a child. A child who craved attention and validation. A child whose ambitions shone so brightly they blinded everyone who was made known of them.
But what the child failed to realise was that no matter how good and skilled a person may be, there would always be that someone who was better than him. And when those people knocked Yanqing off his self-built pedestal, he fell, and he fell hard.
