Sometimes, Poe still had to pinch himself... just a bit.
They had left early that morning, "To avoid traffic," Din had said as he pressed a morning-breath-kiss into the corner of his mouth. Poe laughed and shoved Din's smiling face away indignantly.
Grogu had still been dozing and only cooed sleepily as Poe secured the baby carrier on Din's back and watched the little one's face immediately dissapear into the soft fabric of Din's fluffy jacket.
It was Din's idea to go hiking that day. Peli had told them they were crazy: Hiking with a toddler, don't ya come running when ya'all are tired and covered in baby spew!
They did not come running, Grogu, in very untypical fashion for the little rascal, slept through the morning and only complained around 10 a.m. when they were having their first break of the day. It was nice, no lectures, no responsibilities. Just them and their Kid.
Now, Poe doesn't pinch himself, instead, he fishes out his old iphone from his back pocket.
"Hey, sweetheart," Poe says.
Din Turns around.
"I love you."
