Work Text:
After a three-hour advanced course on algebra the only thing Poe can think of is a nap. And a shot of espresso. Maybe two. He checks his watch while the class is trying to solve an equation, which is funny to him because no one seems to notice the catch he purposefully put in there. The equation was impossible to solve, but the students were too focused to realize it. "Will they ever learn," Poe wonders, then sighs. Of course they will, eventually. He had faith in them.
He decides to end the class ten minutes earlier, the entire lecture hall sighs in relief and so does Poe. He gathers his books, puts his other things in his shoulder bag and leaves the hall before a student calls out to him in the hallway.
"Excuse me, sir... Is the equation fake?" They ask while walking next to him.
"Smartass," Poe thinks. "It is. Good job for noticing," he replies, giving them a thumbs-up. He can't helps smiling as he feels someone sneaking behind him.
"Looking pretty good," Din whispers in his ear in a playful but sincere tone.
"Thanks, baby," Poe replies in an enthusiastic tone, wearing half a flirtatious smile, briefly making eye contact with his husband.
Din tries not to blush as he walks away, on his way to meet his PhD student, his heart fluttering as ever. As for the student, they let out a loud gasp.
"So, the rumors are true??"
"Oh boy," Poe sighs.
