Work Text:
Saturday noon was supposed to be Suga and Daichi's weekly cleaning schedule (mostly Daichi did) and day off from any university activity, yet Suga was alone.
It was around one when suddenly, Daichi got a call from one of his friends in the academy telling him that something urgent came up and he was needed immediately.
“I'm sorry, Koushi. I will come back as soon as I can. Do you want anything?” Pouting, Suga just hugged Daichi before he go and asked him to just come back safely.
Though it was weekly cleaning, there wasn't much cleaning actually, because Daichi was sure to remind him to wash their clothes every two days (yes, Suga was on laundry duty) so it was just vacuuming and sorting some stuff they needed to keep and throw away. They had done the vacuuming but Suga immediately lost his mood after Daichi was gone. Now he was aimlessly gathering some stuff to sort later.
Suga was one who was easy to distract. When he had gathered magazines and book stuff, he found an old photo album he sure was gone after they moved to their new apartment. Turned out it was the album from their first year of high school which they thought was left in their old apartment. He looked into every picture while remembering when this and that happened.
There was a photo of Asahi with a sad-looking expression which he guessed was when they found a small stray dog left in a box, below it was a photo of the four of them hanging around at the park near Karasuno after the volleyball activities. Suga remembered that was the first day Shimizu joined them as their manager.
That was when he realized Daichi used to be shorter than him and he still had that boyish feature on his face which now had long gone. He got a little irritated by the fact he just acquired. How come it was fair that Daichi was by 10cm taller, got broader shoulder, and more muscle while he stayed the same as when he graduated? He can't even grow stubbles.
“Koushi? I'm home.”
Daichi didn't hear any answer from Suga. Did he maybe take a nap?
Daichi walked through their genkan* to their small living room, hoping to find Suga who might be falling asleep on the couch (again).
“Kou- Oh are you sorting some stuff already? Wait- Is that our long-lost album?” Daichi put his bag and paper bag on their coffee table which contained food and dessert for their late lunch.
“Yeah. Apparently, it was tucked between shelves and magazines..”
Daichi looked back at the photos thoroughly, doing the same thing as Suga did five minutes ago.
“Oh? I didn't know you used to be taller than me?”
Suga immediately closed the album and put the photo album on the coffee table on his left. Daichi looked a little bit surprised by his boyfriend's act and grinned after he realized what made Suga a little bit sensitive.
“Koushi?”
“Stop grinning, Daichi.” Suga pouted and sighed, which in Daichi's point of view, was the cutest version of Suga. “It's not fair you got all that muscle and height. I bet you're still growing aren't you?”
Daichi smiled at Suga which made him furrow his eyebrows.
“I got trained at the police academy, remember? and I really love our height difference. Come on, stand up, I want to show you something.”
“No.”
Daichi pulled his hand to stand. “Come on, Koushi.”
Suga couldn't help and stand because Daichi has pulled his puppy eyes on him. Not fair.
“Look at my eyes.” Daichi cupped Suga's face and looked him in the eye.
“This height of yours is the perfect fit for me to kiss your forehead.” Daichi closed their distance and placed kisses on Suga's face.
Sugawara couldn't help but giggle at his boyfriend's effortless flirting. He felt him kissing his forehead twice, each one on his both cheeks and a pecked on the lips. He opened his eyes and found Daichi's clear brown eyes looking at him with a fond look.
“So, are you still sulking?”
“No.” Suga smiled and placed both of his hands on top of Daichi's on his face.
“Good. Now, let's eat. I'm hungry.”
