Soulmate AU
Draco’s father had a stirn belief that soulmates weren’t real because he “Looks everyone in the eyes and I never found mine.” but Draco didn’t think that was true because his father would never look Snape in the eye and maybe there was a reason behind that. Draco had always wondered why his father refused to look Snape in the eye but he honestly didn’t care at this point in his life. Draco had refused to make eye contact with anyone because he was scared to find out if he didn’t have a soulmate.
Harry on the other hand didn’t know about the whole soulmate thing that happened in the wizarding world having been raised by muggles. When Harry first heard about this it was from Ron who had told him that many people didn’t like looking people in the eye because they are afraid that the one they love may not be the one for them. Ron said that he didn’t care if someone was his soulmate or not, if he cared for them he was going to be with them. Harry liked that mind set.
Years later Harry and Draco are having another fight and they accidentally make eye contact with one another.
“Oh shit.” Draco said freezing all of his movements.
“We are-” Harry didn’t need to finish that question; they both knew exactly what it was. You see before people in the wizarding world make eye contact with their soulmate all they see are shades of gray, but when they make eye contact with their soulmate color can be seen.
“Yeah.” Draco said. Luckily no one was around, but the two of them decide to end their stupid childish rivalry and try to get along.
A few months later Harry and Draco realized that they actually work really well together. Ron found his soulmate, Blaise, and they were both happy. Hermione found out that her soulmate was Pansy and they were both ecstatic when they found out.
