Chapter 1: The Forgers X Morning Sickness

Chapter Text

"Blegh...."

The sounds of vomiting could be heard from the bathroom. The worried faces of Twilight and Anya were peeking in at the entrance as Yor vomited out her entire breakfast.

It wasn't because she had problems with her stomach. The baby wasn't exactly letting her be normal.

'Think,Twilight. Your wife, who is carrying your baby is currently suffering, unable to eat normally. And look at you, standing here motionlessly.  Maybe your cooking is the problem. The baby couldn't be the reason. It is you-'

Anya became anxious and dizzy as she heard the countless thoughts raining down on her SSS-class spy father's head. She stopped paying attention to him and quickly went over to Yor's side.

Her mother's face was quite pale and unlike her usual self, lacked vigor. Nevertheless, Yor tried her best to put on a smile for her daughter.

''Mama, are you okay?''

Anya asked her mother who clearly was not okay.

Her little hands helped her stand and led the way to the couch in the living room. At this point, Loid had broken out of his worry thought shower and walked to Yor.

"I'm really sorry,Yor. It's all my fault that you have to suffer like this." His hand held hers as they sat down on the couch together.

"Oh Loid, you are not to blame for it. This is our child, and we have to take care of them." Yor reassured Loid as she gently caressed her flat stomach.

"But-"Loid's self-blame protests were stopped by Yor as she shushed his mouth with her finger. She picked Anya up and hugged her close.

Anya was curious. She asked,"Mama, is there really a baby in your tummy?"

"Of course, Anya dear. Soon, in a few months, you will see your little brother or sister."

"Really? Wakuwaku!!"

Twilight felt his lips curve slightly upwards as he saw his wife and daughter happily spending time together. He got up from the couch and reminded Yor, ''My dear wife, why don't you take a little nap while I make lunch, hmm?''

"Loid, I'm not sleepy. I would rather help you with your chores-Ah?!!!"
Yor squealed as she felt Loid lift her up in a princess carry. She felt shy as she felt Anya's smug smile on their figures.

'How embarassing, I let a child see such things!' Yor's face turned as red as her eyes. It couldn't be helped after all. She and Loid were a new couple and she hadn't gotten used to...well, couples stuff.

She took Loid's advice and even pulled Anya to sleep with her hugging her in her embrace. Oh how a certain world-class spy would kill to be in Anya's current position.

Fast forward two months later.

Yor weakly laid on her and Loid's love bed. She had vomited out her lunch and was currently feeling another round of nausea.

Twilight's worried eyes reassured her as she felt that this man would love her for the rest of their lives and would do anything to protect their little yet growing family.

Loid knelt down by her side and took her hand in his and caressed it for a while. Then he got up and kissed her forehead before tucking her in.

He left the room to sit on the couch and started contemplating things.

'Maybe, I should make here a bowl of popcorn.' This idea satisfied him and he set forth to get dried corn kernels from the refrigerator.

He thought of making caramel popcorn, and so he started melting sugar.

Thanks to master chef Lloydilotto's efforts, a bowl of fresh, caramel popcorn was created and ready to serve.

He opened the door to the bedroom to find Yor awake and flipping through a magazine about motherhood that she had borrowed from one of her coworkers.

Seeing him holding a tray with a bowl of popcorn, Yor felt happy and even kissed him on the cheek. She mouthed a thank you and started munching on the popcorn.

Loid was rendered speechless for a moment and smiled helplessly at his wife who was happily gobbling up the popcorn.

The hour hand slowly moved to four and one could hear the doorbell ringing in the Forgers' apartment.

Loid went to open the door to find Yuri Briar who had Anya in one arm and her backpack and his suitcase in the other. He was half-pleased to see his brother-in-law in name-Yuri would never admit it that he acknowledged Loid-and entered the house and let Anya down gently. As much as he hated Loi-Loi, he had a soft heart for his niece even if she wasn't his sister's blood.

Anya's sharp nose immediately picked up the scent of popcorn as she approached the counter. She turned her face to her Papa with a betrayed look,"Papa, you made popcorn and didn't leave any for me?!"

Loid was about to explain that he made it for Yor while a gentle, feminine voice sounded in the room,"Anya, don't be mad at your Papa. I couldn't eat lunch so he made it for me. Why don't you come with me? I still haven't finished it."

Anya happily bounced as she made her way to her mother. Loid wanted to stop but Yor made a shushing gesture as she held Anya's hand to go eat popcorn.

Yuri who had been forgotten by the Forgers suddenly spoke up, "Yor, I have found just the cure for your nausea."

Saying this, he took out a white plastic bag from his suitcase. The contents seemed fishy and it smelled as fishy as it looked. Twilight hadn't a clue how this thing would help Yor.

However, contrary to his expectations, the older Briar happily received the contents. She was full of smiles,"Oh Yuri, how could I ever thank  you?"

"It's fine,Sis. It's my duty as your brother after all-"Yuri froze as Yor kissed his cheek like when hey were children before walking away to store the package.

Loid gently patted the younger man's back and asked him curiously,"What was in that package?"

Yuri wore a smug smile and replied,"Oh, it's nothing but our childhood favourite. Our hometown's special cheese, the Handkäse.''

Since then, Yuri occasionally dropped by with a bag full of the hand-cheese much to the delight of Yor and the relief of Twilight.

Yor's nausea was also cured after she passed her first trimester and the popcorn and cheese had certainly played a part in it.

Or so Bond had learned as he returned from Yuri's house for the first time in three months.

Notes:

What do you mean I forgot Bond? I totally did not forget him and added the last line as a final measure.
