Work Text:

There's a new leaf turning in town, and it's hard not to notice it.

Taehyung certainly has. Everybody just seems happier, with the leaves changing color, the sun going down earlier, and chilly nights making their way to their corner of the world—and with Jimin becoming human, Namjoon, and Jungkook considering mating, and Seokjin practicing magic again, things are changing, and it's for the better.

It has him thinking, but it's thoughts he's trying to push down.

Taehyung's happy with the way things are and doesn't want to disrupt the balance they've found. But it's hard with Seokjin's wandering eyes and Jimin's questions about his family.

It's been about six months since he left them, found Seokjin's, and found a new family, but he's been thinking about them more than he usually would.

He's not sure if it's because the anniversary of Seokjin’s parents’ death just passed, or if he does, in fact, miss them. He has Namjoon to talk to about werewolf things, but it’s not quite the same as talking to his family about it.

That’s what gets him; he never gave them the chance to explain, never talked to them about it. He just left and found the one person he knew would understand no matter what, and that’s all that Seokjin’s shown him since he saw him—love and understanding, and he couldn’t ask for anything better.

But it’s evident that Seokjin knows something’s going on; Taehyung can smell how worried he is, even if he’s trying to play it off.

It’s easy to distract himself when Seokjin conjures up a flower for him or makes sparks fly from his fingertips. He’s learning so many new things or things that he already knew and his excitement over it is a welcome distraction. It makes him proud because Seokjin’s facing his fears and becoming in touch with himself again.

Taehyung can’t say he’s doing the same.

He understands being a werewolf and doesn’t have any issues with it. His problems with it lie with how his parents dealt with telling him—the fact that they didn’t tell him.

Taehyung’s having a particularly brooding day when Seokjin comes home after some lessons with Hoseok and Yoongi and finds him sitting on the couch, staring into space.

“Woah, okay,” Seokjin chuckles as he takes his shoes off. “Enough of that. We need to talk.” Taehyung looks up at Seokjin, eyes round, resembling a kicked puppy. “Oh, don’t give me that look. It’s nothing bad.”

Taehyung sighs as Seokjin crawls onto the couch and pulls the wolf into his lap.

“You gotta tell me what’s going on in your head,” the witch says, petting Taehyung’s hair, scratching behind his ears. It’s the exact spot that he scratches when he’s shifted, and Taehyung lets out a satisfied sigh.

“I can’t—I don’t want to make you feel bad or burden you or anything,” Taehyung mumbles and folds his hands in his lap.

Seokjin flicks the top of his head, and it earns a yelp and a glare, and as Taehyung turns around, Seokjin cups his cheeks and pulls him in for a kiss. It’s soft and sweet, and Taehyung melts into it.

The witch pulls away and leans their foreheads together, and Taehyung takes a shaky breath.

“My love, you have to talk to me,” Seokjin says quietly.

There’s a rumble from Taehyung’s chest, and Seokjin snorts as he recognizes it as a growl. It’s not malicious, though, but one of annoyance.

Taehyung flops back and lays his head in Seokjin’s lap, and the elder runs his fingers through his hair.

“I think I miss my parents,” Taehyung announces.

“And you know that’s allowed, right?” Taehyung huffs and buries his head in Seokjin’s stomach, leaving the witch to rub his back. Seokjin laughs and asks, “Is it common for werewolves to be bad at feelings, or is it just you?”

Taehyung grumbles something in response, but Seokjin can’t make it out.

“You’ll have to repeat that, baby.”

Taehyung sighs and sits up. “It’s just me.”

Seokjin can’t help but smile as he holds his arms out. “But that’s why I’m here, to help you work through it.”

“What if I don’t want to work through it?”

Seokjin laughs again, petting his head. “That’s too bad. Parents are important, you know.”

Taehyung sighs because he knows how much that means coming from Seokjin. He sits up and turns to face him, sitting cross-legged. He reaches out, grabs his hand for comfort, and brings it to his lap.

“I was so angry at them,” he says.

“Was?”

Taehyung shrugs. “Still am, maybe. I don’t know.”

“Do you think because it’s been a little bit, you’ve calmed down?”

“Maybe.”

Seokjin shakes his head with a small smile. “Work with me here, love. Do you want to see them again? Maybe talk to them about it?”

Taehyung’s face scrunches, and he starts to shake his head but then stops. “I don’t know.”

“I think you have a lot of feelings about how they treated you—can we talk about it?”

Taehyung sighs dramatically and lays back on the couch, putting his feet in his boyfriend’s lap. “I love you, you know,” he tells him, suddenly wanting to make sure he knows.

He can feel the warmth radiating from him as he strokes his ankle and replies. “I know. I love you too.”

Taehyung falls silent for a few moments, trying to gather his thoughts. “I just—I feel like they treated me like they think I’m a monster, like it’s something they’re ashamed of.”

“You were ashamed of it at first,” Seokjin points out.

Taehyung swallows thickly and nods. “I know, but I’ve worked through it. I don’t—I’m proud of it now.”

Seokjin squeezes Taehyung’s ankle and shoots a smile over at him. “I know. I’m proud of you.”

“Couldn’t have done it without you,” Taehyung tells him and nudges his stomach with a toe.

Seokjin chuckles and Taehyung watches the way the tips of his ears turn red and marvels in it.

“I think I want to talk to them,” he mumbles and sits up and scoots over to sit next to Seokjin. “Can you come with me?”

Taehyung’s voice is so tiny and quiet that Seokjin wants to wrap him up and protect them for as long as he can.

He does the next best thing and wraps his arms around him and rests his head on top of his. “Of course, darling. You know I’m here for anything you need.”

“Love you,” Taehyung mumbles and twists his body, so he has to access to his neck and gently rubs his nose along the column of his throat.

Seokjin smells clean, like fresh laundry on a spring day, with the slightest hint of lavender to him. It’s one of Taehyung’s favorite scents. It has a calming effect on him, and that’s no different now.

At first, Taehyung was ashamed of the scenting instinct, wanting to do it, but worried about what Seokjin would think. Of course, Seokjin knew all about it and was the one to bring it up in the first place. Namjoon scents him sometimes and scents Jungkook whenever he can, so Seokjin had been almost offended that Taehyung hadn’t done it. After talking with Namjoon, he understood it more and scents Seokjin whenever he feels like it.

“Love you too, Taehyung-ah,” Seokjin whispers quietly and kisses his forehead. “Just let me know when, and I’ll be there holding your hand.”

Taehyung can’t help but blush at the sweet words as he snuggles closer to Seokjin. Seeing his parents is scary, but it’s significantly less scary with Seokjin by his side.

------------------

Taehyung nervously clutches Seokjin’s hand, standing on the house's doorstep he left months ago.

Seokjin’s trying to provide all the support he can, even giving him a pep talk in the car. They talked about what Taehyung would say, even rehearsed it a bit. The wolf has come a long way, but he can still struggle to keep his anger under control sometimes, hence the practice.

Seokjin believes in him and hopes this goes well. He wants nothing more than for Taehyung to make up with his parents. He realizes they probably thought something along the lines of protecting him, but he understands why Taehyung is upset. His parents told him about being a witch when he was young, and he believes that was the right decision. Taehyung’s parents should have done the same. But he knows they’re good people, that they’ve always just wanted the best for their son.

“Is it too late to back out,” Taehyung mumbles

Seokjin sends a glare his way. “Don’t you dare.”

Taehyung lets out a long sigh and then reaches out and knocks on the door. It only takes a few moments for his mom to answer the door, all warm smiles and bows and hugs as she pulls Seokjin in.

His mother is named Eunju, and his father is named Sungho, and Seokjin can remember the first time he came over like it was yesterday. The house still looks the same, warm and cozy as he remembers it.

He startles a little bit but then hugs her back, making him feel emotional for a second. Taehyung must sense this because he feels a hand at his back, not leaving when he pulls away.

“I was sorry to hear about your parents, Seokjin-ssi,” Eunju says quietly and offers a sad smile. Seokjin shrugs a bit but insists it’s okay. He remembers they sent him food for weeks when they heard the news, and Seokjin ate every bit of it.

She doesn’t waste a second and immediately pulls Taehyung into a crushing hug, making Seokjin feel warm.

“Hi, eomma,” he murmurs and hugs her back.

Seokjin watches with a fond smile, and then the two of them are quickly ushered inside.

“We’re so glad you’re here,” Sungho says. “And so glad you brought Seokjin-ssi back to us.”

Taehyung smiles and averts his gaze as he takes his shoes off. He insists it's nothing and offers a warm smile to Seokjin. Seokjin takes his shoes off too, and they take a pair of slippers and follow his parents into the living room.

“You know,” Eunju starts, waving her finger at the two of them. “It’s about time the two of you got your stuff together.” Taehyung’s brows raise, and Seokjin’s eyes widen. “Your appa owes me six thousand won; I’ll have you know.”

The couple turns to Taehyung’s father, and he shrugs. “It took you two forever to get together. What can I say?”

Taehyung splutters while Seokjin laughs his head off. Of course, his parents would bet on how long it would take them to get together.

Taehyung’s parents were basically a second set of parents to Seokjin growing up, and he didn’t realize how much he missed them until this moment.

“We made food,” Sungho announces.

Seokjin looks at Taehyung with a raised brow, trying to hide a sigh as he asks, “What did you make?”

“Bulgogi japchae,” his mother tells them, and Seokjin elbows Taehyung’s side, and the wolf can’t help but crack a smile.

“My favorite,” he says, and then his mother ushers them into the kitchen.

They eat, and it’s a nice meal, but it’s clear Taehyung isn’t feeling sociable. They finish, and Seokjin helps clean up, and then he can tell Taehyung’s ready to talk once he sits back down.

“Can we talk about the elephant in the room?” Taehyung asks arms crossed over his chest as he leans back in the chair. Seokjin reaches out and takes his hand.

Sungho sighs as Eunju gives a curt nod.

“Why didn’t you tell me I was a werewolf?” Taehyung asks, his voice a little desperate. “You just—I was left confused in my own body, scared as I couldn’t make sense of anything.”

Seokjin feels a lump form in his throat as he brushes his finger along Taehyung’s knuckles.

“We didn’t—”  Eunju starts but cuts herself off.

His father takes over, “No one has presented in generations, Taehyung-ah. You have to understand. We didn’t think—”

“You still should have told me,” Taehyung grits out, and Seokjin squeezes his hand and gives him a look.

“It comes from your father’s side, and the last wolf in the family was your great-grandmother,” Eunju clarifies.

Seokjin nods along, listening intently, but Taehyung looks like he isn’t having any of it. “But you knew it was a possibility?” They both hesitate but nod, and Taehyung scoffs. “You’re still not answering my question.”

“We didn’t want to scare you,” his father offers.

“Scare me?” Taehyung repeats, and Seokjin can tell he’s getting worked up, and this is going down the wrong path, but like a train wreck, he can only watch as it happens in slow motion. “You didn’t think I was scared when I was lashing out at everybody? When I was getting this weird aches and pains, I started hearing, seeing, and smelling things I couldn’t before?”

His parents remain silent, and Seokjin stares at his lap.

“Hyung’s parents told him about being a witch when he was a child—” Seokjin’s head snaps up to Taehyung, and he glances quickly at his parents before looking back at his lap. Taehyung lets go of his hand. “I just don’t understand why you didn’t trust me the way his parents trusted him.”

Seokjin flinches at that one, the knife cutting deep.

“We were trying to protect you, Taehyung-ah,” his mother insists, her voice pleading like she desperately wants Taehyung to see her side.

Taehyung stands up, his chair making a loud scraping noise against the floor, making Seokjin flinch. “Protect me? How is not telling me something so important protecting me?”

Taehyung’s mother scrambles for words, “We didn’t—we thought—” Taehyung’s father can’t find the words either, and that’s all Taehyung needs to hear.

“What were you trying to protect me from?” Taehyung demands and is met with silence. “Myself? The monster that I started to turn into? What is it, then?”

“Taehyung-ah—” his father pleads, but Taehyung doesn’t even want to hear it.

He shakes his head and holds a hand up. “I don’t even want to hear it,” he says and storms out faster than Seokjin can even follow him. It leaves him sitting there with his parents. He swallows thickly and looks up at the two of them before standing up. He bows and smiles awkwardly, thanking them for their company before following Taehyung.

He finds Taehyung waiting for him, leaning against the passenger door in the car. His arms are crossed against his chest, and you can read his aura from a mile away.

“Baby,” Seokjin says and walks over and cups his cheek. Taehyung’s eyes flutter shut, and he leans into the touch. “Are you okay?”

“No,” he spits, eyes flying open. Seokjin flinches, and Taehyung winces. “Sorry.”

Seokjin runs a hand through his hair, being as delicate as possible. “It’s okay. I get it. Let’s go home.” Taehyung swallows thickly and nods, and climbs into the car without another word.

The car ride home is silent and, of course, longer than the car ride there. There’s never-ending traffic, and Seokjin can tell Taehyung wants to jump out of the car when they get home.

And that’s precisely what he does, but he takes off in the opposite direction of the apartment.

“Taehyung-ah, wait—” Seokjin calls out, following behind him.

Taehyung huffs and turns around, then offer a curt smile. “Can I be alone for a bit?”

Seokjin’s eyes widen, and he tries not to give away how much he hates that idea, but he knows Taehyung can smell the hesitation on him. “Is that—”

Taehyung takes a deep breath through his nose, nostrils flaring. “I just don’t want to take how I’m feeling out on you.”

Seokjin’s smile is soft, understanding as he nods. “Okay, I get it. Tell me where you’re going—keep me updated?”

Taehyung pulls Seokjin in for a hug and kisses his forehead. “Just need to shift for a bit, I think. I’m going to my spot.”

Taehyung has a spot in the woods, one that Seokjin forced him to show him a little while ago in case he ever needed to find him, and luckily, he remembers exactly where it is. He hopes today isn’t one of the days where he has to track him down.

“Okay,” Seokjin says quietly. “be safe. I love you.”

Taehyung offers him a small smile, the first one he’s seen in hours. “I love you too.” He pulls him in for a quick kiss, and then he walks away and disappears behind the trees.

Seokjin hates the silence that he finds in the car that follows him all the way home. He wishes Taehyung were with him, that they could talk, but he knows this is for the best.

------------------

Seokjin wakes up to a blanket being laid over him, and he startles when he sees Taehyung’s face inches from his. The wolf laughs and takes a seat next to him.

“Sorry,” he mumbles and curls into his side. “you were out cold.”

Seokjin yawns, reaching out and stretching his arms. “How long have you been back?”

“Only a little bit. I took a shower.”

Taehyung pulls Seokjin into his arms, and then the witch hums and can’t help but tease, “Yeah, I thought I smelled wet dog.”

Taehyung gasps and then pulls back with raised brows, and Seokjin can’t help but burst into laughter.

“You’re an ass,” Taehyung grumbles as Seokjin kisses his head.

“I love you,” Seokjin sing-songs. “I was kidding, really. You smell good. You used my body wash?”

Taehyung slides down a bit and then nods. “You can’t really scent me, so it’s like—it’s like scenting for me.”

“I love you,” Seokjin repeats and kisses Taehyung’s temple.

“Love you too,” the wolf comments and gets comfortable holding his boyfriend and focusing on whatever show Seokjin left on TV.

They sit in silence for a bit, enjoying each other’s company, but of course, Seokjin can’t let it stay like that for long.

“We need to talk about it, you know,” he says.

Taehyung instantly tenses up and pulls away. “I really don’t want to.”

Seokjin gives him this look, and then Taehyung sighs before he crawls into Seokjin’s lap, making himself as small as possible.

“I know, it sucks. But we—you—need to work through this, angel.” Taehyung grumbles and Seokjin moves some of the hair from his face. “It’s a complicated situation, I know, and that sucks, but it’s one you have to work through.” Taehyung lets out a low grumble, and then Seokjin adds, “You have to work through your complicated feelings. Otherwise, they’ll eat you alive.”

Taehyung buries his head in Seokjin’s neck and wants to live there, hiding from everything there forever. Seokjin lets out a little chuckle and wraps his arms around him, holding him close.

“They couldn’t even give me a reason why they didn’t tell me,” Taehyung says, and his voice is strained, and Seokjin can tell he’s trying not to cry. “They think I’m a monster, hyung.”

Seokjin rubs his back and shakes his head. “You don’t know that. They didn’t say that.”

Taehyung pulls back, and his eyes are a little glassy. He wipes his nods and turns his head to the side. “But I could feel it. What other reason is there?”

The witch sighs and places his hands on Taehyung’s hips. “You didn’t give them a chance to say anything,” he points out.

Taehyung clenches his jaw, brows furrowing together. “I should have given them a chance to tell me they think I’m a monster?”

It’s taking everything in Seokjin to keep his composure, to point out they’re going in circles. He’s saved himself from pointing out how childish Taehyung is being this whole time, because he doesn’t want to fight with him.

“That’s not—” Seokjin sighs. “That’s not what I meant. I meant that you don’t know their thoughts because you didn’t give them the chance. You were very disrespectful, and threw a tantrum and walked out.”

Seokjin regrets it as soon as it leaves his mouth, in the way Taehyung raises an eyebrow and climbs off his lap, eyeing him warily. “You think I’m being childish?”

The witch’s eyes widen, and he immediately shakes his head and reaches out, but Taehyung recoils. “No, no, baby. That’s not what I mean at all.”

Seokjin watches him get worked up in front of him, breath quickening, and practically sees the thoughts spinning in his head.

“You agree with them. You think I’m being childish, and you think they had a right not to tell me.”

Seokjin groans and throws his hands up, feeling the situation spiral out of his control. “Love, that’s not what I’m saying at all.”

Taehyung shakes his head and wraps his arms around himself. “You don’t get it. They hurt me so badly and left me to fend for myself. I don’t know that I can forgive them. I-I don’t know if I want to see them again.”

And that’s what sends Seokjin over the edge.

He stands up, letting out a harsh breath as he looks at Taehyung on the couch. His brows are furrowed, and he has this look that he’s only seen one other time—when he kissed him and ran out. “You know what, I meant what I said. You are being childish,” he says, and Taehyung blinks. “They are your parents. They did what they thought was best and—”

Taehyung stands up, facing Seokjin. “They didn’t have a right to keep this from me!”

“They thought they were protecting you.”

“They did a shit job at it,” Taehyung retorts and turns around.

Seokjin feels like crying now because all of his own complicated feelings hit him at once. He can’t believe Taehyung won’t listen to his parents and now him. It sends him over the edge, anger festering on every surface.

It has jealousy bubbling up, that Taehyung even has parents in the first place still trying to protect him, and it has anger brewing at the surface at Taehyung’s inability to listen to them. He can’t take it anymore.

“You know what, Taehyung-ah,” Seokjin says harshly. “at least your parents are still here to try to protect you. You should consider that before you never see them again.” Taehyung turns around, and Seokjin has tears streaming down his face, but he can’t see through the anger. “Because never seeing your parents again really fucking sucks.”

Taehyung doesn’t realize this went from bad to worse until Seokjin walks out and slams the door. He stares at an empty living room and starts to regret everything. The anger instantly fades away, and he wants Seokjin in his arms already.

He thinks his tear-soaked face, pleading with him, will be burned into his memory forever. He stumbles back until he finds the couch and sits down, promptly cries into his hands, and lets out everything he’s been holding in for the day.

------------------

Taehyung goes to bed without Seokjin and wakes up without him, too, and he hates it. He hates not waking up to the smell of onion wafting through the apartment, sitting on the counter as Seokjin makes breakfast. He hates not feeling the warmth next to him in bed as he sleeps, and most of all, he hates checking his phone to see no missed calls or texts.

He first gives an experimental call to Seokjin, but it goes straight to voicemail.

Either his phone is dead, or Seokjin’s ignoring him; that’s good. That makes Taehyung feel so good. He texts him for good measure, too, to let him know to come home whenever he wants.

He leaves out the part about how desperate he wants Seokjin to come home.

They’ve never had a fight like this nor spent this much time apart, and Taehyung feels like he’s going crazy—a part of its human, and a part of it is his wolf.

His wolf loves Seokjin as much as he does, and it’s a combination of anger and hurt that Seokjin left and isn’t back yet. Taehyung’s trying to work through that, trying not to go crazy in an empty apartment.

As he checks the time, he knows the restaurant needs to open soon, and it sends a fresh wave of panic coursing through him. He’s learned a lot from Seokjin since they moved in together, but he doesn’t know enough to open and run the restaurant by himself for a day.

He starts to pace the living room, debating his options.

Seokjin hates when the restaurant closes unexpectantly, he knows that. But he can’t run the place by himself for the day; he knows that too.

The fact that Seokjin’s not here to help him figure out this mess sends fresh tears springing to his eyes. He tries his best to ignore them, to ignore all the anxiety bubbling up, and try to find a solution to the current problem

But he’s coming up empty.

He’s not sure how long he stands there, debating his options when a knock at the door startles him from his thoughts.

Taehyung freezes, and he can smell Seokjin, even through the door, and he’s relieved instantly. He practically trips over himself as he rushes to the door and flings the door, revealing his boyfriend on the other side.

Seokjin looks just as sad as Taehyung feels, and it makes his heart clench in his chest.

“Can I—” Taehyung reaches out but quickly stops himself. He doesn’t know where they stand, and he hates it.

Seokjin smiles at him softly, and his head tilts to the side. “C’mere, my big puppy.”

Taehyung inhales shakily, throws himself into Seokjin’s arms, and squeezes him tightly. Seokjin chuckles as he stumbles back a bit and hugs him back.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Taehyung chants and buries his head in the crook of Seokjin’s neck, inhaling his clean scent deeply. “You’re right—I was being childish. I should have listened to you, but my anger took over, and I was an idiot, and I didn’t even think about how it impacted you—”

Taehyung knows he’s rambling, but he can’t stop until Seokjin pulls back, takes his face in his hands, and presses their lips together. Taehyung’s breath catches in his throat, but he melts into it. It’s chaste, not much more than a soft press of their lips.

“I know,” Seokjin murmurs and rests their foreheads together. “I’m sorry too. I was—I reacted emotionally and took it out on you. I shouldn’t have done that.”

Taehyung doesn’t realize he started crying until Seokjin’s wiping his tears away. He sniffles and nods before stealing another kiss.

“But I shouldn’t have—”

Seokjin shakes his head, and Taehyung immediately cuts himself off. “We’re not gonna sit here and argue about who’s at fault, hm?” Taehyung can’t help but laugh quietly. “we both fucked up, and we’re both sorry, right?”

“So sorry, hyung.”

“Alright, that’s what matters, then. Can I come in?”

Taehyung pulls back and then blinks. “It’s your place, silly.”

Seokjin shrugs. “It’s our place, but it seemed nice to ask.”

Taehyung’s wolf soars at the implication of the place being theirs, and he can’t help but blush at the thought.

Seokjin walks in, sets his shoes aside, pulls Taehyung to the couch, and promptly shoves himself into his lap. Taehyung wraps his arms around him and kisses his head.

“I’m sorry,” he murmurs, and he can feel Seokjin grow tense in his arms.

“I told you—it’s okay.”

“You were right, though. I was being childish.” Seokjin stays silent, not really having an argument, making Taehyung snort. “I shouldn’t have—of course, it fucking sucks never seeing your parents again. I shouldn’t have said that. I want to see them again.”

Seokjin swallows thickly and nods, remembering his harsh words.

The last twenty-four hours have been a whirlwind of emotions that ended with him sleeping on Hoseok, Yoongi, and Jimin’s couch, and it’s not a place he wants to find himself again. He loves them but never wants to leave Taehyung alone like that again.

“I’m glad you realize that Taehyung-ah,” Seokjin praises. “I’ll go with you again if you want.”

Taehyung hesitates, but then he nods. “Of course, I want that. I think—I need some time, though.”

“Understandable,” Seokjin whispers as he reaches out to find Taehyung’s hand to lace their fingers together. He squeezes his hand and lets out a long sigh. “I’m sorry, too.”

“I thought we weren’t doing that.”

Seokjin chuckles and then shrugs. “Yeah, but—I shouldn’t have left you like that and for so long. I can’t imagine how awful it felt.”

“Sleeping alone sucks.”

“It does.”

They fall quiet, and after a few moments, Seokjin sits up and meets Taehyung’s gaze.

“I don’t think I told you, but this—us—to me is forever, Taehyung-ah. I don’t want to do last night again.” His brows are furrowed, and Taehyung reaches out to soothe the crease with his thumb. “I’m not saying that we can’t fight. We’re human; that’ll happen, but please don’t let me leave like that again, and I won’t let you leave like that again.”

Taehyung’s brain shut off after Seokjin mentioned forever, but he nods along anyway. Although, he can’t formulate a proper response.

“Forever?”

Seokjin smiles at him and reaches up and cups the wolf’s cheek. “Of course. I love you, Taehyung-ah. Aside from the others, you’re really all I have. I don’t want to lose you.”

Taehyung surges forward and kisses Seokjin, climbing on top of him as he lays back on the couch. The witch smiles into it, and Taehyung’s heart soars.

“I love you—so much. I never want to lose you, either.”

“Great. Glad we’re on the same page.”

Seokjin kisses his cheek, then Taehyung buries his head in his neck and scents him until he feels completely satisfied, and it quickly has Seokjin giggles as Taehyung’s nose tickles his neck.

This—this is what happiness feels like, Taehyung thinks.

He has a lot to work through and even wants to bring up the possibility of mating with Seokjin, but he knows it’ll all be okay as long as he has the witch by his side, and he knows that’s never going to change.
