Work Text:
Haithai got out of her car, making her way to the spot of land that marked her brother’s final resting place. Passing by a few tombstones, some more clean and clearly taken care of, while others seem to have not been seen let alone cleaned in a few years.
Standing in front of his grave, she kneels and places a bouquet of hydrangeas and poppies down right where the tombstone met ground before pressing her hands together and closing her eyes in a prayer. She didn’t pray often but some of her siblings did, so she only saw it as fitting to pray for her now deceased brother.
Whispering a quick prayer, Haithai opened back up her eyes and smiled weakly, eyes sad and filled with grief and stood back up, knees sore and dusted off any dirt that got on her robes. She slowly made her way back to her car, tears threatening to spill as she got back in her car and drove off.
