Chapter Text
Darkness, that was all as far as the eye could see. A single eye glaring into the dark. The eye of a demon whom was just destroyed, or so it seemed. The endless darkness didn't seem to end as the demon wandered about, trying to find an exit from this place he was trapped in. He of course wondered how he was seemingly alive, he was erased from existence after all. He would know if there was something beyond existence, right? But even he couldn't deny, that this was some kind of purgatory.
"Ha, this is a good joke, fordsy!, Can't fool me!" The demon yelled out into the vast void, "You and your family's tricks. You Pines can't defeat me!" Only his own voice echoed back at him. He laughed at this occurrence. Infinite eyes felt like they were suddenly on him. These two eyes soon became only. The vast void suddenly shined into a blinding white, before dying down into a familiar space to the demon. One he'd only been in once before, the Axolotl heard his call. "Axy! Buddy, you heard me! I knew you'd come through!" The demon approached the giant Axolotl.
"Bill Cipher, it's been a long time. And you have not changed your ways one bit." The Axolotl's voice boomed through the space.
"Oh come on, you know me, Axy! Why would I ever change?~" Bill playfully taunted. He remembered making a deal that would save his life, he was so desperate to have a resurrection card. Thing is, the exact terms of the deal, he never truly heard.
"I'm pretty sure if you wish to keep your life you will," Axolotl remained very serious, "You do recall that was in the terms of our deal. In order to regain your life in full, you must change your ways."
Bill gasped, "What. You, Oh no no no! I am not going to stop my chaos just because you say so!"
"Then remain here in purgatory, or I could send you back to earth and you repay for what you have done to that town."
"Wait, wait, wait, wait!," Bill went right up into the axolotl's view to make sure he was seen, "Come on, buddy! I was joking, you know how I am!..... okay not really, but don't expect me to actually let them know I'm around. I'll keep to our terms." He crossed his arms, frustrated he was having to agree to be friendly, and kind to simply get his life back.
"A reminder, Cipher. There is indeed only one way you will be able to repay for your crimes. In a different form, in a different time," Axolotl created a portal to earth, "I will not tell you what your form shall be, but know that what has only been moments for you, will have been years for them."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah! I'll be fine! I've dealt with this town once already!" Bill floated towards the portal with confidence. Confidence that for sure was not to remain.
>Gravity Falls, Oregon June 20th, 2018<
A Bus pulls to a stop infront of a stand-alone cabin slightly away from the rest of the town. This Cabin is a tourist trap known as The Mystery Shack. Excited tourists shuffle off of the bus going for the attraction they read about online. Among the group of people stepping off though are two teenagers, Dipper and Mabel Pines. Mabel, wearing a sweater partially off the shoulder on one side, excitedly ran over to the group of people who'd been waiting for their arrival. Dipper chased after his sister, basically having to carry everything.
"Dudes, you made it!" Soos excitedly went and hugged the two, "Stan and Ford aren't here right now. Got caught up in an adventure they said."
"That's alright, as long as they show up before the end of the summer," Dipper replied with a smile. Wendy rushed and tackle hugged him.
"There ya are, ya big dope!" Wendy ruffled Dipper's hair, "The gang is planning to hang out at the haunted mini store again. We asked ahead. You two wanna join us?!"
"No, Mabel already agreed that me, her, and Grenda would hang out today!" Candy spoke up, grabbing Mabel's arm. Candy now wore a lab coat due to the career she's headed into. Mabel giggled.
"Yeah, sorry, Wendy, maybe another day!"
Wendy looked over at Dipper. "Sorry, Wendy, I got plans aswell. Me and Ford are thinking about getting the portal up and running again now that Bill isn't an issue. I should get a headstart for him." Dipper gave a smile before suddenly Soos pulled everyone into a hug again.
"Group hug!" Soos smiled. He let go of everyone. "Well, duders, you better get on moved in before you get as old as Stan is." Everyone giggled at Soos' stupid joke. Soos noticed the tourists waiting for him and waved as he headed off to go and continue with his job.
Dipper and Mabel grabbed their stuff respectively and headed to the Shack themself, the regular living area of it of course. They headed upstairs to the familiar attic space they'd spent the summers before in. "Ah, home sweet home away from home!" Mabel flopped onto the empty bed on her side of the room, taking in the smell. She sat up and began to unpack her stuff, starting with her bedding, still the same ol mostly pink and purple from before. Then came the new posters on the wall, and all the stuffed animals!
Dipper's side of the room remained simpler, navy blue bedding, a stack of books next to the bed, and some scientific tools laid at the foot. "Indeed it is. Gosh, every Summer this place feels smaller, yet still so large."
"You got that right, Bro, bro. Man, being 17 now, and we were only 12 when we saved the world! Isn't that so cray-cray?!" Mabel was rocking back and forth a little with all her energy.
"Honestly, it's hard to believe we've only had the normal weirdness of the town since then. Sometimes I still can't help, but feel like there's something going on we aren't seeing." Dipper hummed, now kinda in deep thought.
"Dipdot, not with this whole thing of Bill being alive again!" Mabel whined, "He's gone! We know this, even you're willing to get the portal back up and running. We got nothing to worry about!"
"I know, I know... Just felt a little too easy, to just erase him like that."
Mabel went and switched out her sweater for a yellow one with a bee on it. "Well, I'm gonna head over to Grenda's place. She got this cool new gaming console she wants to show off!"
"You have a good time, I better get working in the basement." Dipper picked up a satchel he had brought with him. He headed down towards the basement.
Mabel rolled her eyes as she grabbed her purse. She walked down to the main floor, and out the front door. She hummed as she started walking towards Grenda's place, a good distance across town. Candy came up and joined Mabel when noticing Mabel was heading the same way she was. "Hey, Candy! Am I the only one who hasn't seen the new console yet?"
"I haven't seen it either, some special company apparently, not any of the typical gaming companies that make consoles."
"Cool!, can't wait to see it then!" Mabel cheerfully then suddenly started running, instigating a race. Candy chased after Mabel, trying to get ahead. "try and catch me, Candy!" The two both giggled as they reached Grenda's doorstep. Mabel knocked on the door. Grenda opened the door, quickly pulling the two into a too-tight hug when seeing them.
"Mabel, Candy! You made it, you've just gotta see this!" Grenda's still low gruff voice spoke, she ran into the living room of her house, excitedly turning on the console labeled Chimera. The other two girls followed in seeing the logo appear on the tv. Grenda handed a controller to each of them as they all sat on the ground together.
"you got a Chimera?! Why didn't you say that?! This is like the best console on the market, I've heard all about it!" Mabel excitedly spieled. She'd been asking for one of these as a birthday present from her Mom and Dad all year. Now she was getting to play on one.
"Gotta thank Marius for it, He wants me to move in with him still, told him I can't yet though. In return he tries to make sure I got the same amazing stuff he does," Grenda said happily as she booted up a multi-player game for the group.
"Just another fun-filled summer for us girlfriends," Mabel gave a soft smile. She couldn't wait for the new adventures to begin.
