RIING!
The hallways were immediately filled up with teens. Daniel and Johnny just came out of class together.
”Ugh! Another boring day at this boring high school.” Johnny grumbled.
”Come on, it can’t be that bad.” Daniel insisted.
”Oh really? How can it be any better?”
“Because you’re with me. I am your best friend after all.” Daniel smiled.
“Huh. I never thought about that way. I didn’t think I had a best friend.” Johnny said. He couldn’t help but laugh after seeing Daniel’s facial expression.
”Okay first off, rude. And second, you gotta be more positive Johnny. School is almost over and you won’t have to worry about getting up early.”
“That is true.” Johnny agreed.
”Considering that the fact you never get up early.” Daniel mumbled.
”I’m sorry, what was that?”
”Oh nothing. I didn’t say anything.” Daniel said, trying to hide a smirk.
“Bullshit. You said something and I wanna know what you said.”
”I said, considering that the fact you never get up early.” Daniel said with pride.
“Oh. So I’m the one who doesn’t get up early? Okay, let’s do a bet.”
“20 dollars for which ever one of us doesn’t get up early. Starting this week.” Daniel replied, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Deal. But I have something to give you.” Johnny said.
Daniel’s heart began to race, “Oh. Is he gonna ask me?” Sadly no but he washed away his thoughts since they were interrupted by Johnny tickling him.
”Ah! Stop it Johnny! Hahaha!”
“Look who’s ticklish.” Johnny smiled.
”I’m serious! Hahaha! Stop!”
And Johnny does so. After Daniel catches his breath, he punches the blonde in his arm.
“Ow! What was that for?” Johnny laughed.
“That’s what you get for tickling me.” Daniel huffed.
“I’m sorry, did you say you wanted to be tickled again?”
“No. No. No! Stop! Hahaha!” Daniel laughs again.
And Johnny laughs too. This is too much fun. He loves hanging out with Daniel and Daniel loves hanging out with Johnny.

After school, Johnny and Daniel were discussing their plans for the weekend.
“So you wanna hang out at my pool in my backyard?” Johnny asked.
”Of course. You know I’ll beat you in a chicken fight.” Daniel smirked.
“Sure thing LaRusso.”
“Hey Johnny! Over here!”
“Well, there’s my queue. See you tomorrow Daniel.” Johnny said.
“See ya Johnny. Have fun at karate practice!” Daniel called out.
”I will!” Johnny called back.
Daniel sighed with happiness and then,
”Boo!”
Daniel jumped and behind him was his friend Ali, “Don’t scare me like that. You know I have bad nerves.”
Ali laughed, “Sorry, I forgot about that.”
”It’s okay. Honestly I thought that was pretty good. You got me good.” Daniel said.
”Yes I did.” She replied with a smirk.
”Take it all in Mills.” Daniel rolled his eyes with a smile.
“Sooo, how are you and Johnny?”
“We’re good. Still best friends with each other. But if I’m honest with you,” Daniel whispered in Ali’s ear, “I have a crush on him.”
Ali squealed with excitement, “I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! Ha! Guess Jimmy lost the bet.”
“Wait, you guys were betting on me?”
“Yeah. We knew you had a crush on Johnny. The clues were obvious Daniel. You always spend so much time together and he always tickles you.”
Daniel blushed, “Okay the tickling part wasn’t my fault. He just likes to do it.”
”That’s what I saying. I think Johnny likes you too.” Ali continued.
“No, that can’t be possible.” Daniel said.
”Yes it can be. Haven’t you noticed that he gives you little gifts and trinkets?”
“Well, yes. I have noticed that.” Daniel said.
”So that only means one thing Daniel.”
Daniel gasped, “You’re right Ali. I gotta tell him. I gotta—.”
”Woah there Daniel. You can’t just automatically tell Johnny that you have feelings for him.” Ali said.
”You’re right. I should make something for him. No. I should get something that he’ll like. I’ll write a note and give it to him in a small box.”
“Good idea. I’ll help you.”
“Yes because there’s nothing in the world that I want than to be with Johnny Lawrence.”
“Let’s go.” Ali takes Daniel’s wrist and drags him to her car.

“I hope this goes as planned Ali.” Daniel said. He has a small box in his hands.
”It should because if it doesn’t, then Johnny will get no mercy.”
“Calm down Mills.” Daniel laughed.
”Sorry, protective friend switch came on.” Ali said.
“I bet it did. Alright, I’m gonna go give it to him. You wait here.” Daniel said.
”Gotcha. We’ll be waiting.”
”We’ll”?” Daniel asked.
”Yeah.” Ali smiled. Four other heads popped in, “Me, Dutch, Tommy, Bobby, and Jimmy.”
“Oh. Thank you guys. I wasn’t really expecting a crowd.”
“Don’t worry. Think of us as more as backup than a crowd.” Bobby said.
“Okay, I will.” Daniel smiled.
”You got this Daniel.” Jimmy added.
“Thanks. I’ll be back.”
When he left, Ali turned to the boys, “Prepare the confetti cannons.”
“Yes ma’am!”

Daniel’s hand were sweating. He was nervous to walk up to Johnny and give him his gift but he had to do it. He saw Johnny leaning against the wall, listening to his walkman.
Now was his chance.
“Hey Johnny!” Just as he began walking up to Johnny, a girl ran up to the blonde instead.
Daniel stopped in his tracks.

Daniel felt a little bit lifeless.

“Hey Daniel. Was there something you wanted to tell me?” Johnny asked.

”Um, I- no. It’s not important.” Daniel said with a smile, trying to hold back his tears in the process.
”Oh. Okay. What’s that in your hand?”
”Oh this? This is for you but I can see you’re a little busy.”
“No I’m not.” Johnny said. “I’m never too busy for you.”
“Okay. Well, here you go. I’ll see you later on today at your house I guess.” Daniel said, walking away.
“Um, okay. See ya Daniel.” Johnny replied, holding the box in his hands feeling confused.

Daniel walked out of the school, with his head down. Then a burst of confetti shot out from both sides of him.
“So, how’d it go?” Ali asked.
”What did he say?” Jimmy asked.
”H-He um— he didn’t say anything.” Daniel said.
”What?” They all parroted.
”What happened?” Bobby asked.

Daniel broke down crying. He ran away from his friends, trying to find a place to be alone.
Then Johnny came out of the school, “Where’s Daniel?”
“He began crying and then he ran off.” Tommy said.
Johnny sighed, “I’ll be back.”
When he left, Dutch turned to group, “Good thing we have another confetti cannon.”
”Yeah. Get them ready again.” Ali said.
”Yes ma’am!”

Daniel was in the bleachers, crying to himself. He knew it was too good to be true. He and Johnny have so many fun memories with each other. All Daniel wanted was to start a journey with Johnny. That’s all he wants.

Daniel looked up and saw Johnny, “What do you want?” He asked coldly.
Johnny sat down next to him, pulling him close, “I read your note and your gift.”
“Y-You did?” Daniel sniffed.
”Yeah.” Johnny took something out of his pocket and slid it on Daniel’s finger,
“I feel the same way about you too.”
“Really?”
“For as long as I can remember. We’ve been best friends ever since you moved here. As I got to know you throughout our years in high school, I developed a crush on you but I was just too afraid to admit it to you.” Johnny explained.
”Wow. I thought that girl who was with you—“
”Oh her? No. She’s just a friend of mine. She told me to come and find you and then she told me some other thing. I don’t remember what it was. I was too busy worrying about you.”
“You care about me?” Daniel asked as looked up at Johnny.
”Of course I do. I love you.” Johnny smiled.
Daniel also smiled, “I love you too.”
“Now I remember what I was going to do.”
“What was it?”
”This.” Johnny said. He took Daniel’s face into his hands and kissed him.
Lots of emotions ran through Daniel’s mind but that didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered was that he was kissing his best friend. It felt right.
“So you like the rings?” Daniel asked.
”Yeah. I love them but I love you more.” Johnny replied.
They hugged each other tightly with smiles both on their faces.

They walked back together, holding hands and then confetti shot out from two cannons beside them.
“It’s official! They’re a couple!” Jimmy cheered.
”Yes!” Bobby smiled.
”Ah so when’s the wedding?” Tommy asked.
Daniel blushed, “There isn’t gonna be a wedding.”
“Yes there is. I see the rings on your guys’ fingers. Bobby will be the priest and I’ll be your best man.”
“No. These are promise rings.” Daniel said.
“Alright. Let’s do it.” Johnny replied.
”What?!” Daniel shouted.
”I’m joking.” Johnny laughed.
”You better be.” Daniel said. “But, we can do role play. At Johnny’s house tomorrow night.”
“Best idea ever!” Ali squealed.
”Daniel LaRusso is going to be my bride tomorrow night.” Johnny said.
”And Johnny Lawrence is going to be my husband tomorrow night.” Daniel replied.
They smiled again and shared another kiss.

The so called “wedding” went well the following night.
Johnny role played as the husband and Daniel role played as the wife.
Ali thought it would be a good idea to put Daniel in a white dress with the bride’s veil.
It was very idiotic but that’s the type of friends that Johnny and Daniel have.
“You may now kiss the bride.” Bobby said trying not to laugh.
Daniel tried not to laugh either but after he and Johnny kissed, he broke out laughing.
“Best wedding ever.” He said between laughs.
“You got that right.” Johnny smiled.
Daniel caught his breath and smiled back, “I love you.”
”I love you too.”
And they kiss again but this time, a little bit longer.
