1984
Daniel LaRusso was talking to his best friend, Ali Mills. They were talking about their plans for this weekend after school.
”So you wanna go to the mall?” Ali asked.
”Sure. There’s something there that I want.” Daniel said.
”Oh yeah? What was it?”
“It was a nice little emerald ring.” Daniel blushed.
”Aww. I didn’t think you were into jewelry Daniel.” Ali smiled.
”I am. I have been into it ever since I was little. I blame my mom.”
“I bet you do.”
They both laughed but the laughter died down when Daniel spotted a tall blonde with four other guys around him.
Daniel’s face turned red and his heart began pounding in his chest.
Putting my defenses up

If I ever did that, I think I'd have a heart attack
The blonde was hot. Handsome. Beautiful. And Gorgeous!
“Daniel? Earth to Daniel.” Ali said.
”Huh? What?”
“Are you okay?”
“Y-Yeah. I’m fine. Just—“ Daniel sighed with happiness.
”Who are you looking— Oh. I see you have a crush on my ex.” Ali smirked.
”Wait—that’s your ex?” Daniel asked.
“Yeah but I see you have your eye on him.”
”Oh. N-No. I-I just thought he was— you know.” Daniel stuttered out.
“Relax Daniel. I don’t have a problem with you liking my ex. Maybe you should talk to him.” Ali said.
”What? No. No. No. I can’t do that. They’re—um,”
“Don’t worry Daniel, I’m friends with Johnny’s friends.”
“That’s his name? Johnny?” Daniel’s heart skipped a beat.
“Yeah. Come on, I’ll take you over there to him.” Ali replied. She took Daniel by his wrist and dragged him over to the group.

“Hey guys.” Ali greeted the group.
”Hi Ali. Who’s your friend?” One boy asked.
“Oh. This is Daniel. Daniel, this is Tommy, Jimmy, Bobby, Dutch and Johnny.”
“Hi Daniel.” They all said.
”Um—h-hi.” Daniel stuttered.
”Is he okay?” Johnny asked.
”Yeah he’s just nervous.”
”About what?” Jimmy asked.
Ali looked at Daniel who shook his head furiously but when she smirked, he knew he was in trouble.
”Well, I caught daniel looking at Johnny. He has a crush on him.”
Daniel blushed so hard to point where he looked like a tomato.
”Oooo! Daniel has a crush on you Johnny.” Bobby cooed.
”Lovey Dovey.” Tommy added.
“Sweep him on his feet Johnny.” Jimmy said.
“Oh Johnny, take me away to land of fantasy.” Dutch teased.
“Stop it you guys.” Daniel said. “It’s not funny. I didn’t mean for this to happen.”
“Come on Daniel. It’s completely fine with us. If you like Johnny then you like him. He is a good looking guys after all.” Bobby responds.
“Yeah.” Daniel rubbed his arm.
Johnny smiled, “So you like me?”
“Y-Yeah.”
“Nice. Do you wanna hang out tomorrow?”
Daniel looked at Ali who nodded. He then looks back at Johnny, “Sure. I-I’d love that.”
When I don't care, I can play 'em like a Ken doll
Won't wash my hair, then make 'em bounce like a basketball

The hung out the next day. They went to mall to shop and browse to for things they liked. They also got to know each other better. Daniel loved jewelry and Johnny loved classic rock.
“Ali told me there was a ring you had your eye on. Where is it?” Johnny asked. They were in the jewelry store looking around for the ring Daniel looked at with Ali.
“Um—there! There it is.” Daniel rushed over to the area where the ring was. “It’s so beautiful, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. That’s a nice ring.” Johnny said. “How much is it?”

Paint my nails and wear high heels
Yes, you make me so nervous that I just can't hold your hand
“It’s $50.” Daniel said ashamed.
“See what you like?” The lady behind the counter asked.
”Yeah. That little emerald ring right there, I’d like to get that.” Johnny said.
”Oh no, Johnny you don’t have to do that.” Daniel replied.
“I know but I want to.”
“Herr you go. One emerald ring for your special boyfriend.” The lady smiled.
“Thank you.” Johnny said. He handed the small bag to Daniel. “There you go.” He smiled.
Daniel blushed and smiled back, “Thank you.” His heart was too busy thumping loudly in his chest.

Daniel kept on admiring the ring on his finger. He couldn’t thank Johnny enough for getting it for him.
“Once again, thank you Johnny. You didn’t have to get this for me you know.”
“I know but I want to make you happy.” Johnny said.
”But we’ve only got to know each other today. You can’t possibly want to make me happy. We’re not even dating.” Daniel replied.
”Then we’ll start dating now.”
“What?”
“We’ll start dating now.” Johnny repeated.
The feelings got lost in my lungs
They're burning, I'd rather be numb (rather be numb)

So scared, I take off, and I run
I'm flying too close to the sun
And I burst into fla-fla-flames
Daniel just stared at Johnny. Blue looked at brown. Then Johnny thought of something, “Come on.” He takes Daniel’s hand and takes him outside of the mall.
It was a beautiful evening. The sun was about to set. “Wow. The sunset is so beautiful.” Daniel said.
”Yeah it is. But it’s not as beautiful as you.” Johnny said.

They both looked at each other and smiled. Then then got closer to each other, their lips parted and then they kissed.
So I'm putting my defenses up

They pulled back and watched the sunset together, close to each other.
