"How are you feeling right now, Will?" Hannibal asked.
Will was sitting across from hannibal. No, next to. No, they were in Hannibal's bed. It is their bed, he remembers. His mouth feels like molasses. His heart was beating rapidly. His mind was covered in a thick fog. No, more like blocked by a thick forest trees.
Hannibal waited for Will to take stock of himself. Though, to Hannibal's concurn, he was not gripping onto his surroundings.
Will was not in his room. He was in a forest. The forest rung with Jack Crawford's voice. He was going over crime scenes, detail by detail. Will noticed his wrong assumptions like he was punched with them. He searched for Jack. This effort was fruitless, as the branches were slowly morphing into deer antlers. He heard Hannibal's voice suddenly.
"William! You are in our room. It is 3:39 am. You are Will Graham." He was trying to keep the worry out of his voice.
Will blinked. Yes. He saw Hannibal. It was dark, but his eyes had been open long enough to adjust themselves accordingly. Will tried to focus on Hannibal, but he felt suffocated. He was sweating profusely and felt as though it was collecting around him. Drowning him. He struggled to breath.
Will panted with quick breaths. "Han-han-h-" he could not finish the name, as his breathing was leaving his control.
Hannibal quickly held both of Will's hands. "You are okay. Focus on me, will. We are safe. We are home."
Will could feel himself drifting, panicked, he tried to cling to Hannibal like a floating device. He wrapped his arm's tightly around the larger man. Hannibal put an arm around Will, and used the other to press Will's head to his chest. He kept his heart rate steady as he let Will listen. Will calmed slightly at the hold, and then his breathing slowed at hearing Hannibal's heartbeat. Hannibal held Will there, unmoving. He did not seem to care about the sweat dripping off of his lover.
"Can you stand, Will?" Hannibal asked, after his breathing returned to a, at least mostly, normal rythem.
Will nodded. He swung his legs over the side of the bed. Upon standing though, his knees mediately gave out, causing him to fall back to his sitting position. Even in the dark, Hannibal could see the glint of stubbornness in Will's eyes. He gave a small smile as he stood up, thankful to see Will acting more like himself. He went to will, and picked him up easily. Will sighed in defeat as he was carried to the kitchen, and sat in a chair.
"You need to drink some water. I will also be getting you an ice pack to put on your head because you are running a fever again." Hannibal was calm now, much more confident in his medical abbilities to treat this than his soothing abilities.
Will was still out of it for the most part. He zoned out whenever Hannibal left his side. Thankfully these periods of time were not long. Hannibal brought him a glass of ice water first. Hannibal thought Will would chug the water, but Hannibal's teachings must be getting to him finally. He only shipped it, knowing it was better for his body than chugging the whole glass. After a minute of checking on Will, Hannibal went away again. This time Will had a cold glass in his hand to ground him, he was glad it was there.
Hannibal returned to Will's side a few minutes later with an ice pack. He used a hand towel to wrap it around Will's head. Once satisfied the pack would stay put, he sat down next to will.
"Is there anything else you need from me?" Hannibal was running a check list in his head.
Will thought for a moment before nodding. He didn't speak, instead opening his arms. Hannibal was used to Will becoming nonverbal after his episodes, so the silence was not a surprise. He smiled at Will opening his arms. He took not time at all before picking up will and setting him in his own lap, before wrapping his arms around him securely. Will wrapped his arms around Hannibal's shoulders, and berried his face in the other's chest. They stayed like this until the sun started to peer through the kitchen window. Will never slept after an episode, even if it did exhaust him. He stayed in Hannibal's arms until his hunger won out. Standing and letting Hannibal cook for them. As he always did.
The day would be normal after the night he had, as it was not the first time this has happened. The only difference being a more silent and clingy Will. Hannibal wouldn't complain.
