Itto’s eyes fluttered open, a ray of sun shining in his face. He groaned, groggily reaching his hand up to shield his eyes from the blinding light. With the shade that his hand provided, the rest of Itto’s vision cleared as he blinked away the sleep. He smiled at the familiar tuft of brown and white hair, one ear smushed against the pillow and the other occasionally flicking at the air. Itto pulled Gorou closer, shutting his eyes once more and sighing.
“Dada.”
Itto opened his eyes again, not sure whether he really heard the voice or was just in a half-asleep state.
“Dada!”
Another voice called, and Itto knew that it wasn’t a dream. He groaned, turning onto his back. He saw two little faces peeking at him from his side of the bed.
“Dada, I’m hungry!”
One whined, his ears pinned back against his head in frustration, gripping and pulling on the bed sheet with his small black fingernails. His horned sister poked his head, giving him a stern look.
“Don’t be mean to dada, Kanaye.”
“Shut up Hiromi! And don’t touch my ears!”
“I didn’t touch your ears.”
“Did too!”
Itto sighed, rubbing his face. He sat up, catching both children’s attention, and turned to swing his legs out of the bed. They both backed up quickly, so as to not be flung across the room. They looked up at their dad and his bedhead.
“Alright alright kiddos, let’s get some grub. Just try not to wake up your-”
“AAAAAAAHH!”
Itto was caught off guard when a third little person jumped onto the bed, landing flat between Gorou and Itto. Gorou sat up immediately, looking around in confusion.
“...mom.” Itto finished with a desolate look at the third kid that found a way to break the morning peace.
“Dada! Mama! Good monin!”
The girl’s tail wagged fervently as she hopped onto Gorou, nuzzling her horns into his shirt.
“Ah ah careful Etsu, you’ll scratch me again.” Gorou smiled, holding the bundle of energy tightly in his arms. He looked up and saw Kanaye and Hiromi, looking for a fourth head.
“I think Yasuo is still asleep, I’ll go wake ‘em up.”
Itto got up out of bed, stretching his arms in the air and trudging out of the room with two pairs of feet pattering behind him. Etsu slid out of the bed, lightly grabbing Gorou’s arm.
“Mama we go park today!”
She squealed, her tail basically a blur at this point. Gorou smiled, getting out of bed and picking her up.
“Park later, let’s get breakfast first, hm?” Gorou carried her out of the bedroom and into the living room. On the couch there was Yasuo, softly patting Ushi who was lying on the ground with his eyes shut. Gorou raised an eyebrow, putting down Etsu and going into the kitchen.
“Alright kiddos, we’re about to make the world’s most awesomest breakfast ever!” Itto cheered, and Kanaye and Hiromi cheered with him. Gorou folded his arms.
“No no no, this spells disaster. I can barely get you to make cereal without it exploding.” Gorou walked up to Itto, looking up at him sternly. Itto groaned, waving the spatula in the air.
“Come on babe this is just a one time thing! And I promise I won’t burn anything this time! Right kids?” Itto pointed at the space where the two kids just were, but are now gone.
“I wanna do it, I wanna do it! Let go, Dada said I could!” Kanaye was attempting to tug a bowl of uncooked rice from Hiromi, who shook her head and pulled back.
“No! You make a mess! Let Dada do it!”
Before either parents could step in, rice was flying into the air and onto the floor. Itto slowly turned to Gorou with a grin on his face.
“Haha, kids are so-”
“Out! Out out out!” Gorou yelled, pushing all three of them out of the kitchen.
Itto scratched his head in confusion, not sure why he was kicked out when as far as he was concerned, the kids had everything to do with it. He shook the thought out of his mind, walking over to the couch and falling back onto it with a sigh. He looked over at Yasuo, who was still quietly petting Ushi. He placed his hand on his head, rubbing his hair. Yasuo pouted, reaching up and trying to push the hand away.
“You mess up my hair…” The boy softly whined, reaching up and smoothing down his furry ears and fixing his bangs in front of his horns. Itto smiled down at him.
“I got an idea, how about we all go outside and play with Ushi while mama cooks up some grub?” Itto turned to the three other kids, who nodded their heads eagerly. He got up and walked over to the front door, Ushi following him. He was about to open the door when Hiromi piped up behind him.
“Dada, we still in our jamas.”
Itto looked down, realizing he was wearing nothing but boxers and his children were still in their onesies.
“Oooo, good call there Mimi. Let’s get ready!”
Gorou was still in the kitchen, humming to himself as he flipped the fish around on the skillet. He heard squealing outside, and looked out of the window in front of the sink to see Itto, the four kids and Ushi playing in the field beside their house. He smiled, looking at them fondly. He felt so lucky to have found an alpha like Itto to be his partner, and to father their family. Gorou turned his attention back to the skillet, continuing to hum as the meat sizzled away. His tail swished away behind him in happiness.
