It was the Beacon Dance, a time for people to relax and be themselves without worrying about anything.
However Ruby who was excited for it, was rather depressed when the time came.
She didn’t have anyone to dance with her, nor did she want to dance with anyone— Well, except for one person:
Professor Ozpin,
She’s always had a bit of a crush on him, but it was blossoming,
She had no interest in guys, or girls for that matter, she was too young to really care, but that day when she got into Beacon Academy, when she met him,
She couldn’t help but to fall in love.
So when the dance came she knew she couldn’t ask him, that would not only be inappropriate for him, but also the fear of rejection.
Though he was there, with Glynda obviously, she waited until she left his side, which eventually happened.
As she was walking up to Ozpin she felt her heart beat, she could only think about dancing with him.
She felt like a dumb teenager with a crush, which was what it was.
“Ah, Miss Rose, I’m glad you could come.” “Your dress looks nice.” She felt her face turn red, “Thank you, your…”
She couldn’t think about anything to say, so she blurted out the first thing that came to mind “—Hair,” She coughs, “Your hair looks really nice today!!”
She grabs her hand to make sure she doesn’t cover her face subconsciously.
“Thank you Miss Rose.” “I assume your partner will be here soon?”
“Actually, I didn’t ask anyone to come with me to the dance…” “So you’re here alone…?” She nods her head.
He laughs a bit, “Well, it won’t be long until the parties over.”
An hour passes as Ruby and Ozpin talk about various things, just mostly about Team RWBY, but they decided to clean up, though Ruby volunteered to help.
Though Glynda did most of the work as Ruby watched while admiring her semblance.
Though she sees Ozpin out of the corner of her eye and went to talk to him. “Oh, and also, Professor Ozpin” She becomes suddenly nervous. “Thank you.”
“For what, Miss Rose?” “For talking to me.” “You claim that I was alone, but I wasn’t with you…”
They both notice that Glynda left, “Oh, I guess I couldn’t help” She nervously laughs.
“Miss Rose, do you know how to dance?” She slightly jumps in excitement, “I mean, I don’t—“ She stutters. “Even though this parties over, do you want to dance with me?”
