“Hah! S-shit!” Lucifer moaned.
Alastor watched Lucifer’s face with a strained expression.
Vox watched Alastor’s face with a grin.
“Is it the way he gets angry?” Vox goaded. Another wire was added with a squelch. Lucifer’s eyes watered. “Or is it the way he trembles? The way he cries?”
Alastor’s antlers were growing at an alarming rate. His eyes were constantly flickering to radio dials, while his shadow paced on the floor in distress.
“Vox…” Alastor warned. His ears were pressed down onto his head.

Summary
Vincent Whittman, an up and coming weather reporter, feels a void in his heart. He’s worked hard to get where he is, but he can’t help but feel like it isn’t enough. Vincent knows he can be bigger, reach greater heights, and glow even brighter. In his thirst for power and attention, he summons The Devil, Lucifer. Lucifer, begrudgingly charmed by Vincent’s personality and flowery compliments, decides to help him in his pursuit for fame. As Vincent and Lucifer spend more time together, Vincent becomes increasingly obsessed with him, and his mental state becomes increasingly unraveled. In this game of manipulation and manic fixations, a truly odd relationship develops between a self-obsessed serial killer and The Devil himself.

something appears to occur to vox all of a sudden, as he looks down at angel with alarm, and his gaze proceeds to flicker between him and the room around them.
“wait a minute—how long have i been dead?”
angel blinks up at him. “wh—… two years. why?”
vox sputters, expression tightening with bewilderment. “that can’t be fucking right—” he starts, prying angel off of him with incredible ease—a kind of strength he’d never exhibited in life. “i know for a fact i’ve been in hell at least seventy years. either there’s some kind of fuckery going on with the passage of time there—which wouldn’t be that surprising, i guess—or your little …” he gestures vaguely with his long, talon-like claws, “… séance, here, got its wires crossed somewhere.”

after his serial killer, cult leader (ex-)boyfriend dies in a mass suicide, angel spends two years studying the occult to try to communicate with him in the next life. when he’s finally able to summon him, he arrives looking much different than he remembers, and going by a new name—but either way, angel is determined to get through to him after their messy breakup leaves him desperate for closure.
