“We should split up- everyone stay in groups of two. Robin?”
Robin raised her eyebrows but saluted silently nonetheless. Nancy ignored the protest of the others and quickly led her secret girlfriend up the stairs. The pair entered the first bedroom they saw, Nancy quickly shutting the door behind them. The minute that door closed, Nancy flung her arms around Robin, pulling her into a tight hug. Robin, surprised at the sudden intimacy, gently stroked Nancy’s hair, hugging her back.
“You okay there, Nance?” She laughed quietly.
“I’m scared.” Nancy buried her head in Robin’s shoulder, tears spilling from her eyes and soaking Robins jacket.
“Oh, Nance.” Robin hugged her tighter. “It’s okay, we’ll sort it out, it’s not like we haven’t done it before!”
“Not about that, Rob..” Nancy mumbled, “About us.”
“Us? What about us?”
“If Vecna finds out surely that means everyone finds out. And I’m scared. About everyone finding out, about what happens then, and Jonathan and-“
“We’ll deal with that if we come to it, Nancy. I promise you, we’ll be okay.”
“I don’t wanna lose you.”
“You won’t.”
Planting a kiss on Nancy’s forehead, Robin locked eyes with the slightly shorter girl before her. She couldn’t believe how lucky she was.
When Robin had first met Nancy Wheeler in Junior year, she thought she was beautiful. She was smart, funny, kind and god was she pretty. Long mousy brown hair that curled just past her shoulders, stunning blueish greyish eyes, and such a cute smile. She was perfect- if a little nerdy- and of course all the boys wanted to go out with her. Especially Steve Harrington. First Vikki now Nancy, couldn’t Robin ever have a shot?
Robin smiled to herself at the memory, how young and naïve the pair had been back then. Little did she know at the time the friendship she’d have with Steve and the… “friendship” she’d develop with Nancy herself…
Robin pushed Nancy back onto the bed behind them.
“Rob, now really doesn’t seem like the best time to-“ Nancy was cut off as Robin’s lips met hers.
“I’m not going anywhere. I love you, Nancy Wheeler.”
Nancy blushed, before pulling Robin’s lips to hers once more. Kissing Robin felt so different to anything Nancy had ever done before- her lips were so soft and delicate. Kissing Robin felt like electricity, like a current flowing through her veins. Kissing Robin was exciting. It was new. Every time they kissed Nancy felt her heart flutter with a combination of nervousness and sheer glee. She never saw anything wrong with lesbians, though her parents could never understand it and Steve always seemed a bit iffy on the subject and her brother and-
“Nance?”
“Yeah? Sorry?”
“God, Nance, I thought Vecna got you- you were practically in a trance of your very own then!” Robin kissed the tip of Nancy’s nose, heaving herself up off the old rickety bed. “Come on, lets go find the others.”
“Can we stay for just a little longer… I like it when its just us.” Nancy pleaded. Robin giggled, folding her arms
“Say please.”“What?”
“Guess we’ll go find the others then…” Robin turned towards the door, dragging her feet across the floor as Nancy sat cross legged on the bed behind. After her painstakingly slow journey, Robin finally reached the door. She clasped the doorknob before turning to look at her girlfriend, smirking. “Bye, Nancy….”
“Ugh, fine, please can we stay, Robin.”
Robin grinned, and sat back down on the bed, opening up her arms to Nancy once more. The smaller girl snuggled in close, her head tilted up towards that of her girlfriend.
“I love you too, Robin Buckley.”
