They were surrounded, Steve was badly injured. Nancy was in a trance, Robin was scared. They all sat in silence. Thinking so hard. Not knowing what to do, Eddie had sat there with his knees to his chest. Staring off. Staring. Eddie was trying to remember so many things in his life, nothing seemed important. His mom died when he was younger, and for years his dad was effected by it. During the summer after 8th grade his dad drunk so much, he got liver cancer. Stage 4. He died within a couple of months. Since then he was a troubled kid. Living with his uncle who always tried to be there for him. It never really worked, he got into drugs and did bad in school. Now he witnessed two people die before him. Was this it? Was this how he was gonna end his life? Scared out of his mind not able to do anything or leave anything behind. He was so tired. But something pulled at his heart. For so long. He turned to look at him, Steve Harrington. He, he was everything to him. He was so scared he couldn’t admit it. His lip shook. Tears filled his eyes. Staring at him, he went from Robin, who held herself and cried into her legs. Nancy who was walking around, and then he thought of Dustin. Mike. Lucas. His band. His uncle. Everyone. If he didn’t do anything soon, he was gonna loose them all. And he would regret the fuck out of it. He doesn’t have much to live for. He had tapped his foot and thought, steve spoke of music, which made Eddie perk up. He turned to Steve.
“I have a plan.” Nancy, Robin, and Steve looked at him. Eddie had looked between them. “I can play my guitar. Music. To distract them. While you guys find a way out. You said music helps us right? Well I can play anything.” Steve has looked at the gang. Nancy spoke up. “But…how would we get you out?” Eddie looked down and shrugged. “I’ll figure it out. I’ll follow you guys once it happens. Right?” They nodded. Though Eddie lied, this wasn’t the plan. Not at all. He stood up and nodded. “Well let’s go. I don’t think my trailer is far from here.” He had helped steve up. Helping him quickly as they quickly made their way to Eddie’s trailer. He grabbed his guitar. And then made their way back. A lot of the portals were blocked, the only that was open was the one in the house, but the bats were blocking it, unlike the other one which were unreachable. Eddie’s real plan was to play music, to distract all the bats. To get them to the portal. In this walkies were able to work. He had went to a secert place as the others hid. Radioing Dustin.
“Dustin. Dustin do you copy?
“I copy, Eddie”
Eddie nodded and blinked, tears filled his eyes. “Hey buddie. Go to Vecnas house. Their is a portal there, Steve, Robin, and Nancy will be coming from it. Bring supplies.”
Dustin had stopped and thought. “Ok…I’ll get the gang. What will happen to you?”
Eddie laid his head against the wall. Wiping his tears. “I…I won’t be making it Dustin. I’m…tired of running. I’m sorry kid…im so sorry.”
Dustin had gotten on “no Eddie no-“ Eddie turned it off. Breathing in and out, he was crying. After a few minutes he had gotten himself calmed. Before he got up and went to where they were. Steve had smiled as he saw Eddie and stared to explain how they were gonna get Eddie out before he stopped when he noticed Eddie looked at him with those brown puppy eyes, his lip quivering. And tears going down his face. Steve stopped. “Eddie- Eddie what’s wrong?” He didn’t speak, then Robin spoke up. “He’s not coming back with us.” Steve had looked at Robin and then at Eddie. “No… no you can’t be possibly be thinking that.” Eddie walked over and put his hand on Steve’s faces and looked it over. Looking between his eyes. His nose, his lips, his hair, his everything. Tears fell. Steve was so confused what he was doing. “Steve. I don’t…have anything. No one at home is waiting for me…for so long I kept everything inside of me. From you. You…Steve. I liked you for years. Years. I could never tell you. I was so scared. And since I’ve been back with you, I never realized how much I loved you until now. Steve Harrington. I’m in love with you. Since 9TH grade science class. You…you are my everything. But I know nothing will make up for it. I always. I always run away. I’ve been running my whole life. But, I…I’m willing to fight for you” he turned to Robin and Nancy. “For them” he turned back and looked into Steve’s eyes, where those tears falling down his pretty face. Eddie wiped them. “Please don’t cry…I love you. I love you. So much. More than you know Steve Harrington. But…I have to do this. For us. I need to be a hero for one day…just for one day.” Steve shook his head. “Eddie-“ Eddie kissed him. It was soft and loving. Steve kissed back. Holding Eddie close. Eddie had then pulled away and Steve didn’t let go. He held him close. Before it was too long Eddie pulled away, he looked over his face. He kissed his hand, and placed it against his lips. “A forever kiss.” Steve looked over him as Eddie started to leave as he stopped, looking back. Smiling. “I’ll see you later King Steve” he then stuck his tongue out and left. Steve had broke. Nancy hugged him. So did Robin. They just cried. Before they had to gain it together and get ready.
Eddie had made his way to the roof, running through the house to the attic and to the top. He pulled the radio out and turned it on. “Are you there Dustin?” Dustin had responded. “Yeah…I’m here.” He seemed he has been crying. Eddie breathed out. “Their on their way. Be sure it’s open. Use something soft for their landing. So their safe.” Dustin had nodded. “Yeah…I got it.” Eddie had paused. Before speaking again. “Dustin.” Dustin took a second but he responded, with a cracky voice. He was crying. “You are…one of the best people I met. Take care of the club alright? You’re the future of it. You’re my friend Dustin.” Dustin had responded. “I will. Forever. For you.” Eddie had nodded and smiled. “Good….goodbye Dustin” … “goodbye Eddie” he then turned the thing off and put it on his side. He looked up to the sky. Kissing his lips and lifting it up in the air. “A forever kiss…Is never a goodbye.” He then strummed the guitar, and quickly started to play. This was the cue for them. Robin, Nancy, and Steve had started to go, running throughout to the house to the portal. Once they got there, Steve had helped Robin up. As well as Nancy. They had encouraged him to come. Steve stared. Then he shook his head. “I can’t leave Eddie….I’m not leaving Eddie.” He then too, kissed his lips. “A forever kiss, is never a goodbye.” They screamed out for him, Steve had started to run. Eddie had started to get some bats going around him, trying to stop him, but he kept playing. Steve was running. For Eddie. For him. He loved him back, and he wasn’t gonna loose him so soon. Not after everything. The bats started to attack Eddie he swooped at them. They started to bite his hands his leg. He screamed out as he fell to his
knees. They kept attacking him. Steve had made his way up and found Eddie. His eyes widened in fear. “EDDIE!” Steve ran and grabbed the oar he had took when he was running, beating them down. He then quickly slide to Eddie’s side who looked at him. “What are you doing?” Steve smiled. “You gave me a forever kiss…I know what that means. A forever kiss is never a goodbye. And I’m not letting you say goodbye to me. To us. To them. They need you. I need you. You think you have nothing. But you have me. Them.” Eddie had looked at him with those eyes, Steve had then kissed him. Eddie had melted and kissed back, before he pulled away and helped Eddie up. Quickly he made the way to the portal.
He made it to the spot with Eddie as the others looked in shock, he got Eddie. “Come on!” “Hurry!!” many of them started to shout. Eddie had been the first to go, then Steve. Steve ended up landing next to Eddie. Who had quickly wrapped his arms around the uncontrollable crying Eddie after he sat up to make sure he was ok. “I got you. I got you. I’m never letting go.” Robin had then came in, Nancy, Dustin, Max, Lucas. All coming in and hugging Eddie. Dustin speaking up.
“We love you eddie. We love you so much. Never do that again” Eddie had nodded as he laid against Steve’s chest. Who held him. Whispering things. “I love you. I got you. I got you.” And Steve always had him.
He never let go.
