Beomgyu delivered the ashes and sage to his mom, his mom lived with her dog in a secluded area filled with woods, after that, there were some eerie houses on the side and a huge road in middle.
"Bye mom, I'm going now" Beomgyu said, standing up from the couch.
"Its getting late, stay here, it'll be midnight by the time you'll reach home."
"I would love to but I have classes at the morning mom, they'll be more far away from here"
"Alright, be sure to go home asap, and thanks for bringing me supplies for my spell sweetie" Beomgyu kissed her cheek and bid her goodbye.
Beomgyu was the son of a witch and a human. Witches, monsters, vampires did exist but they were a part of supernaturals. They were in shadows, hidden from public eyes, so no one really talked about them openly.
But Beomgyu always had looked up to his mom. She was an amazing witch, she was undercover as a retired nurse and continued to nurse people. She also lifted curses, but that was often hidden for safety reasons.
Beomgyu walked from the pathway in woods to the road, it was getting darker and colder, the wind rose up too. He looked at his phone, it was 7PM, his apartment was about 1 hour away more, and his phone battery was about to die. He quickly called Yeonjun, his roomie, before it died,
"Yo Beoms, whatsup?"
"Hyung, my phone's battery is about to die and I'm coming back from mom's"
"That forest? Do you want me to pick you up?"
"No, I'll arrive in about 1 hour"
"Alright, be back quick Beoms, my senses are telling me the weather will get bad"
"okay hyung, don't worry, I'll come back in alive"
"Don't joke like that! Be back soon"
"Okaay~ Bye hyung" Beomgyu cut the call.
He was now on the road, though it was really dark and he had to be on alarm. He saw a taxi, he looked at his pocket "fuck, I forgot my wallet at mom's.. how bad could this day be?" He was already half way there...
He cursed, and walked as fast as he could, as if gods heard him, it started raining light but was turning heavy after few more steps.
He was drenched as hell and he still had 30 minutes to go, he didn't plan to get sick but maybe it was in his destiny now.
Suddenly a thought striked Beomgyu, 'should I?.. no that's too dangerous.. but what choice do I have?'
He walked up to a eerie villa, there stood a mansion like building, it had white build, looked like some luxurious person lived there.
In front, there was a black painted gateway and a garden full of wildly grown roses and white butterflies sitting on them prettily. It was a scary gamble, but he needs a place to stay until the storm passes, he came too far to go back to his mom's.
He rang the bell, it was one of those he had seen in those spy movies, the ones in which the visitor and the owner can communicate but only visitor's face is visible.
"who's this?" a voice spoke, .
"Um.. I'm sorry to disturb you but can I stay until the storm passes? " Beomgyu asked.
"hmm...."
"Please! I'll be very grateful" He pleaded
"alright, only until the storm ends"
"Thank you very much sir!" Beomgyu bowed down.
The gates creakingly opened and Beomgyu walked down the path to the front door. It had few stairs until you are face-to-face with the door. The earthy smell and the smell of roses filled his nose for every single moment he was there, it was calming yet strangely metallic. He noticed there were red butterflies on the red roses. He knocked on the door.
The owner had opened it, he had worn white inner wear with a long black fur coat that came down to his knees. He had silver and blue rings on his left hand and few bracelets in his right. He had a sapphire necklace as well, his eyes were big black orbs, the taller looked tired and hair were messy.
"Hello, you must be the owner, thank you so much" He bowed again before he sneezed, it was heavily raining so Beomgyu was leaking water everywhere, whether it'd be in the soles of his shoes or his hair.
"welcome, I'm Choi Soobin, the owner of this villa." Soobin sided for Beomgyu to enter.
"Um.. can I bath?" Beomgyu asked in a meek voice, not sure how to converse with the strange man.
"sure, I'll warm it up, you'll find a wardrobe in there as well"
'Wow, a wardrobe in the bath, this stranger must be rich' Beomgyu thought to himself.
"the bath is getting warm, you can go. I'll make you some hot chocolate" Soobin said as he walked to the kitchen
Beomgyu went into and closed the door, and sat in the bathtub, hell.. he really went inside a strangers house for stay.. he should've stayed with mom.
After bathing, he got out and saw Soobin placing one cup on the table and taking the other for himself.
"sit here" Soobin said, patting the seat next to him on the couch.
Beomgyu walked up and sat next to him, taking up the cup in his hands and drinking it,
"Wow! You're a good cook"
"thanks"
"Can I ask some questions?" Soobin asked,
"sure"
"what's your name?"
"It's Choi Beomgyu, 21"
"i'm 22, so, you can call me hyung if you want"
"Ok"
"how come you needed a place to stay?"
"Uh.. you see, I was coming from my mom's to my own apartment and my phone battery died and I realised I left my wallet in my mom's home and I had walked far away already and it started raining plus my apartment is still far away a little"
"you got it tough Beomgyu"
"Yea..Oh! that reminds me, can I call someone?"
"sure, the phone's near the kitchen counter"
Beomgyu put the cup down and walked over to it, it was like a early 80s phone. Beomgyu had been seeing lots of old stuff in his villa. Putting the thought aside, he called Yeonjun.
"Yah! Beoms! its been 30 minutes already and where have you been?!"
"Sorry sorry hyung.. you see I realised I forgot my wallet at mom's and then it started raining and my phone had died at that time so I kinda asked a stranger to let me stay until the storm ends... don't worry, he's really nice"
Yeonjun sighed,
"Wha- Gyu.. he could be dangerous, and you should've just let me pick you up."
"Hyung, he seems a good person though.."
"Fine. But keep your guard up, your mom's area has lots of shady people as well and ofcourse supernaturals baby"
"I know I know, I'll come back home soon after this storm ends Junnie hyung"
"Alright, stay safe, I'll wait for you Gyu"
"Hmm, bye bye hyung, Soobin hyung made me hot chocolate, its waiting for me"
"Soobin hyung?"
"Oh, that's the owner's name... also"
Beomgyu peeked behind at Soobin, Soobin was drinking hot chocolate,
"He's cute" Beomgyu whispered that part so only Soobin doesn't even hear the slightest.
But strangely Soobin started coughing, Beomgyu looked, it seemed he burned his tongue
"Hyung I gotta go, he just choked on hot chocolate"
"Alright, be safe"
"Kay" Beomgyu cut the call, and quickly walked upto coughing Soobin and patted his back.
"Are you alright?" And smacked his back to take the remaining hot choco outta his throat.
"ouch! That hurts" Soobin straightened his back.
"anyways, who were you talking to?" Soobin finally stopped coughing,
"Oh, Yeonjun, my roomie at the apartment. Is something wrong?"
"no nothing, I thought you two were couples cause he called you baby"
Soobin's eyes went wide
"ah wait! I wasn't supposed to tell you that" Soobin suddenly said,
"wait.. you could hear all that?!" Suddenly Beomgyu turned red, Soobin must've heard about him, saying Soobin was cute.
"You have pretty sharp hearing for a human" Beomgyu said, implying things clearly. Honestly things he saw since arrival, it should be clear he isn't human.
"Are you a vampire" He asked, Soobin choked again, meanwhile Beomgyu, this time, just took his hot chocolate and finished it, waiting for Soobin to regain his composure and answer.
"uh.. no, though I'm a mage. I just do magic stuff with chants. But my hearing is heightened for some reason"
"Ohh.. that's cool, now I got loads of questions..."
"shoot them"
"Do you speak your chants or write them down?"
"speak it."
"Do you use blood to do magic?"
"rarely"
"Why is your house so old?"
"its been 5 years since I came here and it was even worse, I did my best to do things cheaply, so I used my magic, I don't know much about modern houses so that explains it.. And also this used to be a graveyard right at the doorstep of this villa but people sold this house along with the graveyard. That's also the reason why those Blood Crimsons are blooming and the butterflies, its a symbiotic relationship between the three."
"Ohh.. that was quite a history.. Wanna come over mine? I have pretty modern interior decor."
"oh um.. sure. I haven't really had any outings since I came here."
"Another question, what's your hearing limit?"
"oh not much, but it's up to 5 meters"
"That's nice" Soobin hummed in response
They were quiet for a moment in comfortable silence, until Soobin looked behind Beomgyu at the window and saw the rain stopped.
"the rain.. it stopped"
"Yea, it did"
"do.. you wanna go?"
"I have to, I'm gonna miss my spooky Soob now" Beomgyu pouted, he was now well acquainted with the wizard.
"Do you wanna come with me?" Beomgyu asked
"I did said yes, didn't I?"
"Also.. did you hear what I said about you over the call?" to which Soobin nods,
"Argh" Beomgyu hid his face under his palms.
"though I don't mind it... I erm, actually I find you cute as well"
"Sorr- wait what!?"
"yea.. So.. what do you say?"
"Yes!" Beomgyu chirped and hugged Soobin, Soobin was caught aback but hugged him back nonetheless.
"Ok, its peachy and all but do you have any idea on how can we go quickly?"
"let me teleport you. Hold on right here"
"Wait, you can teleport? I got the coolest boyfriend for real" Beomgyu squealed, that's so convenient, Soobin being a mage is really a pro for Beomgyu.
Soobin laughed at Beomgyu before walking up to his door and opening it to the Blood Crimsons and the butterflies, and put his finger forward, a butterfly landed on it, it was deep red. He put his ring forward right next the butterfly, to which the butterfly jumped on the ring and dropped a droplet of blood it got from drinking Blood Crimsons. The butterfly flew away after, he closed the doors and went in front of Beomgyu, interlocked hands with Beomgyu.
"You said you rarely needed blood"
"yea cause I rarely use high class magic."
"Oh, I got a question.. How are you gonna teleport back from my apartment without your trusty butterfly?"
"good question but thankfully we have hemoglobin so no need to worry darling"
"That's cute of you but I'm not gonna let you cut yourself, just pick a butterfly in a jar"
"fine"
Soobin got the butterfly in the jar few minutes later and handed it to Beomgyu.
"tell me your location of your apartment" Beomgyu told him, and Soobin chanted something to his ring Beomgyu couldn't understand. Beomgyu closed his eyes, he felt funny like he was on a ship for some moment, after that feeling stopped.
He opened his eyes, he was in his living room, Yeonjun was at the couch, with popcorn and drinking cola, watching Tall Girl.
Yeonjun's eyes were comically wide and he snorted the grape juice all over the table.
"HOLY HELL BEOMGYU WHAT THE FUCK??!"
"I didn't knew I would teleport in the living room." Beomgyu whined, tugging his hand, he realised he still was holding hands with Soobin, Beomgyu tried retreat his hand back but Soobin his hold tight, a tint of redness was on Soobin's ear.
"And is this that Soobin guy?" Yeonjun look at the wizard. To which Soobin nodded,
"And why do you have a jar containing a butterfly in your hand?" Yeonjun asked Beomgyu,
"To teleport back Soobin needs this butterfly"
"He's a supernatural"
"yup"
"Welcome to the family Bunny boy!" Yeonjun made space for Soobin to sit with Beomgyu.
After talking and talking of Beomgyu telling Yeonjun.
Still Yeonjun couldn't believe how absurd the thing was. Like it was right out of some kdrama or shit. Realistically as possible, there were 9/10 chances for the owner to be an old person living in such a creepy and secluded mansion (info gained via BG). Second thing was even if the said guy was young, him being handsome had 1/10 chances. Also for Beomgyu to fall for him was another 1/1000, and the hand holdings with the blushes, god spare him! And third, 1/100000 people in an area are said to be supernaturals, yet two supernaturals aka Gyu's mom and this man that his 'son' brought home were both supernaturals that makes it 2/100000 in the area and also he himself in an supernatural.
Yeonjun let out a huff, fiddling with his hair. The situation is back to the two, now the Tall Girl is paused and the couple are in the love seat, finally separating their hands but alas! Yeonjun couldn't be free from their love sick eyes.
"Nice to meet you Soobin, I'm Yeonjun"
"likewise Yeonjun.."
"Yeonjun Hyung. I'm guessing I'm older than you"
"ok Yeonjun hyung"
Yeonjun was a intuition supernatural, his intuition was usually correct, the smaller the task is, the better the accuracy is.
After more small talk,
"Hyung, thank you for everything but I need to go now" Soobin said
"Can't you stay here forever?" Yeonjun asked
"Hyung!" Beomgyu said
"Chill, I'm just asking.."
"i'd love to but I can't leave the villa for long and Gyu"
"Yes?" Beomgyu was all heart eyes after Soobin said his name, making Yeonjun rolling his eyes.
"do.. you wanna meet me again sometimes?" Soobin asked softly,
"Ofcourse! You're my boyfriend silly!" Beomgyu smiled,
"i don't have phones like people nowadays, but here's this crystal, say 'Soobin' to it, and we can converse if you want"
Soobin handed Beomgyu a silver necklace, it had a sapphire in middle, it was the same as Soobin wore. Beomgyu wore it as well,
"Soobin-" Before Beomgyu could continue, the crystal started glowing along with Soobin's.
"be careful to not mention me when you don't wanna call me if you are wearing this" Soobin chuckled as he double poked his crystal causing the glow to die down.
"Alright, so.. I guess see you later?" Beomgyu said. Yeonjun was long gone from the couples to the kitchen, giving them privacy.
"yea.." Soobin was about to get up but Beomgyu held his sleeve.
He scratched his nape before speaking,
"Don't you think you are forgetting something?"
"what?" Soobin genuinely asked to which Beomgyu rolled his eyes and came close to Soobin's face. Soobin's heartbeat was thumping loudly, thinking he would steal a kiss but he was still few centimeters away.
"Can I" Beomgyu asked, Soobin's heart melted and nodded.
They shared a soft kiss, before Yeonjun interrupted them with two glasses of water in his hands for himself and Beomgyu
"Oh lord!!-" The both quickly parted, away from each other gasping with red flushed cheeks and a smile.
"Get a room for god's sake"
"I- we were not-"
"ok" Beomgyu was explaining before Soobin cutting him off causing him to short-circuit
"See you later Soobin, let's meet again tomorrow"
"sure hyung"
"bye Beomgyu.." Soovin turned to Beomgyu again,
"Huh? Oh, yea.. bye Soobin, join us for dinner next time?"
"I will" Soobin gave Beomgyu a soft head kiss and opened the jar and did the same ritual thing and teleported.
The room was a little empty now, but Soobin would be back tomorrow.
"You really scored this one BG"
"I know right! He's such a sweetheart.."
"Now enough with all this cute shit and help me cook"
"Coming mom" Beomgyu playfully teased to which Yeonjun smacked him with a rolling pin.
Yeonjun approved of their relationship, they both looked in love and happy.
Yeonjun loved how his bestfriend had someone in his life who would treasure him as much as he does. Beomgyu was really shining with Soobin, honestly the couple was really cute. Though he can't lie he wants someone for himself as well, oh how he yearned for a love like this, but he'll wait.
His intuition says a pair of fox eyes and loads of plushies will be his destiny, so be it. But for now, he's thinking of torturing the couple and make them watch the classic masterpiece, Tall Girl with them for the next day.
