Work Text:
The world is fine.
A normal kid thought. It is a decent place to live in. He is a happy kid with two loving parents. He goes to a splendid school and earns relatively mediocre grades, he had no friends though, he wonders why. His name is Jackson Doe and he was in the second year of elementary school.
Oh yeah, where was he? The world, yes. It was great, many people going around the pathways, the trees rustling in the wind, it was good, but it lacked something, something to make it better, superpowers. Imagine if the world had superpowers that would be so awesome, I would think it would be paradise if it actually happened. I can imagine it, people running to work with abilities of their own, making lives more easier for everyone else. Having super strength, super speed and many other abilities would be so extraordinary.
"Jackson..
Jackson?
JACKSON!"
The teacher yelled as the entire class quipped at him and Jackson snapped out of his thoughts. The class snickered at him as his face went red.
"Answer the question please Jackson. " The teacher sternly said as she pointed at the board, Jackson answered wrong.
At lunch, Jackson accidentally bumped into a girl. She looked disgusted and ran away. Jackson sat down alone with no one. His parents encouraged him to make friends, but he couldn't understand why no one wants to be his friends, he was a little weird but that isn't something bad right?
While he was doing this, he was unintentionally mumbling little words that sounds like curses, the other students moved back a little and whispered to each other.
"This guy is so weird. "
"I know right. "
"He doesn't even have friends. "
Jackson heard all of it. He gritted his teeth and a thought came into his mind.
If I had a superpower, everyone would want to be my friend and I would be happy.
Jackson walked home after finishing school, utterly miserable for the humiliation he suffered for the day. Jackson frowned but held onto a little bit of hope.
It'll be better when I get home.
However, before that happened, a strong foot slammed into the cement road behind him.
Him and every other student looked back to see another student, he was really buff and had tattoos littered across the body, everyone backed up. Jackson proceeded but was approached by the large student.
"Oi, my name is Steven. Ragel, this is the guy bothering you?" Ragel said to the small guy beside him.
Ragel had glasses on, she was shorter than Jackson and was pointing directly at him.
"Yea, he kept on mumbling, I don't like him, Beat him up!" Ragel yelled.
Jackson's eyes widened.
"Wha-What?"
Jackson recognised her, she was the girl who he accidentally bumped into.
"Wait, why?"
"Because you bumped into me, a commoner should never even get near to a goddess like me!"
"But, it was an acci-"
Steven punched Jackson in the face hard as he immediately tumbled. Jackson tried to stand up but Steven punched him in the chest as he coughed up blood. The crowd cheered at the violence as they formed a circle. Jackson was punched Steven multiple times.
In the legs.
In the hands.
And finally, in the head.
Jackson was in the ground and bleeding.
"That should teach you a lesson. "As Steven picked him up by the collar as Jackson struggled.
"Know your place you FREAK. " Steven said, metaphorically cutting a hole right into Jackson's heart.
Jackson was left bleeding on the ground.
If I had a superpower, I could show this guy his place.
Jackson walked down the road. Today was a very rough day but he could look forward to spending his time in Woaba Boba. He then suddenly spot an arrest occurring down a road. Two cops were arresting an elderly man. The elderman wore ripped clothes, a jacket and sweater, he wore glasses, had grey hair and the mst peculiar thing, he had some sort of book?
"Come quietly Mr. Ford. "
"No, you don't understand! This could destroy the universe, I must hide this book!"
The policemen looked at each other.
"This man is clearly delusional. "
"Bring him in. "
Ford punched the police, ran way however, accidentally dropped the book.
"Hey! Stop resisting arrest! "The two policemen chased after him.
Jackson walked up towards the book. He could tell this was something very special. Some ominous thing that was telling him to bring it home and read it, so he did.
Jackson read the book and it was the most splendid thing he's ever seen. This was detailed research on the weird things happening across the world, from fairy rumours to the Bigfoot appearances. This book answered everything! He then stumbled upon a page, a drawing of a triangle with one eye, a hat and a bowtie. It seemed that the writer went crazy, there was red ink everywhere saying that This being was never to be trusted.
'DO NOT SUMMON AT ALL COSTS'? why? You could give deals with him and make things into a reality, sounds awesome!
Jackson spent the next week gathering materials to build a shrine for this thing and do the ritual. At the day, He took a deep breath as he looked at the book.
"Triangulum, Entangulum. Veneforis Dominus Ventium. Veneforis Venetisarium."
He felt an ominous force as his body convulsed and his eye shone a bright blue as he mumbled out incorrigible words, the fly in his room stopped flying, the fan stopped spinning and the phone stopped ringing.
A black triangle that resembled space appeared surrounded with flames as an eye manifested, it started laughing with delight.
It worked, IT ACTUALLY WORKED?
It then changed into a more recognisable image, it was the guy from the book, Bill Cipher.
"Wow, Am I in New Bostin? Nice! It's been a while since I've been here, to be honest. Oh Who Am I kidding? I've seen it a sextillion times!"
Bill Cipher saw the child below him.
"Oh! You're really young aren't you? What are you, Asian? HAHAHA! "
"Um, I-"
"HAha, I'm just joking, I know who you are Jackson Doe!"
"What? How?"
Bill looked at him, "I know lots of things. "
"Lots of things. "
Jackson sweat.
"Well, I have been meaning to ask something from you Bill. "
"And what would that be kid? " As he played with his fire.
"Can you give everyone superpowers?"
Bill turned.
"I mean, some powers that are weak and some that are strong. "
Bill Cipher looked at the kid for an entire 10 seconds. "Alright, What kind of ability? There are many examples! For example!"
Bill held up his hand, the parents frozen in time had all their teeth had their teeth ripped out of their mouth and it was put into his hands.
"Like this?" As he handed them to Jackson.
"EW NO!" Jackson yelled. "I mean like super strength or speed, or lasers. "
"Ahhhhh, ok ok. Would you like to erase everyone's memories?"
"What, why?"
"Well if everyone suddenly get powers, I imagine there's gonna be a lot of chaos. "
Jackson thought about it and he was right, there would be anarchy everywhere.
"I could just memory wipe for them so they think they have always had abilities! It would be fun!"
"Alright, so what's your end?"
"Well, no, on the house. "
"Oh. Well, alright deal!"
Bill Cipher and Jackson Doe shook their hands as fire burned, marking them both.
Bill Cipher stretched his hand, "Alright!"
SNAP!
Bill Cipher laughed in ecstasy as he tinkered with his 'friends'.
"Finally, After all these years, A human was able to help me! Well, Ford was a close second, but this one, I didn't even need to ask him! He just asked for Weirdmageddon before I did! HILARIOUS!"
"Uh boss, how is he supposed to, yknow?"
"Easy, I just need to wait for an ability user to be able to open portals to another dimension and we'll go and party to the end of time! The reason I didn't ask is the reaction of those people will be so priceless! "
"Don't your powers work on dimension hopping, why would it work now. "
Everyone went silent as Bill Cipher's face widened in pale as his body broke apart literally and went back into shape.
"FU-"
Stupid Sera. She betrayed me at a time like this! And those cowards, they act like absolute hypocrites. John was walking home alone when suddenly the wind blew heavily and the moon turned into an eye. John's ace went plae as he looked up. Blue bricks manifested, formed a triangle as lightning struck to form a being.
"Another Doe, How exciting. "
