"Kaito."
"Yeees?" Kaito asked innocently, from where he was holding a leash.
"Is that a goat?" Saguru pressed his lips together.
"Yes it is." Kaito confirmed, patting the goat's head. The goat looked very pleased, leaning into the touch.
"Why." Saguru said, more a statement than a question, feeling defeated.
"Ok, so, you know how I went on the airship thing because old man Suzuki challenged me and whatnot?" Kaito continued to pet the goat.
"Yes, I did hear about it on the news." Saguru crossed his arms. "It was hard to miss, given what happened."
"Right, well Tantei-kun got himself thrown out so I had to jump after him to save him -" Kaito paused, frowning slightly. "He was so rude about it too, demanded I take him back to the airship immediately...anyways, I told him I couldn't because my hang glider didn't have an engine on it, so we had to land."
"But how does the goat factor into this?" Saguru asked, feeling like he was being quite reasonable.
"Well there was a goat there!" Kaito explained brightly. "And while Tantei-kun called Tantei-han, I befriended him!"
"You...befriended a goat." Saguru said slowly.
"That's right!" Kaito smiled at him.
"Which you then...somehow tracked down later and transported to Ekoda."
"Yes." Kaito sounded quite pleased with himself.
"And how do you plan to take care of the goat?" Saguru pinched the bridge of his nose wearily.
Kaito was silent for a moment.
"Kaito."
"I think you know."
"Kaito."
"Don't sound so disappointed! The three of us will have a great time together! Won't we, Sherlock?" Kaito added, looking down at the goat.
The goat made a noise of agreement.
"You named the goat Sherlock?" Saguru blinked.
"Well I found him during a case, so it seemed fitting." Kaito told him.
"Did you name the goat Sherlock in the hopes that it would endear me to the goat and allow you to keep him here?"
"Did it work?" Kaito sounded so hopeful, clutching the leash tightly.
"I -" Saguru stared at him, wondering why on earth he agreed to a relationship with someone who was evidently insane. Or at least enjoyed chaos far too much. "Will it...make you happy?"
"Very." Kaito frantically nodded.
Saguru looked at the goat. The goat looked back at him with wide pitiful eyes.
Saguru groaned. "I let you out of my sight for Suzuki's challenge, and look what happened."
"I'm sorry, but Tantei-kun is not able to keep me in check the way you do." Kaito informed him. "He's too short for one thing."
Saguru rubbed his forehead. "All right, fine. If you want to keep the goat, I can set up an area on our property for him. But I expect you to come over and take care of him!"
"I will! Thank you Saguru!" Kaito chirped, giving him a sweet smile.
Saguru covered his face with his hands and groaned again.
