Summary
When Obi-Wan was twenty-five years old, and still just a padawan of Qui-Gon Jinn, he met a handmaiden of Queen Amidala. Over the years, they would meet off and on, and become dear friends. As a Jedi Master, he warned his own padawan, Anakin Skywalker, they were not supposed to form personal attachments—for the greater good. They had to be able to let go of them, to not lose a thousand lives just to save one. But Obi-Wan was soon to betray his own warnings and it secretly became a "do as I say, not as I do" situation. And, then the Republic fell and the Empire rose. Friends were lost, lives forever changed. A love that had been forbidden soon became a lifeline to the galaxy. The secrets kept and the generations that followed would keep that love—and hope for a better future—alive.
