tearing at my heart

Summary:

Clutching what remained of his arm, kneeling on the ground, Hanin watched as Solas walked away.

Notes:

Stories of Thedas VI, Prompt 10: Game

I scream at the stars
but nobody's listening
searching for the end
but the journey's the reason for existence
it's tearing at my heart
the secret's in the distance
hard to find the truth in the dark
when you're begging for forgiveness

Work Text:

Clutching what remained of his arm, kneeling on the ground, Hanin watched as Solas walked away.

As if he had done nothing.

As if he hadn't just broken Hanin's heart, and worse.

"Was it just a game to you?" he called out, and to his dismay, his voice broke as tears sprung to his eyes.

"What we had?"Solas paused for a moment.

"No," he said, and there was something heavy in his voice that matched the heaviness in Hanin's heart.

"It was never a game."

Notes:

I think I might do more in this 'verse. Hanin is my latest Inquisitor, and I've been plotting more stories with them.
