Chapter Text
<____________________________________>
The days followed with no major change. You woke up and got changed, cleaned up around the house. Only then did you leave to buy some food to fill the fridge. Heading to Inazuma city to go to Tsukumomono Groceries, you stop at a unfamiliar small purple tent that had a sign that read:
‘Tarot Readings’
You had never seen that place open before in the streets, so you thought it had recently opened. Wanting to try it, you head inside. There was only one person and that was the reader herself who had a purple veil that covered her face. It matched the aesthetic that her venue was running.
She greets you with a wave before beckoning you to sit down. You carefully place your handbag next to you. A deck of cards is placed on the table. She opens them to reveal a stack of cards laid on the table.
“Pick three little one” she says before closing her waiting for you choose.
The cards had a purple back with gold print. It seemed to come in 3 designs. It either had a circle with an 8-sided star, rectangular edging, a diamond shape with a circle inside or a crescent moon pattern. You pick the first card which was in the middle-left end of the shuffle with the diamond. You turn it over. Next you pick the Third card on the top row. This had a crescent moon on the back. You do the same as the first and flip it over. Lastly you pick the bottom middle card with a rectangular back. You repeat the process. All three cards had been flipped.
“This seems interesting...”
She had seemed to whisper under her breath but made it obvious that you were also meant to hear it. You couldn’t help but feel this could be a waste of your time. Before you could criticize her in your mind any longer, she began to talk.
“Your destiny starts with the fool. The Fool card is that spark of a new beginning. The way that you feel when you are full of wonder, anticipation, and excitement for what is next. You may have no idea what your result will be, and others may have strong opinions on what you should be doing but do not let that stop you.”
You were starting to feel this was useless. All she was telling you was very stereotypical, and this was going nowhere. You had just walked into a stall with a random lady who hadnt yet asked for some money as well.
She notices your disgruntled face but continues on. “The next card you chose was the moon and is a card of illusion and deception, and therefore often suggests a time when something is not as it appears to be. A misunderstanding on your part, or a truth you cannot admit to yourself.”
You had had enough of her sprouting that weird nonsense and got up to leave.
“You won't be able to find me ever again. Don’t you want to know your future while you have the chance..?” she adds on as if testing your will to leave.
You tell her no and leave straight away. You walk towards Tsukumomono Groceries as you had previously planned. You reach for your bag to give Aoi the list of foods you wanted. You would have reached to get the list if you still had your bag. The same bag that you left back in the Tarot tent. A lingering feeling engulfs your gut as the lady's final words swirl around your mind.
...This will be the last time you see me...
Could this mean she would run with your bag and leave. You tell Aoi that you would return as you had left something. She understands and wishes you luck. You run back to the place of the tent to find in gone. Completely. As if it had never been there in the first place.
Inside your bag were all your possessions and if they were taken you wouldn’t even be able to pay for your food or be able to open your house door without professionals breaking in from the outside. Your gut started to churn as you couldn’t think for a second.
A voice snapped you back into reality.
“Ma’am what are you doing? Are you looking for something?” said a nearby male food vendor.
“Yes, have you seen where a purple like tent went. It was here only a few minutes ago.”
The man looked at you with confusion.
“There haven’t been any tents set up near here or any for this whole month- no year. Are you sure this was the right place.”
Were you going crazy...what was happening.
“If you lost something you could head over to the detective area. It’s around 5 minutes from here if you run right and continue heading forward.”
That’s right! I could just get help from an expert to solve my missing bag case.
You thank the man before speeding off in the direction he pointed to.
Sure enough, you make it to the place from the sign on the building. It read:
Bantan Sango Detective Agency
