The boys were about 11 when they stumbled across you [you were 4].
“dont tell me youre scaaared” raph mocked leo as they walked through the tunnels. Leo crossed his arms and snapped back “im not! I just think we shouldnt be here.”.
Raph rolled his eyes and leaned against the wall “sooo youre not scared of the tunnels…just scared of what splinter will do if we finds out we snuck out.”
Leo didn’t have a response so he just shoved raph into the water- this lead to a scuffle before they heard sniffling in the distance. The two boys froze , a little happy the other two werent here to see them look so scared.
They got up as quietly as possible and made their way to the noise…
“wh-whoevers there! Come out with your hands up!” leo announced. Raph stomped on his brother foot “moron- now they know we’re here!”. leo held his foot “as if they didn’t hear you yelling about how scared you think I am!”. the two shut up when they heard the sniffling again.
…they turned the corner to find…you. A small four year old girl in a nightgown. Hair messy and unkept , feet dirty and bare. You were crying.
The two boys were unsure what to do…they were told to avoid humans…but always help those weaker than them. You were both..
Raph went over once he made his mind- kneeling down next to you and tapping your head “whatchya doin here?” he asked. Leo followed and sat a little further away , still cautious.
You didn’t have an explanation. You didn’t even talk , nor react to the fact they were…well ya know…talking turtles. After running out of ideas , the two each held one of your hands and lead you back to the lair. Splinter was waiting near the door. Donnie had told on raph and leo and splinter was ready to scold them…till he saw you.
He knew you must have been in some form of shock so he sent the boys to their rooms so you didn’t get overwhelmed. He placed you on the couch and knelt in front of you.
Then…he introduced himself. “I am hamato yoshi…I know you wont speak now but I hope to learn your name when you do speak…I understand you’ve been through an ordeal but you are very safe now.” with that he got you cleaned up and found a huge t-shirt for you to wear while he washed your nightgown.
Mikey was the first to sneak out of his room- as expected. He was too curious and he wanted to meet you! He jumped onto the couch next to you and snapped his fingers in front of your face so you looked up at him.
“sup! My names mikey- do you like cartoons?” he asked. A few minutes later you two were watching some Saturday morning cartoons.
The others all came out too one by one and got absorbed into the show with you. You didn’t talk for the first few days honestly…
Donnie had scanned all across the internet and didn’t see anything about who your family could be. Even you didn’t speak of them so…they kept you.
The first time you spoke was quite the day. You were drawing while watching them spar [basics but still] and saw raph trip mikey while he tried to walk past. You yelped out “raph!” in an accusatory tone- they all froze as you pointed to a fallen mikey. Of course they all saw the situation but they didn’t care about that now-
“OH MY GOD YOU TALK!” mikey hopped up and ran over to you , kneeling down and hugging you. You hugged back happily- not exactly sure why they were all so excited.
But ya! Thats how they came to have you…
