“Wei Ying!”
His eyes looked to the man in white, listening to his given name bounce off cliff and reverberate, the desperation, pain, and loss evident even as the sound began to fade.
‘I’m sorry Lan Zhan. Thank you, for loving me, and standing by me when everyone else had their backs and swords pointed towards me.’ He thought, sad he could not say this out loud. The two men at top of the cliff became smaller and smaller, eventually becoming a pair of white and purple dots in the sky as the distance and unshed tears blurred the falling man’s vision.
He closed his eyes again.
‘I know I don’t deserve it, and this may be greedy from someone like me, but…maybe in the next life…I’ll be blessed enough to meet you again my love. Leaving you is my one final regret this lifetime…’
He felt the impact as he hit something solid. His whole world faded to complete black, but that nagging feeling never went away. ‘…did I make a mistake?’
