Sick Of It (Ninjago Reader Insert)

Summary:

You were sick of it. Sick of being misgendered. Deadnamed. Being seen as the "girl" ninja. It was so infuriating and you weren't sure how much more you could take. But...how exactly would you get away from all of it? You were sure the ninja would accept you if you told them...but there was also the fear that something would go wrong. That fear may get the best of you when combined with a temptation that's too good to refuse.

Chapter 1: Disclaimers And Such

        Hi! I'm the author, my name is Royal, and I have  no  clue what in the hell I'm doing. 

        Basically, to give context for what this fanfic will be, a couple of weeks ago (from the time of writing this) I had a weird-ass dream that was a Ninjago Reader Insert. And I thought "Huh, that would make a good fanfic."

        So here we are. 

        I'll add what the dream was in the next chapter to give more context, but for now, here's a few things you need to know:

  • This is a self-indulgent fanfiction meaning I have no clue where the hell it will be going and am just kinda writing what I want. 
  • As I said, I am basing this off a dream, so I seriously do not have a plot planned out. 
  • I am awful with titles so don't expect cheater titles. I could barely think of a title for the book. 
  • I'm not intending to have any ships that aren't canon ones, but since I don't know where this is going, I don't know how true this statement will stay. If you have any ship requests, whether they be x reader ones or not, feel free to comment them but don't get your hopes up.
  • Please remember I have no idea what the hell I am doing. 
  • Seriously, I don't. This is my first Ninjago fic and first fic in a while and I am not a professional writer nor do I know how to write fight scenes. 
  • Don't expect frequent updates nor consistent chapter lengths. The only thing that will be consistent is the second-person point of view, which even then I might forget about. 
  • As for story-related stuff, this takes place during roughly season 1, starting somewhere between episodes 10 and 11, and will probably go into season 2. That doesn't mean I'll be following season 1 because it's been a while since I've watched it, but hey I'm trying my best here. 
  • I'm not going to be censoring anything within the book itself but I'll add warnings at the start of the chapter if need be. 
  • The reader of this story is a trans male, which is important to the plot. Don't get pissy about this, there is a big lack of male reader inserts, especially ones with trans readers. 
  • I will be using D/N to reference the reader's deadname and P/N to reference his preferred/actual name. The reason I'm using P/N instead of Y/N is that, personally, I associate Y/N with my deadname so I feel like this will make things easier to read for those who do the same. 
  • The reader is also the Elemental Master of Crystal, which is associated with the color lavender. 
  • Don't expect this to be good and don't expect frequent updates. I'm seriously just going with the flow and bullshitting this so I don't know how long it will be, how coherent it will be, how often I'll write, nor if I'll even finish it. Please just try to enjoy what I write and don't be an asshole if you don't like something. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but being a dick isn't. 

        That's about it. I'll post a rough explanation of my dream before posting the first chapter. I hope you enjoy!
