Breaking eye contact she looks back down at their hands, still touching. Then she takes a leap of faith, turning her hand and intertwining her fingers between his.
The heat returns, if only for a short moment. She gasps.
“Rey,” he says, his voice wavering.
“I think I know how this works,” she says. “I think the more we touch, the deeper our bond will become.”
“And what exactly does that mean..” Ben asks, his eyes now stuck on their interlocked fingers. He stares at her fingers, so small and delicate, encased between his— large and thick.
