A small russet-coloured bundle of fur stared unblinkingly back at Dalamar from the cold granite table in Raistlin’s study. At first glance the creature currently in the dark elf’s company appeared by all accounts to be just an ordinary rabbit. But on closer inspection one could see a particularly alarming feature that betrayed the identity of the otherwise unassuming rodent - two bright golden orbs with irises peculiarly shaped like hourglasses that seemed to intrude upon a person’s soul the longer they looked into them.
Dalamar’s handsome features were twisted in a weary frown as he impatiently drummed porcelain fingers on smooth stone. Suddenly the apprentice yanked his hand away from the tiny maws of his equally agitated master before teeth met flesh.
Dalamar cleared his throat, “Forgive me, shalafi , but as you and I both know there is nothing to be done. We must simply wait for the spell to fade.”
The bunny’s nose seemingly twitched in annoyance. Dalamar hid a smirk with his hand. “On the brighter side, at least the study is finally free of dust.” And I’m certain Bupu will commit the lesson of not sweeping when the mage is casting to memory , he added to himself.
