Chapter Text
Birds chirped as the sun rose slowly from the horizon. Aether's phone let out heavy vibrations as the alarm went off. He yawned and groggily rubbed his eyes. He glanced at Lumine still soundly asleep in her own bed as she gripped the blankets.
He lazily shook her body to wake her up “It's time for work”. Lumine just grunted and turned over as she gripped the bed tighter. Aether frowned in annoyance– after all he also just woke up. He tutted and took out a spray bottle.
He sprayed her with the cold water repeatedly causing Lumine to squirm as she cursed before opening her eyes wide “Fuck! OK ok I'm up– stop it!” She whined in complete anger from being disturbed from her rest. Aether huffed and put it away “Your sleeping habits are atrocious” he said bluntly as he stood up and stretched his back.
Lumine rolled her eyes as she unwillingly slumped off the bed. She roughly ruffled Aether's bird nest like hair. He ruffled her hair in return.
Both entered the washroom and washed and brushed their teeth. After taking a quick shower they dressed up in their uniforms. Lumine pulled Aether down on the bed and combed out his hair. “Ow ow ow! Be gentle for Archon's sake!” He winced from the rough brushing on his already tangled up hair. Lumine just smirked “Come on, it's not that bad you're just being dramatic” She continued brushing much to Aether's dismay.
Although it was painful she did a good job of fishing his hair. She placed it in a neat high bun. Aether in turn brushed out her hair but unfortunately it wasn't as painful for her as it was him– he let out a disappointed sigh. He made small braids which kept her short hair in check.
Aether went down stairs and headed straight for the kitchen while Lumine stayed up in the rooms to clean up. He made a simple breakfast and lunch boxes for Dainsleif and Paimon for when they leave.
He just made a simple breakfast of pancakes, bacon and eggs while adding a fruit salad on the side. He made a lunch box for each of them just to get them through the day. He took up most of the cooking chores meaning that everyone preferred him to make it– of course it does alternate from time to time.
Lumine came down to eat. It was a meal well needed for the long day. They both finished up and washed their dishes and put their lunch boxes in their bags.
Lumine opened the door and walked out the apartment with Aether not far behind closing and locking the apartment door.
With the siblings next to each other Lumine asked “So who's driving?” she raised her eyebrow while twirling the car keys with her finger. Aether glanced at her before raising his hand “Rock paper scissors?” Lumine smirked and put her hand up as well “Alright”
Both spoke in unison “Rock, paper scissors shoot!” Immediately Lumine curled her hand to form a fist and Aether placed out two fingers. “Ahh damn it!” He let out a disgruntled groan of defeat. Lumine slammed the keys in his hand causing him to wince. “Yes! Get driving loser.” Aether rolled his eyes and opened the door to the driver's seat.
The drive was around 20 minutes, but still you could still nap in 20 minutes. Aether turned and parked the car into the employee parking before exiting the car.
“Oi get out else I'm locking you in” Aether closed his door– Lumine grumbled as she got out of the car. Aether pressed the key and locked the car as they walked to the bakery entrance.
A voice called out from a distance “Hey Aether, Lumine wait up for us” They both turned around to see a teenager with white hair and emerald eyes running up to them– though he stumbled over his feet almost falling but his friend behind him always caught him. His friend had grey hair and red eyes with dark eye bags– even with his rough appearance he was a complete sweetheart.
Aether greeted them “Hi Bennet and you too Razor”. Both the boys went closer to them– Lumine couldn't help but rub their heads. ”Ahh, you're still so adorable!” Honestly Lumine has been really taking the big sister role for them since Razor and Bennett were the youngest employees,as well as since it's their summer holiday they took longer shifts so they needed a supervisor.
Bennett blushed in embarrassment while Razor just accepted it, he was used to his mother Lisa doing the same thing.
Aether chuckled and rubbed their heads as well before he pat Lumine shoulder “You can coddle them later, come on” He walked over to the bakery's door and unlocked it. They all entered and put in their time slots before cleaning up the bakery.
More employees entered as the sun continued to rise. After everything was set in order they opened up at 9 am on the dot for those who were already waiting outside.

Today specifically was very busy– too busy in fact, not even on holidays was the Bakery this crowded. The employees had to work on overdrive just to meet the demands of the customers. Well who could complain? This was more money after all.
The workers scurried around back and forth as they brought in pastries, teas and coffees while they brought back the empty plates and cups to the kitchen to be washed.
However that was only the tip of the iceberg, two well known Inazumen models Ayato and Ayaka had entered the bakery. Their hair was light a light baby blue suiting their eye colour's– the oldest walked next to his younger sister. Both had worn fashionable outfits which looked quite expensive. Due to them being the center of attention people swarmed around them like flies, however their bodyguards stopped them from getting closer even some employees helped to push back the growing crowd.
Lumine's eyes immediately widened in shock and pure excitement “Holy shit! Aether look look!” She aggressively tugged at her brother's apron who was currently making more pastries “L-lumine wait, you'll make me drop the croissants!” He tried to keep himself stable as he placed the tray down.
He turned to see what she was pointing at and his eyes widened with his mouth agape completely baffled by the large crowd “What's going on?” He scanned across the swarming crowd. Lumine grabbed his cheeks harshly and pointed at the two obviously out of place characters. Aether couldn't speak as Lumine looked up at him with expectant eyes and he laughed “Go ahead and take their orders I don't see a reason why you shouldn't.”
As if given more energy Lumine immediately plunged through the crowd– honestly Aether had no idea how she looked as if she was swimming over the people but he didn't question it at all.
He smiled widely and went back to baking, he was so happy that their little bakery was getting more recognition! But it will also mean that it will be a larger mess for a few weeks till they find more workers. But either way they would definitely tell their uncle about it after they go back home.
When Lumine reached their table, she looked like an absolute mess– Ayaka gently covered her mouth and let out a soft chuckle while Ayato just smiled. Lumine was flushed red as she quickly tried to fix herself to the best of her ability and cleared her throat. “W-what would you like to order?” Her voice cracked from being a bit nervous.
Ayaka ordered first “Could I please have your Sweet dreams cake and some raspberry tea.” Her voice was soft yet vocal. It was way better in real life than on camera, Lumine brought herself back and nodded her head before turning to Ayato. He titled his head ”Your Chocolate muffins and black coffee will do just fine” He placed down his hand and gave her back the menu. Lumine nodded “It will only take 7 minutes.”
Lumine quickly disappeared into the crowd to give the order Ayaka smiled as she watched the waiter run off. “Oh this is wonderful, it seemed so crowded I thought it would have taken way longer, don't you think so brother?”. Ayato nodded.”It is quite surprising especially for such a small place”
Just like Lumine said, it only took 7 minutes and it was fresh too. Ayaka took a small bite out of her pastry and her eyes widened as she let out a content sigh “This is amazing!” The cake had the right amount of sweetness and the sponge of the cake was soft and moist and not overly dry or damp which kept a perfect balance between the cake sponge– the strawberries added that refreshing tang that wrapped it all up.
The raspberry tea was just something you needed after eating a pastry to pleasantly wash it down.
Ayato nodded in agreement “It is quite delectable” The chocolate muffins were enjoyable, the chocolate center was very much welcomed. The wrapping had cute paw prints which added to the aesthetic– the coffee was also very pleasing to the tongue– it was bitter but not to the point it would irritate the stomach, he might just ask what brand they use.
Lumine let out a sigh of relief when she saw the Kamisato siblings enjoying their pastries and drinks.
Some of the people in the crowd heard their orders and they immediately ordered the exact same pastries. The staff sighed in exhaustion– they even had to put out a sold out sign for the first time. The coffee was still there but the raspberry tea bags were completely finished.
The Kamisato siblings finished eating and wiped their mouths. They each paid for their food and left a hefty tip which surprised Lumine a bit however that wasn't the most surprising thing. Ayaka secretly slipped a small paper in Lumine's hand and winked before following her brother while the body guards followed suit. Some desperate fans ran after them.
Lumine was completely stunned silly ‘Miss Ayaka touched my hands they were so soft and warm’ Her mind wandered to lala land unable to comprehend what just happened.
Aether looked out from the kitchen and just saw Lumine standing still at the empty table. He walked over to her and patted her shoulder “Lumine are you alright? You seem pretty out of it since the Kamisato's left. Did something bad happen?” He poked her cheek
Still in a complete daze, Lumine giggled “She gave me her number…” She looked up at the ceiling, Aether's eyes widened in shock “You're joking” he could now believe what he heard. Lumine became defensive “I'm not joking! Look for yourself!” She shoved the paper in his face. Aether squinted his eyes, he was far sighted so he had to wear his glasses.
He stared at the string of numbers “Holy shit dude… I can't believe my eyes” she looked at her. “Sis, give me some of your luck!” His statement caused Lumine to grumble and quickly put her hand on his face to stop him from getting closer. “Hell no! Get your own!” She put the paper in her pocket “Come on don't be stingy!~” Aether slumped himself over her shoulder and he whined as Lumine tried to push him off.
