“Rae!”Bennett called out as he was carrying a bag full of raw meat and fowl.He was running towards Razor while he was sitting down trying to start a fire.”Benny!Glad you here!”Razor said excitedly.Just as Bennett was about to reach out to Razor,his bad luck caused him to fall and drop the bag of meats and fowl.
“Aw man,if only my luck wasn’t so bad!”Bennett said disdainfully.”Well,at least the bag isn’t ripped open so we can cook it!”Bennett tried to cheer himself.No matter how negative the situation,he’d find something positive.Meanwhile Razor was trying to start a fire but failed.
“Here,let me help you!”Bennett reached out of his pocket a matchbox.He used the match to lit a fire in the fire pit before setting a pot above it.”That’s it!A stove to cook food!”Bennett cheered.Razor just stared at the matchbox.”How fire come?”Razor asked while pointing to the matchbox.
“Well it’s hard to explain,but i think the friction between the match and matchbox caused the match to be lit!”Bennett explained.
”Huh”
“Um,so you uh just take match and just…”Bennett demonstrated how to lit the match.Razor caught on and asked to try it.He lit the match successfully before the wind blew the flame to a nearby tree and nearly caused a forest fire.Well it only didn’t occur because Bennett threw water at it and somehow finished the last of his water supply.He looked stunned.
He turned to Razor.
“Rae,from now on,don’t touch this when there’s wind nearby,okay?”Bennett warned Razor.
“Am hungry”
“It’s alright Rae!We have a stove hereeeee…”
Due to Bennett’s panic of throwing water everywhere,he also threw water at the fire pit.He sighed and lit a match to start the fire again.
At last,they could finally cook and eat meat in peace!
While roasting the steak,Bennett was talking non-stop about his adventures while Razor was listening.Then a question appeared in Bennett’s mind.Why didn’t Razor speak a lot?
“Hey Rae,why don’t you speak a lot?”
“Talking make me tired”
“Really?Is it cause you’re not used to the human language?”
“Maybe,I do not know”
“It’s alright!Whatever you say I can understand!”Bennett smiled,holding a thumbs up.Razor blushed lightly.
Just then,Razor smelled burning steak.He quickly took the steak and saw it’s charred black remains.”Ehee,Oops!”Bennett awkwardly blurted out as he realised his grave mistake.The pair cooked another steak without burning it this time.
After a whole afternoon of just eating meat and talking,it was now evening.Bennett had to return to his camp.”Well Rae,I’ll meet you tomorrow again!But do you like any other thing besides meats?”
“I like potatoes”
“Okay!I’ll bring them tomorrow!”Bennett said before rushing off.He smiled at Razor before fading into the horizon.”I like Benny”Razor said to himself.After all,he didn’t have many close human friends.But Bennett did have a special place in his heart.
-THE NEXT MORNING-
Bennett woke up very early at 5 am to look for potatoes and meat.Even after looking at his map for prime potato locations,it seems as if all the potatoes were raided.Until he realised his map was upside down.He flipped it around and finally found the potatoes.As he collected the potatoes,he fit them into a little sack he carried around.Now it was time to kill animals for meat.Bennett ran around everywhere to get animals to kill with his sword.
After so long,he finally secured the last few meats,he was on his way to get water considering he finished it all to prevent a forest fire.
“Pay your dues!”a deep voice called out.Bennett turned around.It was a Fatui Agent!Bennett was not willing to engage in combat at 6.30 in the morning but he had no choice.After all,a true adventurer doesn’t run away from their problems,right?Bennett prepared his sword and was ready to attack.
But within a blink of an eye,the Agent was invisible and Bennett tired to haunt him down but he appeared out of nowhere and gave Bennett a heavy blow.”Why do they never miss…”Bennett muttered.He drew his sword and infused it with pryo to attack the Agent.The agent fell to the ground,grunting.He proceeded to deal swift attacks to him.The Agent was also putting up a fight and gave Bennett many bruises.Bennett kept trying to fight him,not willing to give up just yet.But he was about to faint from exhaustion at the worst possible moment.”Benny’s Adventure Team…I have failed…”Bennett said as he fell to ground.
“Barbatos,guide us!”Jean yelled as she finished the Fatui Agent swiftly.Bennett was healed and regained consciousness.When he saw Jean,he instantly felt relieved.”Be careful Bennett,sometimes it’s better to run,”Jean advised Bennett.Bennett smiled sheepishly and thanked Jean profusely.Just then,Jean noticed the sack of meat and potatoes.”What is that sack used for?”She asked.
“Oh it’s just something for Rae!I usually spend most of my afternoons with him!”Bennett replied.
“Rae?”
“Rae!Short for Razor!”
“Oh…May Barbatos protect you,stay safe Bennett,”Jean said before she left to destroy more ruin guards.
“Jean is always so hardworking!Maybe she should take a break sometime though…”
After that ordeal,Bennett went back to his camp to cook eggs.The eggs as usual were charred but Bennett did not care at this point.It was his so-called signature dish.
After his breakfast,he thought it would be a great time to do comissions to get mora.He walked all the way to the Adventurers’ Guild to get his comissions.
“Ad astra abyssosque!What can I help you with,Bennett?”Katheryne asked.
“Are there any comissions for me to do?”Bennett asked.Katheryne looked for comissions for Bennett to do.After some time,she found one for Bennett.
“Here’s a comission for you.Stay safe,”Katheryne said as she relayed the details to Bennett.
All Bennett had to do was kill some slimes at Wolvendom.Since Razor lived there,Bennett might as well bring his sack of meat and potatoes.He travelled to Wolvendom and began fighting them.He dealt them with ease.Bennett did find it odd that he only had a few bruises considering his infamous bad luck.He brushed it off,maybe today could be his lucky day?
He earned his Mora and was now on his way to Razor.Maybe they could travel outside of Mondstadt or even find treasure.But that depends if Razor wants to go out of Mondstadt.Bennett won’t mind if Rae didn’t want to.
“RAZORRRR,I’m here!”Bennett yelled out.Razor looked around for Bennett and saw him charging towards him with full speed.Out of instinct,Razor jumped out of Bennett’s way.Bennett fell face flat onto the ground.Razor couldn’t help but laugh.
“Hey would ya stop laughing at me!”Bennett said as he pushed himself up.The more Razor laughed,the more Bennett blushed out of embarrassment.
“Benny fall very funny”
Bennett turned around and lit the fire pit and decided to cook steak with mashed potatoes.”Are those Potatoes,”Razor asked.He was never used to seeing potatoes like this.”They sure are!I’ll promise you that they’ll turn out nice!”Bennett said.The smell of steak and potatoes made Razor hungry.He was drooling at the smell of it but the meat was still a bit raw.Razor had to be patient but Razor isn’t patient.When he’s impatient,he’ll start to play with his hair.Bennett took notice and laughed.
“Impatient,aren’t ya?”
“Yes..”
Just then,the steak had finished cooking.”Alright!One plate of steak and mashed potatoes coming right up!”Bennett cheered as he placed the plate of food onto Razor’s lap.Razor took bite and his eyes gleamed in delight.”This make me happy!”Razor gobbled down the food and in the blink of an eye,the food was gone.
“Rae,do you want to go out adventuring today?”Bennett asked.Razor blinked and pondered for a while.He hadn’t gone out of the forest for quite some time.A change of pace couldn’t hurt,right?
“Ok”
“That’s great then!Let’s go!”Bennett said.He took his now empty sack and sword.Razor got up and took his Claymore weapon and headed out of Wolvendom.Bennett looked at his map.
“Do you want to visit Falcon Coast?It’s the only place we haven’t exploded yet,”Bennett said.”What is it like,”Razor asked.
“I don’t know but it looks like it has a lot of trees and water!”Bennett replied.
“Trees,remind Razor of Luprical….”
Razor nodded and walked with Bennett there.When they finally arrived,the sun was casting its glows on the shallow waters.The waters were clear and glistening.Nearby underneath a tree was a couple.As they sat underneath the tree,they put their lips close and kissed.Razor saw what was happening.”What are they doing Benny?”Razor asked,pointing at the couple.
Bennett turned around and saw the couple kissing.”Oh they’re kissing Rae!”Bennett replied.
“Kissing?”
“Yes kissing?You don’t know what that means?”
“What is kissing?”
Bennett turned red.
“Uh..um like when you like someone very much,you kiss them on the lips!Like this!”
Bennett kissed Razor on the lips.
“See,that’s a kiss!”
“So Benny like Razor very much?”
It took a hot minute for Bennett to realise what he had done.It’s not like he was trying to kiss Razor on purpose!He was simply trying to demonstrate but got carried away!
“Uh I do like you like friend!
(Obviously not because Bennett is in love with Razor)
“Kiss is for romantic people!We’re just friends!”Bennett yelled out before running to the water to cool his red face off.What did he just do?!He really thought he had a lucky day but he was wrong…
And it was even his first kiss.
Meanwhile Razor was confused as to what was happening.He sat down to think.All he knew was Bennett was friend,right?But Benny kissed him so he was confused.Deep down,Razor felt happy Benny kissed him.Bennett was special to him,after all.
He was just more than a friend…
After Bennett cooled himself off,he went back to Razor,who was waiting patiently for the young blond.
“Is Benny okay?”Razor asked,looking concerned.”Yea i’m f-f-fine!”Bennett stuttered as he held out his hand to Razor.
“C’mon!We have more adventuring to do!”Bennett urged Razor to get up but it seems Razor wasn’t willing to stand up.
“Why kiss Razor?”
“Rae,it was just an accident,I was trying to show you something!I promise we’re just friends!”
Razor seemed suspicious at first but he knew Benny wouldn’t lie.Friends don’t lie after all…
Razor finally stood up and muttered,
“Walk”
“You want to walk?Sure thing!”
Both of them walked along the shallow river in silence as the evening sun set.Bennett felt as if it was awkward but didn’t want to break the silence while Razor was walking normally.
Until Benny’s bad luck strikes again.
All of a sudden,Hydro slimes appeared from the nearby water body.Bennett was caught off-guard and tripped over a large slime.Bennett had hit his head badly onto the ground and it wasn’t looking like he would wake up anytime soon.Razor saw the state of Bennett and saw red.How could this slime injure Benny so badly?!He prepared a charged attack using his thunder claws.
“Kick back!”he yelled as he struck electro into the body of water.The hydro slimes instantly took damage before they were finished off.
“Benny?Benny!Are you fine?!”Razor tried to communicate with Bennett but it seems that the unlucky adventurer wouldn’t wake up.Razor was concerned for Bennett and immediately carried him on his back to Wolvendom.Razor ran as quickly as he could to the cave to try to heal Bennett.Bennett’s head was bleeding from the left side.Razor was losing breath but he could not give up yet.Benny needed to be saved.
Alas they arrived at the Wolvendom Cave where Razor and his Luprical slept.Razor laid Bennett on a soft moss bedding and left to look for herbs and Wolfhooks.After gathering them,he ripped off a piece of his pants to cover Benny’s wound.Before covering the wound on his head though,Razor rubbed herbs and wolf hook on the wound and washed Benny’s head.As he finally covered the wound,his breathing seemed to stabilise.By then,the moon was already out and the stars glistened in the night sky.
The wind breeze caused Razor to get chills.He needed something or someone warm,for it was a cold night.Razor snuggled up to Bennett and buried his head in his neck,watching the stars.”Benny warm…”Razor’s eyelids began to droop and soon he fell asleep.
Just two “friends” falling asleep underneath the moonlit sky,peacefully.
-IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT-
Bennett woke up with a throbbing headache.He sat up looked around to see Razor tightly hugging him.Bennett blushed but couldn’t help to admire how cute Razor looked.However,the sudden movement jolted Razor awake.”Benny is awake?”Razor mumbled.
“Yes Rae,I am awake,”
“I think I like you very much,”
“Huh-“
“When you kiss me,I feel happy.Razor like you very much…”
“Oh really….Me too Rae”
“I want to kiss again,”
Bennett went red but he leaned in forward to kiss Razor on the lips.
But this time,it was passionate.No “just friends.”This time,they would be partners.
As Razor and Bennett sat up to look at the stars in the night,Bennett said to Razor,
“You’re my boyfriend now Rae,”
He smiled before kissing him again.Razor smiled and kissed Benny on the cheek.
As they watched the stars,they held hands,fingers interlocking.
They weren’t just friends,they were lovers now.
