She'd just been weird lately
Like even though she'd agreed to go out she never really wanted to do any couple-y stuff or talk about like
Anything differently from how we did as friends
So I told her it didn't feel like she was taking this seriously and she kind of evaded for a while but then said she was afraid of getting attached
So I was like okay let's talk about that and she didn't want to and i was like what DO you want and she was like i don't know i just don't want to be hurt again
And I was like what does that mean and she was like you know and I said I thought we were past this??
Like I was honestly really shocked she'd always been like
More forgiving than I even thought I deserved
And I guess I'd gotten used to her being that way so it really threw me off
So I got upset and asked like, what more I have to do to prove I'm not that person anymore and she was like I don't know and she apologized and said it wasn't fair to me but she couldn't change how she felt
So I couldn't really think of what to say to that
And then she was like maybe this was a mistake and. Well. Yeah.
And that was a few days ago and we haven't really spoken since
So now I feel extra shitty because not only did I lose my girlfriend AND my best friend in one go but I'm also questioning if she ever actually forgave me for anything

i kind of get both sides
it's valid for her to still have some hurt feelings she was maybe repressing. feeling betrayed can leave a pretty bad mark.
but it sucks that she wouldn't talk about it with you even after you started dating
and also fwiw i think you really have changed a lot!
i really admire how hard you've tried to be a better person
