Chapter Text
()()()Izuku POV()()()
His eyes still stung as white spots danced in front of him as the unknown enemies quirk hit him, but he could make out that he was no long in the park reading the book he found on the bench next to him. He was in a tall room lavishly decorated, with dozens of robed and armored people surrounding himself and three others. He surmised that they were just as lost and wary as he was considering they all were in some form of combat stance. The man closest to him was around 6ft tall, dark tan, with windswept black hair and iridescent green-blue eyes. Some sort of quirk mutation? Eye based ability? or some indication of power, they seemed to swirl as he stared down everyone around him. He wore a blue shirt and jeans, a bronze watch and beaded necklace. Something small was in his pocket, a pencil, pen, knife? He held a sword in his hand laden with a green gem. He seemed confused why it was there, doesn't matter for now survey the others.
The next one over was also much taller than him, they were a whole 7 feet counting their horns. It was much harder to determine this ones gender, his best guess was female, only after years of befriending and or beating the shit out of mutant quirked individuals gave him this insight as it was hard to tell. The sure sign of this was the slightly feminine yet feral growl that escaped her... mouth? She had no mouth, no it was a mask that adorned her head that covered her face, clearly those intricate swirls carved on it indicated craftsmanship. She wore a simple red cloak covering most of her except for her hands and legs which were covered in black insect carapace. No it was a equally detailed as the mask just more subtly, the ruffle created by her movement showed them. Perhaps a foreign hero, she must be foreign he knows every spotlight and underground hero in Japan. In her left hand she held a spear designed similarly as the other guys sword, and in her right held a long white spear with a loop on the end also carved with flowing lines.
The last man was a bit shorter than him and much older than any of them if he had to guess. He had long golden braided hair, a meticulously groomed beard and a long white night shirt and a decorated red and blue robe that fit much more in line with what the other people wear wearing in terms of fantasy style. No the design philosophy was different and he wore no similar insignia, only a stylized bird and small triangles with the an upside down triangle cut from them. He had long ears and sharp blue eyes, his arm lengths were slightly different, his right very slightly longer. It was covered by a black glove as well, or was that a prosthetic, it had a blue glowing circle on the back. Oh and he also held a weapon in his hand, a bow that was adorned with the same gems as the sword and spear.
His attention turned back to his assumed captures when one spoke, "Oh great hero- oh dear gods what is that thing!"
The speaker almost fell on his butt when he pointed next to him, at the insect mutation quirked person. Oh fuck this guy, their was nothing Izuku hated more than a quirkist.
So he opened his mouth like he has many times before and acted without thinking, "Who the hell are you to talk to this woman like that! Not only do you capture us you now insult us! Who are you? Who do you work for? Where are we? Why are you all dressed like knights and priests of some cult or convention?"
His rambling was cut off by a swish of the insect girls hand, "That is enough young mosskin."
Izuku tilted his head, Mosskin, and filed the information away. "I speak for myself. As the young one asked, state your name and purpose. Answer quickly and I will not cut you down and give you to the spiderlings."
The robe garbed man gulped and shivered at the killing aura the insect woman unleashed. It was palpable, too real and physical to not be a part of her quirk, almost imperceptible white mist rose from her. "P-please help us heroes, our kingdom is going to be destroyed."
Surprisingly it was not her who spoke but the man around Izuku's age who spoke next, "my gods, what pile of schist. Not again, that's it I call bs. God's strike me down do it yourself, I'm not playing errand boy again fuck you!"
The man seemed to wait for an answer when he stopped shouting at the ceiling. No answer came obviously, the young man seemed surprised and somehow, more confused.
He started laughing, oh dear this man was insane, "Oh you've got to be kidding me, I can't even feel their presence. Quickly cult dude, where the Hades are we."
The robed guy balked at him, "Sir Sword Hero you are in the Capital of Melromarc. More specifically the the Palace summoning chamber where we summoned you great heroes and tha- that- all four heroes narrowed their eyes waiting for him to finish- to save the kingdom from the waves."
Again before Izuku could speak the green eyed man spoke again, "Waves? Dude if waves are your problem, I'm something of an expert. I'll send those bad boys back into the ocean. Wait you said summoned from a different world, how the fuck are we going to get back?"
At least he asked one of the questions he was going to ask.
"All will be explained by the king please follow me heroes." The man stuttered out worse than he was when he was in middle school. Izuku hoped this king could answer some of his questions, like what was this shield doing on his arm. How did he not notice that until now, how long had it been there. It had a similar green gem as the other...
🔺️🔺️🔺️Link POV🔺️🔺️🔺️
He did not like this, Link was just about to head for bed after he finished a chapter of this book Zelda got him a few weeks ago on his 47th birthday. They were far to busy with their duties as king and queen that it slipped his mind until this evening when he sat in their chambers. Who knew that it had powerful summoning magic in it. The young men and woman seemed to cause quite a ruckus. He decides to keep silent for now, he don't know what will happen next and it's best to be on his toes and get home as quickly as possible to his wife and children.
They walk down the corridor and up some stairs and we enter the throne room. He clearly saw they were very much expected if the balcony and myriad of nobles or well to do folk milling about on the floor are any indication. They speak in whispers but they gave clearly never had to whisper near a Hylian or next to Purah when speaking of new tech developments. They speak of waves, of their fear. They also speak of something he can't quite make out but someone has done something scandalous under the queen's nose. He wishes the poor sap his condolences if the queen is anything like his dear Zelda, quick with the carrot and whip, more like career destroying quip. He so does wish he had his pipeweed, and a good meal would be nice, all this commotion of summoning when he should be asleep.
When they finally approach the King, oh dear goddesses, the man is frightened and angry. A king must keep his composure in times like these with so many eyes and ears around, he wouldn't last a day in a Calatia courtroom, Hylia knows he barely did at 25 and the man infront of him is probably older than he is now.
"Get this thing out of my throne room!" He bellows. Poor fellow, Link knows a warrior when he sees one and that strange looking woman is one down to her very core.
White light streams out of her, threads of silk dance around her, her cloak ruffles in her wind. She snarls, a hissing clicking sound, like nails on slate, "This is thrice you have insulted me, a queen, since you have dragged me to this infernal place."
She slammed her white spear on the throne room floor cracking it all the way down and up the steps to the throne itself, stopping a pace from where the king sat. "I will not tolerate such disrespect and challenge you to make one more insult and I will leave your kingdom to the Grim."
Several nobles trembled in her presences, knights stepped forward shouting something about demi-humans and beastmen. Link did not care for it at all, negotiations were not going to procede if such hostility reigned.
So, he stepped forward and cleared his throat, "Excuse me dear king, sorry I didn't get a name may you present it to us so we may know of whose honorable residence we preside in?"
The king responded, probably more out of instinctual reaction than diplomacy, luckily he answered, "His Majesty the King of Melromac, Aultcray Melromarc XXXII."
Link nodded, "Then I thank you King Aultcray as Embassador and King of Hyrule, Link Zephyr Gratius Hyrule the first king of Hyrule since the Age of Burning Fields. I will ask you to lower your guards around this woman, as she does not, and as far as I can guess all of us, understand your culture and has felt she has been insulted. I hope you can forgive her Majesty as well for startling your guests and guards as like she and us don't understand your culture you do not understand hers."
Some of the guards looked to the king for answers, some backed away realizing they are in the presence of at least two unknown Kingdom's leading figures, and other's had a strange hate in their eye, and continued to point their swords and halberds.
He sighed, maybe this was irreversible but he must press on. Perhaps he could distract them with their purpose of their summon, "Your Lordship, as representative of these people, may I ask why it is we were summoned. I heard from the young man we were to help save your kingdom from these so called waves? I must inquire to why we must be the one to combat such a foe and what its nature is."
The angry king must have decided to let the woman's perceived slight against him rest for now as their purpose here must be more important. "The waves are a dimensional rift in the sky that comes regularly and at random areas to attack our people, it summons monster after monster that lead to many deaths. I implore you heroes to deal with it."
The young dark haired man spoke with exasperation, "That still doesn't explain why it has to be us. This seems like a well off kingdom, judging by the sharp yet so outdated clothing everyone wears around here, couldn't you I don't know increase military budgeting get some sort of lookout system in place. You guys have magic right? What can you do with it? Can you communicate with other people far away. Even if you can't, good roads and a smoke signal system would help speed military action. What about other countries can't they help, instead of making four strangers do it with these weird weapons you've strapped to us? Oh I'm Percy by the by."
The man is more perceptive than he looks, the green haired kid picked up where the other left off, "Speaking of these weapons your Majesty what are they? I tried to take it off but it didn't work, but I can place it anywhere on my body."
"Of these weapons you ask Hero Percy, they are the Legendary Weapons, they are the only ones capable of closing the rifts to stop the waves, that is why traditional Military might does not work. As for your other problems they are not so easily addressed they are also dealing with the waves and cannot help us."
Link looks to the bow on his shoulder, in all honesty he is the best archer in the kingdom, not scratch that possibly he has ever seen. This is not conceit he has gone against Teba, and many other master archers and hunyers, but he won every time. But that isn't to say he didn't prefer a sword when it came to hunting monsters up close. "Your Lordship, while I am indeed an excellent archer I would like a sword as well to pair with it."
"That is not possible Sir Bow. The weapon rejects all others of a different kind than it on it's owners person. Fear not though you can strengthen your weapon according to the legends. But I think this is enough for today, you must be tired, escort the Heroes to their room."
/\/\/\Hornet POV/\/\/\
The room was small, and it was supposed to house all of them for a night. She decided to break something to vent her ever growing anger on the tiny furniture. She yelled after the door was closed behind them and crushed the table, trying to break this inferior spear that was tied to her. It did not work, the table and floor below it were surely destroyed but the accursed spear was not. She had to get out of this Light damned place, she must get back to rebuilding her kingdom, after all it was only a month ago her sibling killed Radiance and the her other sibling was released from their cage. She had much work to do, a hundred woke up after their infection, thousands lay dead. Food had to be hunted and gathered, a clean up of the dead needed to continue, as well as a sweep of the Soul Sanctum that she needed to complete. She found this book that transported her there, what else was hidden by the old Soul Masters?
She hissed in contemplation, "These rooms are too small, where do we even sleep?"
The dark one shook his head as he ungracefully flopped on the couch that the table she had shattered went with. "I get the feeling we are unwelcome here. That old guy hated you for no reason, he flinched when I mentioned other countries and ignored green top when he asked a question."
Indeed his court was quite curt with them. If it was a matter of strength is respect like the Mantis Lords she would have cleared that up when she demonstrated her soul.
"Mosskin, you have been mumbling since we left the court, share or shut up."
The young mosskin looked up wide eyed, apologizing, "Sorry, I was just running some questions through my head. I guess I started to mumble, it's a bit of a habit. I really don't mean to you see, it's a tick I developed when I was young, and helps my mind work out what's happening. It's quite annoying to some-"
Her glare shut him up, "Get to the point Mosskin."
"Right." He nodded, "So we are in another world in a kingdom fighting something called the waves. They show up randomly, everywhere, and this kingdom has the means to stop them with the Legendary Weapons, which can apparently stop these waves and help us get stronger. So far this makes sense right?" A chorus of nods and agreement was heard. The mosskin had said nothing that has been said before. "So, learning all this I have several questions. Why us? What makes us so special that we were summoned, is it random or is it choice? If so who makes that choice? Why can't the people of this world use the weapons? Leaping to a different question, why this Kingdom? Surely the other countries need us just as much, was this a unanimous decision? I don't think so judging by the kings and his court's reaction. Further more, why were they hateful of her majesty? Is there some sort of quirk prejudice here? Are quirks even in this world? Is there a way to get back? If so how? Will the king provide resources to combat the waves?"
The dark one raises his hands in a slowing manner, "Woah woah dude slow down I'm a little slow so like please let me catch up."
The golden one placed a hand on the young mosskin's shoulder, "Young one, I have one question which may answer many of yours and more, if answered."
Hornet could almost see the steam come out his head as he racked his mind. The king asked it for him, "Where is the party?"
A strange question indeed, "Tell me gold one, what does that have to do with anything?"
The kings mouth curved slightly, it was strange but it looked sly to her, "Before I answer that, may I ask what your names are and a little about each of you. I'll start as you heard I am Link king of Hyrule. I like fishing and I have recently developed a taste for exotic tea's. I love my wife, Zelda, who is most beautiful, and wise and three children my oldest and heir is my daughter Aryll, 20 my middle child is Daruk 18, and my youngest is Ruta 12. They are my pride and joy. I dislike liars and thieves."
Hornet responded in courtly fashion with grace and a flair of her cloak, "I am Hornet Queen of Hallownest, Apprentice and Heir of Vesta, Councilwoman of Deepnest, Wife of their Majesties the Mantis Lords, Guardian of Hallownest. Born of God and Beast. I enjoy a clash of souls and leisure time with my sibling. Though I find liars and thieves distasteful sometimes these things are necessary, I find cowards and those who damn the consequences of their actions far worse."
The dark one went next looking at me more appraisingly than before, "I am Percy Jackson and I want to go home to my girlfriend and take a nap. I am also a half-god like Hornet is, the son of the sea god Poseiden. I like pizza and anything blue, I hate having to do this shit again. I can't even blame the gods this time, just my dumb luck that the Hero of Olympus would also be the Hero of this dreadful place. By the way where is the room service?"
The mosskin spoke next, looking at Percy when he mentioned he was a hero. "I am Midoriya Izuku, I am also a hero, named Deku, though I don't have any powers like you probably do. I like discussing quirk theory, saving people, and Ochako. I dislike supremacists and stupid people with large and fragile egos."
"Those are the same thing Midoriya." Percy told Izuku.
He had also up turned his mouth in the strange way Link did, were all squishy creatures so expressive? "I'm glad you think so. But we are getting off track your Kingshipness what was this about a party?"
🔱🔱🔱Percy POV🔱🔱🔱
Link clapped his hands together with that feral smile of his that reminded him of when one of the Stole brother's had come up with a devious plan, "Yes, the party. Now that we are all introduced, let me tell you something. As we have all noticed there was a lot of well to do types in the hall, this must have taken much time, travel, money, and coordination. Which is such a waste to these types without a party to go to afterwards and or before. So I ask where is the party? I believe that the king said this was a palace and he seems like the type that would begrudge any who would host besides him so there must be a dance hall or dining room here somewhere. I would ask if you all would like to join me."
Yeah no, Percy hated parties, he hated people who looking at him. So yeah no, luckily Izuku made a suggestion, "Actually I was hoping to look for a library and read about this kingdom and others, a little more about summoning, if magic or quirks are here. Later I planned to experiment with this shield to see what it could do too." Never mind Percy could barely read english much less what was probably a whole different language.
Then Hornet made a suggestion too, "I wanted to search the grounds and catacombs social gatherings with me present would not be optimal if you wish to gather information."
Yeah, something told Percy she didn't actually care about that and wanted to get as far away from the king as possible and maybe explore.
The king looked to Percy, "What about you Percy?"
Oh gods let's see, he hated people, well people hated him, he was a terrible reader and Hornet looked like she wanted to be left very alone right now. The king seemed very competent when it came to reading the room, and Hornet was strong so no worry there either, he was actually worried more about Midoriya. That's to long of a name, he said he had a hero name, whatever that is but he'll just use that. Anyway yeah he was more worried about Deku, he was clearly the youngest here and he hasn't shown any particular strength in stealth, combat, or talking without ranting or mumbling.
"Actually I'll go with Deku, you seem much more used to all this noble stuff and info gathering with people than us. Though reading isn't my thing, I speak four languages fluently, learning two more, and know a smattering of two others. I'll try and help Deku, you guys do your thing."
And so Percy's only question left was, "So how do we get out the door secretly with them surveying us like this?"
