Albus Dumbledore had lived an extraordinarily long and eventful life. However, the second the killing curse killed him? The old soul started gliding down a bridge of life. Albus was ready to enter the hereafter. He'd only hoped that his family would welcome him upon crossing that threshold. After all, he'd done plenty wrong to his loved ones.

He'd been seen as nearly a god among wizards during his long existence. However, the truth no one had been willing to face? Albus Dumbledore was as human as the next person.

He'd lived his life the best he could. However, like every other soul being part of the living world? He'd lived with regrets and painful memories, mistakes that had haunted him for his over hundred years of existence.

He finally reached the end of the bridge of light. At first, there wasn't anyone he could see, only vast empty white space. Then, suddenly he heard a young girl's bright laughter. His 'breathe' caught in his throat as he whispered a single word, "Arianna?" And sure enough, a beautiful girl with golden hair raced and hugged him.

"Welcome home, big brother!" his young sister greeted him. She looked so much more alive than in the world of the living. His 'heart' broke seeing her, and he couldn't help but start sobbing. He held her tightly, apologizing and pleading with her as they hugged at the threshold.

"Please forgive me, Arianna. Please!" he sobbed, to which his little sister looked up at him with a confused expression.

"Albus, why are you crying? There is no need to apologize here. In this realm, all is forgiven from the world of the living. Here we live in happiness. So don't cling to your earthly chains of pain and regret!"

"But..."

"Hush, Uncle Albus. Arianna's right. None of what came before matters here. Only love is welcome here," his nephew, Aurelius, informed him as he put his hand on his aunt's shoulder. He, too, was smiling at his uncle as if he was glad to see his uncle.

"Come, big brother. Everyone is waiting! Follow me!" as she tugged his hand and led him into the light. He stepped through the light and found himself in a large room.

The room was filled with the rest of his family and friends he'd lost over the years. Everyone was smiling, and the room was charged with contagious love. The tired old man finally felt the love and forgiveness he'd longed for for a lifetime. Finally, he was home, and all was forgiven. Now he could rest in peace.
