HEY, B*TCHES.
I just officially moved to the ✨Golden State ✨. Back to California actually lol, but I haven’t been here since I was a kid and don’t know what’s up with the cultivation scene anymore. Where does everyone hang out?? Do we have a cultivation bar yet? Is it mostly sect cultivation still or are there more of us flying solo?

Welcome back to California, Yiling! Sadly, SO sadly, we don’t have a bar! I heard NYC has a cultivator bar situation going on ?? is it ?? True?
I’m afraid the sect cultivator scene is still pretty strong here, so I don’t know much about rogue cultivation. Maybe someone else can pitch in here?

It’s still a shit show here lol!!! The rogue cultivation scene is much better in NYC. I won’t go into details, but the sects run the show in the major cities here. But California’s a big state, and they can’t go everywhere. There’s a lot for us still to do.
If you’re in the LA area, the Yi City Tea Shop 1) has good boba, and 2) is a good way to connect with some local cultivators. Either way, PM me and I can hook you up with some other locals.

Hello, YilingPatriarch. Welcome to the West Coast sub-forum. This is a reminder to all participants of this thread that personal information like sect affiliation and city names cannot be disclosed publicly on Cultivation Collective.
To answer your questions, the annual West Coast Cultivation Conference is in July. Registration is still open, and this may be a good opportunity to meet your peers. Both sect-affiliated and and not sect-affiliated cultivators practice in California.

so i THINK you’re talking about west coast sects since the east coast is pretty much all minor sets and rogue cultivation. there’s no real guide, but i can give you the 101!
so the cultivation collective forum was actually opened by Lan Qiren and Jin Guangshan, both basically leaders of prominent sects, so the forum ITSELF is political. but they also ban any kind of sect politics talk so… make it make sense.
some of the members use CC for sect promotion, so it’s kind of obvious who they are (Lan Xichen has publicly stated he’s Zewu-Jun +in a news article ). cultivating is dangerous though, so they’re big on internet privacy. even if we all know who someone is, we keep it off the forums.
rn the wens have essentially been trying to grab all the night hunts (traditional terms for ghost busting) and just doing a generally really bad job of it, so it’s got everybody on edge.

haha there’s not really a straight answer. it’s mostly cultivators participating in the “fandom” though. part of it is just everyone using the internet to google talismans, send alerts about night hunts, ask questions, etc. etc. same as any hobby fandom. the other part is… social media.

you have to remember that this is a REALLY small community ok. no one is writing real people fanfic (probably). but… do we geek out over lan zhans rest recordings?? guilty as charged. the cultivation academics niche is its own fandom too lol.

So I didn’t want to bother any real cultivators with it because… It’s annoying but not dangerous. But the pond in my neighborhood has the worst water spirit infestation right now, and the pond’s too shallow for anyone to DROWN, but it’s been a serious nuisance.
Does anyone have some advice for how to deal with this myself? I can cultivate, but I haven’t dealt with water spirits before.

Hey, Sparrow! Please don’t ever hesitate to send out a Night Hunt alert or contact your local cultivators. Water spirit infestations start out small and harmless, but they can quickly become dangerous over time.
If you decide to deal with this yourself, here’s a step-to-step guide:
