Chapter Text
They moved with the steady beat of the music. With every thump of the bass they were drawn closer. Closer and closer until Izzie could feel Casey’s breath on her face, could see her gaze drift down to her lips. Izzie knew she should move back away from the temptation that was Casey. Casey the unnervingly attractive girl in front of her. Casey the person she so desperately wanted to kiss every single second she was with her. But Izzie didn’t move back even though she was scared. Scared of what people would think, what people would say.
Casey still moved closer, seemingly unaware of Izzies inner turmoil. Izzie knew Casey would wait for Izzie to make the final move, to close the final gap not wanting to push past her boundaries. And god did Izzie want to. She wanted to be strong, wanted to show Casey just how serious she was about whatever this was between them, show her despite the fact she wouldn’t say it how much she loved her.
Izzie let herself focus on the music for a moment drawing her undivided attention away from Casey letting her think clearly for just a second. Then she felt Casey's breath against her lips and all she could think of was her yet again. Izzie let her eyes be drawn to Casey’s lips then back up to her eyes. Izzie let her face move closer till they were almost touching. Izzie let the want inside her consume her and let it overcome all the fears that were burrowed deep in her brain.
Izzie reached up, wrapped her arms around Casey’s neck pulling her forward over the final hurdle. Izzie heard Casey gently whisper her name but Izzie ignored it pulling Casey until she felt her lips against her own. Izzie kissed her. She felt the fears that had been tormenting her fade away as she felt Casey’s lips move against her own, as she felt Casey hands grip her waist and pull her as close as humanly possible.
Izzie realised in that moment that as long as she was with Casey, her best friend, her favourite person, nothing mattered. It didn’t matter what anyone thought or said as long as she had her girl. Casey broke the kiss with a smile, Izzie thought it might have been the prettiest thing she’d ever seen in her life.
“What was that?” Casey asked
“I just wanted to kiss you Newton I thought you liked fun,”
“No, no I’m not complaining I love fun,”
They stared at each other as the song continued drumming on in the background. Both of them could barely hear it, all their senses consumed by each other. Casey leaned forward again down to Izzies ear.
“Can I kiss you again?” Casey softly whispered in Izzies ear
It took Izzie a while to process Casey’s question distracted by the feel of Casey breath running down from her ear all the way down her neck. Distracted by the way it made her whole body tingle. Casey leaned back to look at Izzie when Izzie realised what she had said. She just smiled, pulling Casey back down to her lips. Izzie thought she could never get sick of how kissing Casey felt. So different to how kissing Nate had felt. Nate was too fast, too rough, all tongue, always too much and somehow never enough. Casey was soft, slow, and patient; it made Izzies whole body erupt. kissing Casey was better than anything else Izzie had ever experienced. It was better than waking up on Christmas Day to see presents under the tree, better than coming first place in the 100 meter sprint, better than everything.
“I don’t care about people knowing my business I’m sorry about earlier,” Izzie said looking up at Casey’s loving eyes.
“You don’t need to apologise I get it,” Casey replied then placed a gentle kiss on Izzie's forehead.
“Can you two get a room some of us are very alone,” Sharices voice came from beside them
Casey laughed as she wrapped her arms around Izzies waist not letting her be anything but close to her. Izzie smiled up at her girl, ignoring the way Casey’s newton friends looked at them with surprise written all over their faces. None of it mattered when she was with her girl.
