Work Text:

You know, when Coraline went to college, she expected an easy life. Just some calm simple school. Sure, mythic bitches and exams were still a thing, but they were nothing compared to the shit she had experienced in Michigan with the Other Mother.

But then she had to run into these fuckers.

“AHHHH!” She screamed as they flew off a hill and slammed into the ground with their car, trying to break the laws of physics to save their asses.

She was sitting in the passenger seat, with Wirt also screaming as he drove and the others screaming and yelling behind them.

They were currently running from a bunch of ghosts and demons that came out from a portal to Hell that Dipper accidentally created. When asked about it, Dipper said it was a long story. But they didn’t have time for that.

“DIPPER WHAT THE HELL?!” Danny cursed as he came back into the car from ghost to human, “There’s too many of them! I can’t fight them all!”

“GOD FUCKING DAMNIT DIPPER YOU LITTLE SHIT!” Coraline cursed as she hung onto the car’s door for dear life as Wirt went to 100 mph.

“HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO KNOW THAT WOULD HAPPEN?!”

“DUDE DON’T YOU GET REGULARLY POSSESSED BY A DEMON?!” Dib yelled, and Dipper protested, “HE NEVER WARNED ME ABOUT THIS SHIT!”

“WE’RE GOING TO DIE!” Norman yelled, and Danny said, “SOME OF US ARE ALREADY DEAD!”

“EVERYONE CALM DOWN!” Hilda said, “Maybe if we pull over I can convince them—“

“NO!” Everyone else yelled.

They sped through the forest, demonic screeches and howls growing behind them as they blocked out the sun.

“FUCK FUCK WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TO MIND WIPE SO MANY PEOPLE AFTER THIS FUCK!” Dipper cursed, and Wirt yelled, “THAT’S WHAT YOU GET FOR OPENING PORTALS TO HELL DIPPER!”

“AREN’T YOU A DEMON?!”

“ONLY HALF THE TIME!”

“GUYS WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?! THEY’RE GAINING ON US!” Coraline yelled as she looked out the window to see behind them only a mass black and blood and sharp teeth and demonic eyes, scrambling towards them. It’s size took half the forest easily, pushing trees and snapping wood and crushing animals as it chased them. They were barely outrunning it.

“WAIT LET’S MAKE IT BACK TO OUR DORMS!” Dib said, “Me and Danny have a bunch of stuff over there that can get these guys. Atom dispatchers and shit! WIRT GO TO THE SCHOOL!”

“NO!” Wirt yelled back, “WE CAN’T LEAD THESE GUYS BACK TO CAMPUS, OR WE’LL EVEN BE MORE FUCKED!”

“WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO THEN?!”

Danny yelled, “I can lead these guys away while you guys make it back to campus! I’M GOING GHOST!”

“DO YOU HAVE TO YELL THAT EVERYONE TIME?!”

“YES BECAUSE IT’S COOL AS FUCK!”

Then he turned back into a ghost and behind them, he heard Danny yell, “YO LOSERS, FOLLOW ME!”

Sure enough, in the rear view mirror, Coraline saw Danny fly off and all the demons following after him.

“Okay Wirt, we don’t have much time, so break every known driving law in this state like you’re life depends on it BECAUSE IT DOES!”

“Actually it’s only really you guy—“

“NOW IS NOT THE TIME WIRT, FUCKING DRIVE!”

Wirt slammed the gas pedal and now they were to the car’s max of 120 mph. They zoomed out of the forest and into the city, swerving chaotically as they tried to avoid hitting traffic. Soon enough, they had the cops on them.

“SLOW DOWN AND PULL OVER THIS INSTANT!”

They didn’t have time for this. Dipper mutter an incantation, and soon enough they heard cars crashing behind them.

“Let’s hope I didn’t kill anyone.” He said, and Dib and Norman looked at him with shock and a bit fear.

Soon enough, they were slamming the breaks at the campus, almost flipping the car in the process. They scrambled out of it, running at top speed to the male dorms as people walking around looked at them with confusion—and then screamed in pure horror as a familiar black cloud of tortured souls appeared on the horizon.

“SO MUCH FUCKING MIND WIPING!” Dipper cursed as they hurried up to the guys’ dorm rooms, even Hilda and Coraline.

They kicked the door open, Dib hurriedly opening the door to his room, and yelled, “Activate Adam protocol!”

Then a huge chunk of the wall across from them flipped to show a bunch of high tech guns and weapons on it.

“Holy shit. Dude when did you have the time to do this? It’s literally our first day here.” Norman asked as the others looked on as Dib hurriedly started pulling off weapons and explaining what they did with a bunch of words they didn’t understand.

“War waits for no man,” he said grimly when he finished, and Coraline said, “You’re fucking crazy.”

Dib laughed like an evil scientist, holding up what looked like a grenade with stripes of glowing neon blue, “That’s what everyone says! Well guess who’s the crazy one now? I am! Crazy prepared! These are atom dispatchers. It will dissipate the atoms of the demons and spread them thin.”

Everyone stared at him in confusion until Dipper said, “Basically they’ll make a demon disappear and very hard to reform.”

“You know about these?” Dib asked.

Dipper shrugged, “Yeah. My great uncle made one once to defeat the said demon that occasionally possesses my body. It would’ve worked, had not been for that damned bell.”

Everyone then looked at him with confusion, and Dipper said, “It’s also a long story.”

“You just got to aim and shoot. Nothing to it.” Dib said as he started handing out weapons to them. He offered some to Dipper and Wirt, who refused.

“We’re good.”

“Yeah. Fight fire with fire. Or in this case, demons with demonic magic.”

The pupils of the taller’s eyes flashed red, making Dib shiver.

“Okay then. Hilda, I’m not sure I can trust you with those.”

Hilda said, holding up a grenade, “Oh come on. I have great aim!”

“I’m not worried about you, I’m worried about the possible damage you can cause on the campus.”

“Fair enough. But still—“

Suddenly a jarred disharmony of roars and screeches came from outside, and Danny suddenly appeared from the wall.

“THEY’RE FUCKING HERE!”

They all ran down back outside form the dorms, and to the campus—where chaos reigned.

Humans were running and screaming in fear in all different directions as the demons and spirits howled and chased them. There were some trees and benches overturned, but nothing that couldn’t be fixed with a little magic.

Of course, Dipper would have to convince Bill to help him mind wipe the entirety of the city right afterwards.

The group quickly got to work—they all had their fair share of killing and beating up paranormal monsters. As they shot and hit the demons with beams of glowing neon blue light they screeched in pain and popped like a balloon, spreading demonic ichor all over. The ghosts, however, merely vanished into thin air.

It was a warzone. There was only frantic cursing, running, shooting, and the sounds of demons exploded into ichor with screams. Soon enough came a suffocating smell of burnt demon flesh and black ichor, a horrible mix of rotten eggs, spoiled milk and burnt rubber. People were running everywhere, even a few getting picked up by demons before Dib, Dipper or one of the others quickly killed the demon and the person held hostage ran away. The grass and trees got stained with the colors of black and blood red, making the park look like some disgusting, abstract goth painting drug-induced nightmare.

But eventually—Dib got the last one, merciless as the thing squealed and eventually turned to dust.

“Holy shit,” he said, panting, and Dipper mournfully looked over the destroyed and ichor-covered campus. “So much mind wiping. And cleaning. So much. Oh God. I’m never going to hear the end of this.”

Coraline groaned as she noticed ichor blood staining her white shirt. They surely wasn’t going to come out, even with ungodly amounts of bleach.

When she met these guys this day, the first day of her college career, she was expecting shenanigans, sure. Some partying, some drinking, maybe breaking a few laws.

But before she had knew it, it all had quickly devolved back into her life of the supernatural and paranormal.

She looked as the others panted and cursed about not having time to do their assignments and other classwork.

These guys were the only people she had ever met who had the same problems of her. With demons, childhood trauma, the paranormal and supernatural.

And sure, yeah, in her complete opinion they were all weirdos.

Dipper was a witch—who occasionally got possessed by an apparently greatly feared mind demon—and shrugged off law breaking and murder like it was no big deal.

Norman was socially awkward and could apparently see ghosts. He also had the weirdest obsession with zombie-anything. It was…almost scary.

Danny could turn into a ghost. For some reason. How? She didn’t know and honestly didn’t want to find out.

Dib had that whole edgy hero complex with aliens and probably ADHD, which she had no clue what to think about. He also seemed even stranger than the others, which was saying a lot considering how weird everyone else was.

And Hilda? The girl had no sense of self preservation. She was probably going to be the first one to die with her willingness to adventure and get into supernatural shit and then try to befriend said supernatural shit. Coraline was almost honestly scared for her life.

And Wirt was also a demon? Apparently??? That wasn’t worrying at all. Where could she even start with that?

But regardless, if anyone in college could know her and understand the shit she went through and goes through, it would be these guys.

So she would stick with them—even if it meant constant life-threatening shit like this.

Notes:

And this is why people don’t let Dipper make pentagrams and spells without Wirt anymore

Also can you all tell how sucky my violence/fighting/action scenes are?! I’m trying to improve. I really am.
