Work Text:
It wasn’t a secret that Celestia Ludenberg had a unique interest in dark and elegant topics. What was a secret, however, is that she had an unironic love for vampires.
Maybe one wouldn’t think much of the topic at first, but when thought over well enough anyone could see the plethora of problems held with the concept. Celestia was merely a mortal after all. To be fascinated by the dark and ghastly aesthetic was concerning enough, but to further that fascination into a forbidden territory with the greatest menaces of humanity? Well, it made her unorthodox interest quite scandalous, to say the least.
Everyone knew that vampires were loathed by the society Celestia grew up in. Multiple lurid incidents have caused this overwhelming fear and stigma to form around them, surrounding them constantly as if they were trapped in it like a cage. They were abominated and feared at the same time, constantly treated like wild animals: avoided until they were hunted down.
It was quite a pity, after all, Celestia has never seen a hideous vampire. Has she seen the ungodly disturbance of piles of decaying corpses that the recent groups of vampires have been leaving behind? Yes. Were any of the vampires repulsive themselves? Well, at least the ones that were caught and executed were at worst not half bad. Majority were pleasing to even her judgmental eyes, something she couldn’t say for almost any human she has ever encountered.
Maybe it was the vampires’ whole aesthetic that made Celestia feel wonders with just a simple look. Their sickly white skin that rivaled a dusty skeleton, the pitch black night that contrasted such a tone with its dim light from the crescent moon, their cold, dead, crimson eyes that matched the dark crimson red liquid that would drip from their shining fangs after they consumed the life of another being.
Celestia would shiver in both curiosity and excitement whenever she imagined a vampire’s fangs sunken deep into the neck of a human, breaking the skin and causing a red pool or liquid to spill, only for every last drop to be cleaned up by the vampire as they lick up whatever remaining bloodstains are left after sucking the human dry of its own blood. Oh, how Celestia wishes that were her.
Some would say she had a morbid curiousity, most would remark that she was either insane and belonged in a mental hospital, or that she was a stupid witch who needs to be burnt at the stake. Celestia likes to think she is cultured with an elegant taste that is far too ahead of her time.
Sure, vampires have slaughtered countless numbers of humans for centuries in a bloody conflict between the two races, but it’s not like humanity is so great either. A good amount of humanity is homophobic and transphobic, those alone already spelt out that Celestia would never be too fond of humanity as it is now. So maybe vampires would kill her without any sense of hesitation and leave her rotting corpse on the ground for the vultures to find, at least she’ll probably be able to kiss a girl in front of one and not hear a snide remark about her interests.
Besides, they also appeal to her dark and gloomy aesthetic, but not in the weird and dorky way like some emo, crybaby, loser, wannabe detective would. Rather, they immerse themselves in her aesthetic with a sense of grace and dignity that leaves Celestia in awe every time.
So yes, Celestia loves the thrill she gets whenever she hears about a vampire loose in her town. While other humans cower in fear, she secretly shivers in sweet silence at the thought of even having a chance to come face to face with a vampire. It would be a dream come true.
Granted, that dream will most likely get her killed, but Celestia has always been one to enjoy the risk of a challenge and to savor the sweetness of success as her reward for gambling so much.
Mark her words, Celestia Ludenberg will meet a vampire one day, even if it kills her.
RIIIIIIIING!
Celestia jumped a bit at the sound of the school bell, signaling that her class has ended and she’ll be free to leave after announcements, which will finish shortly. It looks like she was lost in her thoughts, tuning out her entire class. Again.
Celestia solemnly sighed, acknowledging she would no longer be able to daydream about her fascination in such a setting. School was absolutely the worst place she could be to fantasize about her vampire adoration. The students were all stingy halfwits that could never even try to understand the grace of the appeal vampires carry with them. They would all look down upon Celestia and label her a freak at best, a traitorous bloodsucker’s whore at worst. Hence, why Celestia wears her smile as a mask, keeping these desires of her a secret.
Oh, how she wishes she did not have to care about what her peers thought of her, that she could just shove them all down the longest set of stairs in the world and run away from society with an attractive vampire for a wife and live out her days in a dark castle taking care of their cat as if he were their son. She dreams of the day a beautiful vampire girl sweeps her off her feet and claims Celestia as theirs.
Alas, today sadly is most likely not that day seeing as she is in a human school. How bothersome.
Celestia was currently stuck, sitting in a class filled with stupid meathead humans who were mainly guys that would mistake instructions requiring the blood of a virgin for the blood of someone who has never had sex before like cavemen. Any decently intelligent person who has at least heard of topics in the gothic and religious fields know that it actually requires blood that was never used for a ritual. Just another example of how humanity ruins everything with its own pushed standards for their own desires, walking all over the dark beauty in this universe they take for granted.
Celestia huffed as she watched a group of rowdy boys flipping their water bottles on their desk and cheering when one landed properly. Typical, just typical. This is the future generation of humanity’s great leaders, bottle flipping and a downgraded vocabulary.
Genuinely, Celestia just wishes a vampire killed everyone in this room and then herself. That would be far more superb than sitting here with these so-called students for the rest of the year. All of her peers are just irrefutably irritating.
Well, almost all of her peers.
Celestia turned her head instinctively after she remembered her. Instantly, Celestia let out a soft sigh as a familiar wave of lavender became the focus of her vision.
Leave it to Kyoko Kirigiri to be the one infuriating yet at the same time blissful exception humanity had to offer amongst its many, many fuck ups that were doomed to fail in life and at best work in a filthy gas station that reflected their pitiful disgrace of an existence.
Celestia had no clue what exactly it was about Kyoko that made her so special compared to other humans, Celestia did not even have the faintest idea as to why she was so drawn to Kyoko, but she really didn’t care. If anything, it made the normal life she lived as a human moderately tolerable, and that alone made Celestia cherish Kyoko.
There was just this air of mystery that surrounded Kyoko, and maybe that’s why she was so appealing to Celestia. Kyoko was basically the unknown and that made her dangerous, and Celestia loved the risk involved with danger.
Well, there is also the fact that Kyoko’s beauty is the most captivating thing that Celestia has ever seen. For such a face that constantly wears a stoic and firm mask, Kyoko is still a beauty that is a sight for sore eyes. Maybe it was the luscious lavender locks that Celestia loved and craved to comb her fingers through. Or maybe it was her stunning lilac eyes that held cold gazes, further creating this sense of mystery that twinkled glamour in Celestia’s interest. Or maybe it was her rose perfume that Kyoko seemed to constantly douse herself in for some reason, much to Celestia's enjoyment. Or maybe it was how she never took off her gloves? Or how Kyoko would sassily have a comeback to any offensive remark aimed at her? Or maybe it was the glare she held that one time she let her walls down for a second, showing rage when a classmate started teasing her about refusing to speak about her family?
Maybe it’s because she was a loner, such a contrast to Celestia who would fake a smile to manipulate people so that they could never find out her secret interests that are considered the equivalent of treason to her own race. Maybe it was because Kyoko was real, a mesmerizing concept that was almost unknown to the lying and daydreaming Celestia. Maybe it was that contrast that both frustrated her about how she had not the slightest clue about Kyoko, yet at the same time enthralled her with the girl.
Maybe, just maybe, it was all of those things she listed wrapped up in a beautiful bundle named Kyoko Kirigiri.
Yeah, Celestia adored many aspects of Kyoko, never knowing which one to settle on. She was just that interesting, and maybe that’s why she intrigued Celestia so much. Maybe that’s why whenever Celestia heard Kyoko’s voice, her heart would skip a beat.
Celestia adored risks, she adored gothic aesthetics, she adored vampires, cats, milk tea, and many other things. Most surprisingly though, she adored the mysterious girl who sat across from her in class that everyone else seemed to avoid. Those were all the things Celestia had adored.
And whenever Celestia adores something, she will risk whatever she can to obtain it.
After hearing the bell ring once more, Celestia looked around her classroom and decided right then and there that today was going to be an interesting day because today will be the day she finally asked Kyoko out.
Maybe it wasn’t a decision she should make on the spot. Celestia was quite popular thanks to her gambling and deception skills, allowing her to impress or fool anyone so they don’t strike at her. However, Kyoko was not one for social hierarchies. Celestia swears Kyoko would bite another student who tried to force her into a conversation if deemed socially acceptable.
Ah, what a woman Kyoko was. However, being with her out of the blue would create unwanted attention for both of them and would basically make Celestia come out to everyone. And that's only what would happen if Kyoko said yes.
Which she will. After all, Celestia is, well, Celestia. Only a stone-cold loner with no social skills whatsoever who prefers to get off on their Friday nights by reading crime novels would even consider turning Celestia down.
Wait….
Fuck.
Okay, so Kyoko’s answer could possibly be no, but Celestia at least knows she isn’t straight. How you might ask?
Well Celestia may or may not have been scrolling through Instagram, totally not checking out Kyoko’s account and struggling to slide into the girls dms and start a conversation or anything. Celestia doesn’t necessarily remember how, but somehow she stumbled upon a rabbit hole of pictures of Ibuki Mioda in a suit that Kyoko liked on her account. When Celestia asked her about it, Kyoko simply said that she just admires women in suits or who have nose piercings and wants to wear both of them herself.
Does not matter whether that response was an excuse or not, either way Kyoko Kirigiri isn’t straight and neither is Celestia.
Like, come on, there is no straight girl who constantly likes pictures of Ibuki Mioda in suits just because she thinks they are “neat”. No, that is a women-love-women tendency, otherwise lesbianism has lied to Celestia!
Anyways, Kyoko definitely isn’t straight, and knowing that is enough for Celestia to risk coming out if it means at the end of the day she can grow closer to Kyoko and finally unravel the deep and ominous mystery behind those lilac eyes she can only currently admire from afar.
When Celestia finally spotted Kyoko, her heart began to race. However, it was not in a girlish crush excitement, but rather indisputable horror as she watched Kyoko swiftly leave the classroom without a second thought.
No, she can’t leave yet, she needs to stay put until Celestia can fucking amaze Kyoko and fluster her when she gracefully asks Kyoko out god damnit!
Celestia hurried her way out of the classroom, not even sparing a glance at the boys surrounding her in her classroom like a pack of hyenas. Like hell she was going to let any of those insolent buffoons get in her way of courting Kyoko. When one tried to get in her way, she glared at them with the fury of a demon and they instantly cowered in fear, allowing her to swiftly pass them and escape the treacherous classroom so she could begin to tail Kyoko.
Another infuriatingly amazing thing about Kyoko was that she was a clever girl. Celestia would have to be careful when following her, otherwise Kyoko might catch her in the act and ruin her plans. Thankfully, Celestia was a master manipulator as the queen of liars, and that has given her years of experience of quietly walking down halls so she could eavesdrop on others, or pretending to be going somewhere else so that it wasn’t suspicious she was following someone, but rather a coincidence. Doesn’t matter if she was wearing heels or was not even a foot away from her target, she somehow always managed to pull it off. Yet still, she couldn’t help but be cautious with Kyoko, she would be a fool to think Kyoko was one to be easily tricked.
No, for once Celestia was faced with an opponent who brought an actual challenge to the table. The thought of overcoming this challenge left Celestia tingling with excitement, ready to burst out in a prideful overconfidence for her future success.
Celestia made sure to keep her eyes on Kyoko as they quietly moved down the hall, Kyoko still unaware of Celestia's presence. Blurs of random faces constantly passed by them, never once questioning the two girls. Good, this is very good. Celestia only had to keep this up a little bit longer.
As if she could read Celestia’s thoughts, Kyoko turned around, scanning the halls as if to mock Celestia’s confidence. Granted, it did startle her, but Celestia wasn’t a fool. She was the queen of liars, she could handle this.
Celestia quickly turned towards the first locker she saw and began to pretend to open it. Risky bet, if Kyoko stared for too long, she would uncover Celestia’s bluff. Celestia didn’t care though, the odds were in her favor. All she had to do was just twist the knob on the lock around a few times before Kyoko turned her back again and all would be good. Just a few more seconds and…
When Celestia sneakily glanced at Kyoko’s direction, she noticed that Kyoko was still standing there silently scanning the halls. Dear god who burns in the pits of hell, why is she still looking for someone! She hasn’t caught Celestia yet, that Celestia was sure of, otherwise Kyoko would have confronted her already. So why is Kyoko doing this? What, was she suddenly the ultimate hall monitor or some lame title like that?
Fuck, now what should she do? Any second now and Kyoko is going to realize that this isn’t her locker and then it’s game over, she’ll lose. Celestia can’t afford for that to happen, she detests losing. Quick, she just needs to think, damnit! Either that, or she is screwed for—
“Hey, uh, Celestia?”
A meek voice snapped Celestia out of her thoughts. Turning around, Celestia saw one of her guy classmates had appeared right behind her. They were holding one of their fingers up, about to tap her. She quickly swatted it away, disturbed by the guy.
“What do you want?” Celestia barked while glaring daggers at the guy. She was already pissed that her plan was going to be ruined-
Wait, this can be her escape route if she plays her cards right!
“Well that’s my—“ the guy began to explain, but Celestia couldn’t give two shits about whatever he had to say. What she needed was a cover ASAP.
“Shin, is that you? Why didn’t you say hi earlier?” Celestia exclaimed a bit extra loud so that Kyoko would hear as well, granting Celestia a cover story.
“Oh, well I um— I’m not Shin. My name is actually Leon, we've shared classes with each other for three years now?“ The guy corrected her. He then rubbed the back of his neck as he let out an awkward and pained laugh.
Ah yes. Those three years were three years far too many for Celestia’s liking.
“Yeah, I don’t care. Besides, Shin is a cooler name.” She said, playing with a bit of her hair as she waited for the interaction to end. God, the things she has to go through to ask out a damn girl.
“I— can I just please get to my locker?” He asked in a defeated tone that sounded like he was internally crying. Ugh, his piercings might be cool, but what a baby.
Then again, she was a bitch, Celestia won’t deny that. But at least she now won’t lose her chance to ask out the girl she liked.
Celestia turned her head to check if Kyoko was still scanning the halls and just barely caught her leaving down an empty hallway. Perfect timing, as it should be after the mini heart attack Celestia had.
“It’s all yours Keiji.” She giggled, patting him on the shoulder as a small showcase of gratitude for his unconscious help before turning around to leave.
“Thanks, I guess? Also, my name is-“
“My, my, would you look at that? I still don’t care.” Celestia laughed before running off down the hall Kyoko had gone.
When Celestia entered the hall, it was completely empty. There were only lockers and classroom doors for the eye to see, not a single dash of lavender that Celestia oh so adored.
Fucking shit, where is she?! What, did Kyoko all of the sudden have the power to magically disappear? She couldn’t have gotten that far in not even a minute beforehand, so where is she?
Celestia quietly grumbled as she began to storm through the hallway, viciously turning her head back and forth in hopes of somehow spotting Kyoko or to make her appear out of thin air. After a few minutes, Celestia leaned against the wall for a break, letting out a defeated sigh.
Right when she was about to give up and call it a day, she smelt a familiar rose scent around one of the doors. Roses, that’s what Kyoko smelt like. Celestia instantly perked up and began to follow the scent until she came face-to-face with the door. She didn’t bother to even read the sign, immediately checking if the door was unlocked. It, in fact, was.
Celestia silently cheered in a mini celebration. This had to be the place where Kyoko ran off to. A bit odd, seeing just how secluded the room was. Then again, Kyoko was a dorky loner, it makes sense.
Quietly, Celestia opened the door and made her way inside, making sure to lock the door after she successfully snuck in. She then turned around and instantly saw the luscious lavender she very much so adored. Finally, she found her target. She let out a happy giggle before she could suppress it. Kyoko then looked up upon hearing the sound with a startled expression, like a deer caught in headlights.
Before Celestia could even say anything to Kyoko, or gay panic over her mistake and being caught by her crush for that matter, she noticed something. Celestia froze upon her observation, being overwhelmed with confusion and all types of stimuli.
The first sensation Celestia registered was a pungent, somewhat metallic, stench that reeked death. The next was a vision of dark crimson ominously oozing out of a mysterious object like runny eggs, only to be carelessly smeared and stained against pale white flesh and shining white teeth. That’s when Celestia registered a third observation, the pointy, little, white fangs that gleamed against the contrasting stained crimson against the teeth and the corner of the perpetrators mouth.
Blood. Death. Fangs. It didn’t take long for Celestia to make the connection. But holy fuck, Kyoko Kirigiri was a vampire.
As soon as that realization hit her, Celestia felt a fierceful force pushed upon her and shoved her up against the wall. She squeezed her eyes shut in response to the mild pain that now stung her back that was forcefully pressed against the cold, hard wall. Pressure squeezed her wrists as they were firmly held by a contrastingly soft glove, restraining her arms. A leg then snaked its way in between her own pair, causing Celestia to be helplessly straddled. When Celestia opened her eyes, she was met with a blazing lilac that shined in both rage and mystery. Albeit her best attempts to repress it, Celestia shuddered against the fierce gaze and let out something that was a mix between a whimper and gasp due to the sheer shock resonating inside of her.
Out of all the things Celestia had expected to happen today, being pinned up against the wall in a secluded hallway by the captivating girl who she had been crushing on for ages who she has also just discovered is secretly a vampire was certainly not one of them, to say the least.
Not that Celestia was one to complain, this was very, very hot. She guessed some dreams actually do come true. She just hopes fate doesn’t immediately take her up on that statement about how she would happily die if this were to happen. Celestia would at least like a solid five minutes to admire Kyoko’s beauty before she sucked Celestia up like her life depended on it.
Kyoko was currently heaving over Celestia, her warm, heavy breaths softly tickled Celestia’s neck. Despite the blatant rush and panic in Kyoko’s actions, she still somehow managed to perfectly keep her stoic mask up with Celestia. This both frustrated and excited Celestia for what was to come next. It would at the very least be interesting, that’s for sure.
The two then stood there in silence for a few minutes, only the gruff sounds of Kyoko’s heavy breathing were heard. The tension was thick enough to cut with a knife, and that agonized Celestia. Here she was, helplessly pinned under a hot vampire girl her age, and all she could do was anxiously wait for a reaction as Kyoko stared her down. She was immersed in the situation, the blatant stench of blood, the soft haze of lilac staring her down, the warmth of Kyoko’s breath, the roughness in Kyoko’s current touch as she captured Celestia. It all made Celestia’s stomach swirl in nerve-racking joy.
Finally after what felt like forever, Kyoko awkwardly shifted a bit so that she could fully look over Celestia, causing the latter to anxiously swallow air. Celestia could feel her mouth dry up as she anticipatingly bit her lip while Kyoko checked her out. When Kyoko finished, she let out a soft, exasperated sigh that, Celestia would admit, had startled her.
“What are you doing here?” Kyoko asked, both her gaze and tone were cold.
“Oh my, I guess I magically appeared. What are you doing here?” Celestia repeated Kyoko’s question with an annoyingly ‘innocent’ smile.
Kyoko scowled at that comment, the motion allowed Celestia to get a better look at Kyoko’s fangs that were now gritted in annoyance. Meanwhile, Kyoko’s cold gaze still fixated on Celestia, not leaving her for even a second. For just a slight moment, Celestia made out what could only be rage from Kyoko’s expression.
God is she cute when she gets mad.
“Cut the crap Celestia, I want to know what exactly is going on.” Kyoko demanded in a low, threatening tone as she leaned in closer to Celestia.
Their proximity sent a shiver throughout Celestia’s body as if it were electricity, tingling her as she stared deeper into Kyoko’s bright lilac eyes that glared Celestia down. Kyoko’s penetrating gaze only stirred more things inside of her, causing a burning sensation to travel up Celestia all the way to her cheeks that were now tinted in a bright, bashful pink.
Celestia wanted to turn into a puddle of mush right then and there, but she couldn’t let Kyoko fluster her too much. The game wasn’t over yet, and until it ended, she was going to play her cards carefully. Celestia strives for victory, and she was determined to beat Kyoko, even in the rather odd circumstances.
“Isn’t it funny how you're the one to say that when I’m the one who is being restrained up against the wall?” Celestia casually asked with a small, impish grin.
“Celestia.”
“Dear, you know that I’m not wrong.”
Kyoko tightened her grip against Celestia’s wrists, quietly leaning in closer to Celestia. “Answer the question already.” She enjoined Celestia.
“Alright, alright.” Celestia defeatedly sighed. She was already weak in the legs from all of this, she might as well give in before she melted under Kyoko’s touch. “I thought you would be in this room so I came in to say hi.”
“And how did you find this room exactly? Nobody ever comes here.”
Of course she would ask that next. Well, there is no point in hiding it from her now.
“I followed you,” Celestia casually said.
“You stalked me?” Kyoko almost sounded a bit astonished. Maybe that is astonishment for Kyoko with that stoic mask of hers.
“No, no, no. Stalk is such a strong word, I merely saw you leave and followed you after class for a few minutes hoping to say hi, nothing more.”
“So, you stalked me.”
“...Well, now I know how Joe felt.”
“Joe?”
“Some guy with a stupid beard and cool piercings who’s name I can’t bother to remember. He’s okay I guess, don’t ask about it though. Let’s just agree to disagree, okay?”
“Okay, then…” Kyoko quietly mumbled, pausing for a second to think carefully about what she was going to ask next as she quietly eyed Celestia in suspicion. “So, what exactly did you see?”
Celestia stiffened up, feeling the heat radiate from her face at the mere thought of the sight she saw Kyoko in when she first entered. It was so dark and elegant albeit surrounded by the bloody mess of death. Then again, there still are signs of that mess stained onto Kyoko’s face. Celestia was then overwhelmed with the desire to tease Kyoko about it.
Celestia was a confident person, sometimes too bold for her own good. However, wriggling one of her wrists out of Kyoko’s grasp to softly cup the side of Kyoko’s face and gently stroke at the stained blood above her lips was a bit daring, even for Celestia, the gambling queen herself.
Kyoko stiffened upon the gentle touch. Celestia didn’t know whether it was out of shock, fear, or embarrassment that Kyoko froze, but she didn’t really care either way. She just simply continued, immersed in the situation she was in. She loved how soft Kyoko’s skin was, how soft her lips were, and how cold her flesh was against Celestia’s warm hand. The contrast pleases both of the girls long enough for Celestia to finish her job of wiping off some of the smudged blood from Kyoko’s lips.
“Kyoko darling,” Celestia kept her ever so innocent smile as she pulled back her hand, showing Kyoko the blood now smudged onto her fingers. “I think we both know what I saw. And pardon moi, but you are a bit of a messy eater, dear. You should look into working on that,” Celestia said as she watched in pride as shock and anger appeared in Kyoko’s features. Celestia bit back her lip, wanting to savor this moment, to savor the beauty of teasing a riled up Kyoko. “Then again, it is a bit attractive to see a pretty girl like you stained in red. A bold fashion choice, but the color suits you Kyoko.”
“Don’t you dare mock me about this,” Kyoko growled with a glare that rivaled a lion that was ready to pounce on its prey. She quickly grabbed Celestia’s free wrist and restrained her again.
“It was only a little tease.” Celestia said as she avoided Kyoko’s gaze, not really sure why Kyoko was so freaked out about this, but was enjoying the interaction nonetheless.
“Do you think this is funny? Do you even realize what’s at stake here? Both of our lives are now endangered by the other now that you know this... this secret of mine. We could be killed at any second now because of this. Is that really a laughing matter to you? Because if so, you're even more apathetic than I thought.” Kyoko spat, yet her voice didn’t hold any malice. No, it held something Kyoko would probably curse at herself for not repressing better: fear.
For whatever reason, it stung deeply in Celestia’s heart to see Kyoko like this. So Celestia carefully looked over Kyoko after that, trying to figure out what exactly her deal was. After seeing the fear dwell in Kyoko’s eyes and the pain in her ever so slightly quivering lip that she bit down to keep still, Celestia realized what was the real issue for her here.
“Ah, so that’s why you’re so stressed. You’re worried that I’ll tell others about your secret.”
Right, there is this whole discrimination and racial war thing going on between humans and vampires as they keep on slaughtering each other mercilessly. Celestia kinda forgot about the foolish tension between their races. In her defense though, it’s hard to remember the little things when Kyoko fucking Kirigiri is straddling her and has her fangs about five inches away from her neck, ready to take Celestia at any moment and feast on her like all of her wild fantasies.
Kyoko stayed silent. Her expression was impossible to read, even for Celestia. So Celestia waited a few seconds before deciding to press on a bit more.
“You don’t have any faith in me or any of my kind, do you? I mean, why would you? You think everyone will now find out you’re a vampire because of me. You think that because now I know your secret, I’ll team up with other humans and get you killed if you don’t do something about it. That is why you are so mad, that’s why you are holding me down right now. All of this is because of your trust issues with my kind, the same trust issues that are now being projected onto me for being a human. You’re… You’re scared of me right now. Am I right?” Celestia questioned, carefully watching Kyoko for her reaction.
Kyoko at first looked baffled, but soon her gawking eyes morphed into a blazing fury and her mouth that hung agape quickly closed with an irritated scowl that allowed one of Kyoko’s bloody fangs to show. Kyoko once again tightened her grip on her hold of Celestia, this time pressing her body against Celestia as she leaned in close.
Uh oh, Celestia must have overstepped somewhere with Kyoko, and now she was trapped, fully pressed up against both the wall and an enraged Kyoko. She had no clue whether she should feel over the moon, extremely turned on or be fearing for her life about now. Probably all of the above.
Celestia quivered under Kyoko’s touch, Kyoko’s cold gaze, and just Kyoko in general. She could smell the mixed scent of blood and roses from Kyoko, and it left Celestia light headed. Celestia tried to recollect herself, but she could feel her own heart beating out of her chest at this recent change in events. Celestia was just a bit too flustered to fully compose herself, and that left her vulnerable to Kyoko who looked down upon her with this lifeless gleam of dread in her eyes.
“Yeah, I am nervous, I constantly have to hide myself in fear of being murdered from a human. So what? You’re going to psychoanalyze me and then mock me some more? Well fine, go nuts. But y'know what, that’s not the only thing that worries me about this situation, so stop acting like you know everything about me.” Kyoko spat, her voice rough and cold as if it was meant to tease and torment Celestia’s ears.
Kyoko was clearly pissed, her stoic mask that she always held being long forgotten now. Her words stung deep and yet it wasn’t the forced malice in Kyoko’s actions or speech that touched Celestia’s heart. What hit Celestia was the insecurity of Kyoko, her fear for her life that Celestia was oblivious to until now.
It must not have been easy hiding herself around so many humans, and with all the massacres of both races, it makes sense that she was scared. And Celestia hated that, because Kyoko shouldn’t have to feel this way.
She was a mesmerizing beauty, even now with blood stained lightly on her lips and fuming with a nervous rage, Celestia was helpless against her. Her beauty was that spellbinding, one that rivaled a gothic castle in elegance and charm.
She was mysterious as she was unknowingly kind. As elegant as she was smart. She was so much more than just the blood sucking monster the media tried to make her out to be. Celestia knew that. Of course she did, she has admired Kyoko all year after all. From every witty remark to the little times she managed to control the chaos of the class, Kyoko was truly amazing in Celestia’s eyes. She was something genuine despite living a lie. Celestia knew a thing or two about living one of those, but at least Kyoko has understandable reasons, at least she still happened to be this paradox of an authentic person while living her lie. Upon realizing this, Celestia could only respect and adore Kyoko even more.
She was a gorgeous leader, but looking at her now it could be easy to forget that. She was worked up, she was pissed off, she was scared even if Kyoko would never admit to it.
And it was all because of something out of both of their control. An unfortunate reveal, a vampire and human faced one another. And yet seeing Kyoko now, despite her actions and words, it was clear to Celestia that neither of them wanted to see the other killed.
This was most definitely a game. Celestia was right all along. It’s a dual match, two liars with their own cards as if they were playing poker. Their moves were calculated and careful, but at the end of the day it still came down to their luck with the hand they were given in life as well as the flop of the cards with the uncomfortable events that were thrown their way. It was now the turn, and Celestia could see how some things were getting out of hand, Kyoko was heated, but she was also clearly bluffing. Now all Celestia could do was stay silent and play her cards carefully before the river.
It was fun and adorable at first, all playful teasing. Now things felt vulnerable in a way neither girl had planned. And there Celestia was left, immersed in her own thoughts, in being trapped between the wall and Kyoko and seeing this new side of her crush that she never expected to unravel before. It left her breathless, it left her wanting more.
And yet Celestia was worried too, she wasn’t ready for the vulnerability yet. While she could egg Kyoko on, she couldn’t find it in her to confess her true thoughts or feelings yet in fear that it might only make Kyoko more spiteful towards her. Maybe Kyoko would hate her, or think Celestia was a joke.
Then Celestia would lose - or rather, the phrase she dreadfully must acknowledge, she would be rejected by someone she admires so much.
And so Celestia stayed silent, her collected features and grin being plastered across her face like her own mask. A poker face that had her parallel to Kyoko's stoic mask. And all Celestia did was quietly watch Kyoko, who looked back at her with fire in her eyes. That gaze read to Celestia like an open book. Kyoko was determined to live, she was determined to take control of the situation. She wasn’t going to let calling her insecurity out slide. And Celestia wouldn’t either, she was far too proud and bewitched by Kyoko to even try and form a complaint. Celestia’s insides were currently a disastrous mess of excited adoration and sympathetic care for Kyoko. She couldn’t decide what she wanted further from this interaction besides somehow miraculously just being with Kyoko. And so she was left in silence, under the mercy of Kyoko’s fury towards their predicament.
“You’re a bitch Celestia, why would I ever trust you with this secret?” Kyoko finally asked after a few minutes had passed.
“Yeah, that’s probably fair.” Celestia shrugged the comment off as she focused on composing herself, only causing Kyoko to scowl more.
“You really don’t care what happens, do you?”
“Kyoko, dear, I never once said that. I’m merely just trying to enjoy our time together, however unorthodox it might be.”
Kyoko scoffed. “You would be the type to enjoy this. What, do you find it funny?”
“I think… it’s beautiful.” Celestia whispered, biting back the urge to say what she really thinks.
‘I think you’re beautiful, and I wish you could see that.’
“Ah, yes, because I’m meant to believe that you find blood and death beautiful.”
“Maybe it’s a strange fascination, but you seem to make it entrancing.”
Kyoko stiffened up at Celestia’s comment. The words left her feeling kinda fuzzy as if her body betrayed her, and that only frustrated Kyoko more and more as she looked at Celestia’s smug grin.
“Stop messing around with me, Celestia. I already told you what is at stake here,” Kyoko said.
“Yes yes, what’s at stake is that either of us could be burned on the literal stake. I’m well aware of our society, Kyoko.” Celestia rolled her eyes.
“Then how are you so calm?”
“Because unlike you, I’m not scared.” Celestia said in a playful, singsong voice as she began to regain her confidence.
“What is that supposed to imply?”
Celestia let out a small giggle. Not necessarily because she found the question funny, but more so out of her own nerves about the idea of confessing. However, when she saw Kyoko’s confused glare, she internally cussed herself out and gulped on air as she realized what she had just done.
“Oh, well, shouldn't you know, Miss top student?” Celestia teased, too flustered to come up with a better response.
Kyoko furrowed her eyebrows as she slightly tightened her grip around Celestia, not enough to hurt her but enough to give a small warning as Kyoko attempted to intimidate the other girl.
“Stop teasing me,” she said.
“I’m sorry, but in my defense, you’re just so cute to tease when you get worked up like this.” Celestia said without thinking. Well fuck, there goes being subtle about her crush.
Kyoko blinked a few times, trying to shake Celestia’s words off but they kept replaying in her mind. She didn’t know how to feel, it was all just so confusing.
“What on earth is wrong with you?” She managed to ask, her anger toning down as she looked more puzzled, pleading for some answer to finally ease her mind.
“A lot of things, knowing society, doctors would probably credit it to my ADHD.”
“I-“
“You?” Celestia jokingly mimicked Kyoko, adoring once again their interaction and seeing Kyoko so worked up.
“…Shut up.” Kyoko huffed with a gruff sigh.
Celestia stared at Kyoko for a minute. While she enjoyed this moment, it was clearly overwhelming Kyoko.
“Kyoko, darling, you seriously need to relax. If vampires are similar to humans, then this stress cannot be good for your health,” Celestia said.
“Oh can it Celestia, you are the last person I want to hear that from.”
“Oh really, why is that?”
“Why? Because you can’t even take this seriously.”
“I might be having fun, but I know exactly what’s going on and the risks I am taking. You’re the one getting worked up.” Celestia pointed out.
“Because one of us might die and I can’t let that happen, I think I’ve earned a right to be a little stressed,” Kyoko said defensively.
“Well, that’s not going to happen, stop worrying about an irrational fear.”
“You don’t know that, you don’t even know me that well.”
“And neither do you know me that well, but I know both you and myself well enough to know this fear of yours is irrational.”
“Well, I know you well enough to know you are a pain in the neck right now.”
“Oh you certainly know how to flatter a girl Kyoko, but if I really am a pain in your neck, you could always get back at me with a bite to mine,” Celestia offered with a smirk.
For just a short second, Kyoko’s eyes widened in horror at that statement. “What’s wrong with you? Don’t joke about that!”
“Bold of you to assume I was joking.”
“Christ, I’m trying to avoid killing you or turning you into a vampire, why are you like this?”
“Why are you letting me be like this?”
“Cause I don’t want to die Celestia. I’m sick and tired of the way our society runs.”
“And yet you are still scared enough of a human to pin them down to the wall.”
“I need to make sure you won’t say anything.”
“Even so, going back and forth like this won’t change anything. You can’t control everything Kyoko, trust me dear, I’ve tried before.” Celestia looked Kyoko up and down before commenting, ”But maybe you think you’re different?”
“Don’t mock me.” Kyoko growled.
“I’m just saying the honest truth, you can’t control me or anyone else, even if you are a vampire. It’s pointless. So it’s better to stop trying to force it and save yourself the stress.”
“Stop nagging me like you’re my mother.”
“Well someone had to say it, and I doubt you’d realize it, or at the least accept it, seeing how you aren’t like the other vampires.” Celestia calmly commented with nonchalance.
Kyoko froze for a second, anger igniting in her eyes once again as if Celestia just flicked a switch.
“What?” Kyoko asked, her voice sounding restrained.
“What?” Celestia questioned back, not realizing what she just did to Kyoko.
“That’s it, you want me to be like all the other vampires, then I’ll take your advice and be like all the other vampires if it means ending this!” Kyoko said.
Before Celestia could register what was happening, she felt Kyoko further entrap her in their hold. With a stronger grip that held Celestia’s hands in place as if they were glued to the wall to their bodies being pressed even closer together, little space was left and all Celestia could do was patiently wait and watch for Kyoko’s next move. That didn’t stop Celestia’s heart from nearly bursting out of her chest from this action, however.
“I swear to god Celestia, if anyone finds out about this, I’ll kill you.” Kyoko threatened in a low voice, her gaze and expression were both dead serious.
Now, that shocked Celestia. Just those three little words slipping from Kyoko’s lips, dripping with malice. I’ll kill you. It was usually something one would hear as an empty threat or bluff when they pissed someone off too much. Celestia was used to lies and bluffs, she has used both multiple times to protect herself in life. However, the look in Kyoko’s eyes, the tone of her voice, the grip of her hold on Celestia, all of it spelt out that this was not just some empty threat.
Whether either of them wanted her to or not, Kyoko meant what she said. And of course she would, if this was anyone in their school but literally Celestia, she’d have to protect herself and her secret to survive. That fear alone was the sole factor that made Kyoko’s statement no ordinary empty threat. She was serious.
Most humans would be mortified by this, probably sobbing and screaming pleas as they begged the vampire to spare their life. Celestia Ludenberg, however, was no ordinary human.
No, in some twisted way, Kyoko’s words lit a spark inside of Celestia. It enthralled her, leaving her in this dangerous situation that she had no clue how would end and could only play on in a gamble for her life. It was so deranged, so ludicrous, so, so risky.
Celestia hated her boring hackneyed human life. But all of this? Well, Celestia absolutely adored everything about this, especially Kyoko.
“Oh, really?” Celestia couldn’t help but wear a small, challenging grin. “And how do you plan on doing that?”
Kyoko stiffened up at Celestia calling her play. Now it was her turn to make a move, and it didn’t seem like Kyoko was the type of girl to back down.
“If I find out you told someone, I’ll drag you back here by the throat and slam you against the wall,” Kyoko monotonously whispered. “Then, I’ll bite your neck, digging my fangs deep into your skin until they sink into a pile of your blood.”
Celestia felt an electric chill run down her spine as each threat fell from Kyoko’s mouth. Who would've thought something so cold and cruel could sound so intriguingly heavenly. Celestia didn’t care how crazy things were currently, the more time she spent with Kyoko today, the more she wished this moment would never end.
“Then, I’ll slowly suck the blood from your body drip by drip, at an agonizing pace that will leave you shivering and begging me to get things over with.” Kyoko tilted her head and leaned in to whisper in Celestia’s ear. “And when I’m finally done, you'll be nothing but a corpse that’ll be left for the cops to find. Cold. Dead. Lifeless.” Kyoko vitriolically said, pulling herself back with a cocky smile, expecting Celestia to be shaking in fear.
“Oh my.” Celestia mumbled. She felt light-headed and breathless after hearing that.
Kyoko furrowed her eyebrows. “...That’s it?”
“What’s wrong Kyoko dear?”
“I just explicitly threatened to kill you, and your only reaction is ‘oh my?’ No crying? No begging for your life and promising you will keep my secret? All you have to say is ‘oh my?’”
“Oh, I see, pardon moi, give me just a second to fix that for you darling,” Celestia said before she cleared her throat. “Ahem, oh my! I have been pinned against the wall and straddled by this super hot, gorgeous vampire girl my age who is really fit and could kill me if she wanted to in two seconds flat and has stated so. Woe is me. Whatever shall I, a mere, defenseless lesbian mortal, do?”
“...”
“Was that reaction to your liking?” Celestia had a kittenish grin as she watched Kyoko just become so done with everything.
Kyoko silently stiffened as confusion and frustration spinned in her mind. Celestia watched the gears of realization slowly turn in Kyoko’s head as her mask fell further and further down the more baffled she became from Celestia.
“What the fuck Celestia, are you—“ Kyoko’s eyes slightly widened and a blush tinted her face as she finally released Celestia from her grip, much to Celestia’s disappointment. “Are you into this?”
“Je ne sais quoi?"
“What?”
“What?” Celestia reiterated all sweetly.
Kyoko pinched her nose and exasperatedly sighed. “....Celestia, I’m asking if you have some type of vampire fetish.”
“I wouldn’t call it a fetish per se, it’s more so an unorthodox adoration.” Celestia explained, pink tinting her cheeks at the topic.
“Oh dear lord.”
Kyoko softly groaned as Celestia began to stretch her wrist, a little sore from being restrained for so long. Kyoko sent her what seemed to be an apologetic look, but Celestia just shrugged. She had rather enjoyed the moment, so it wasn’t a big deal. If anything, she was more embarrassed about Kyoko realizing she has a thing for vampires before she even had a chance to ask Kyoko out.
“Well, now you know a secret of mine, so I guess we are even,” Celestia said.
“No, this doesn’t mean you won’t rat me out. You can easily prove that I’m a vampire, and I can still very well be killed if that gets out. I, on the other hand, can’t easily prove that you have a thing for my kind,” Kyoko pointed out, her tone was serious but has greatly calmed down compared to their earlier position.
“Kyoko, darling, you’re an intelligent girl. Please use that beautiful muscle in your pretty little head. Why in the seven names of hell would I ever out a vampire if I have a thing for vampires?”
Kyoko stood there in a stunned silence for a few seconds, slightly baffled and flustered once more. Celestia adored the sight, basking in every reaction she got as under normal circumstances Celestia would never get to see this from Kyoko. It made the risk and thrill of the interaction all the more rewarding for Celestia.
“Okay, that’s fair,” Kyoko finally said, not knowing what else to say about this whole situation.
“See, so we’re good here now.”
“No, I still can’t afford to just let you walk out of here after you found out my secret.” Kyoko paused for a second to think. “Hm, this might be annoying, but it’s still a far better alternative than risking death. How about I just follow you around for a bit?”
“So you’re going to stalk me?” Celestia raised an eyebrow teasingly at Kyoko, who rolled her eyes in response, but also wore a small smile now that she was more relaxed. A glorious sight and win for Celestia, if she does say so herself.
“You really don’t let things go, do you?” Kyoko asked with a knowing sigh.
“What can I say, I like to always win, even when it’s not necessary.” Celestia flashed Kyoko her signature faux innocent smile that screamed mischief to the knowing eye. “After all, it’s what sets apart the survivors and the rulers of the world.”
“You’re strange.”
Celestia paused for a second, taking the chance to look Kyoko up and down. “You know, I think you are too.”
“Huh?”
“You’ve said it before, but I think we both need to hear this again. Be honest with me, you never wanted to kill me, did you?” Celestia asked, staring deeply into Kyoko’s eyes. As she expected, there was a bit of an amazed shock in her eyes.
“No,” Kyoko quietly mumbled.
“Have you ever killed anyone before?”
“Also no.”
“For your age, that is a bit strange for a vampire, don’t you agree?” Celestia bluntly asked, causing Kyoko to frown.
“Look, I just don’t agree with the morals of my race, okay?”
“How so?” Celestia asked without thinking, earning an exasperated stare from Kyoko. “That is, if you don’t mind me asking.”
Kyoko sighed in frustration, shaking her head as she just imagined the horrid standards of the world they lived in.
“It’s just all so idiotically uncivilized. I don’t even know what our basic unspoken rules are now. It’s all like we have gone back in history, trapped in a bloody mindset. Eye for eye? Tooth for tooth? At the end of the day, what do we get for ruthlessly killing each other without acknowledging the other race’s morality? Massive deaths? Destroyed cities? Burning tensions where we have to lie to each other just to live in peace?” Kyoko's hands turned into fists, clenching them tighter with each thing she listed. “If you ask me, the whole thing is a load of crap. Life is life. We all just want peace, why is it so hard to leave each other alone? I’m not attached to any human or anything, but I would avoid killing one at all cost if I could.”
“Wow,” Celestia breathlessly said. It was all Celestia could say after hearing that. Just wow.
“You probably think I’m insane, a vampire who desires peace,” Kyoko bitterly scoffed at herself.
“I certainly think you are an anomaly, Kyoko.” Celestia smiled. “But I also think you are the most interesting person I have ever met.”
“Oh, thank you.” Kyoko slightly blushed, feeling that confusing warmth once again as she took in Celestia’s compliment. She, however, quickly put back up her stoic mask and then asked, “What about you Celestia? You like vampires… so?”
“So? I don’t really care much for the whole war thing. I always thought it was stupid as the only difference between humans and vampires is that vampires are more attractive and competent.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure on the competent part.” Kyoko jested, causing both the girls to crack a smile with each other.
“Well anyways, I just see it as pointless. I don’t really care much though either way, life or death, peace or war, it’s all black and white. And black and white is such a boring way to live,” Celestia explained.
“That’s a pretty morbid way to live, not caring about the deaths of others and all.”
“I’m a girl who knows what I want. I don’t really need others.” Celestia shrugged. “Besides, I understand just how much humanity sucks, it can be very exclusive at times. I know from experience.”
“You do?”
“I am a trans lesbian Kyoko.”
“Oh, yeah, you probably do... I’m, uh, sorry. I’ll punch any of the humans for you if you want?” Kyoko offered.
“Do vampires have this superhuman strength that lets you knock one of the halfwits across the world or into the sun?” Celestia asked with eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. She was about as ecstatic as a puppy when their owner came home.
“No, we don’t, but I know three different types of martial arts.”
“Oh. Well, I guess that’ll work too.” Celestia pouted.
That’s when something extraordinary happened. It was something so rare, so beautiful, so marvelous that Celestia would not have bet on it ever happening in a million years.
Kyoko had giggled at Celestia, the jubilant sound rivaling the sweet greatness of heaven itself for Celestia. She couldn’t help but blush and stare in awe at Kyoko.
“Why are you laughing? Not that I mind, you have a beautiful laugh,” Celestia asked.
“My apologies,” Kyoko said as she collected herself a bit, albeit still giddy for her standards. “All of this is just so ridiculous that it’s humorous. I just still can’t believe that by coincidence you, some sort of vampire fanatic, out of all people, figured out I was one myself all because you just wanted to greet me. I’ve hidden this secret for years against some of the smartest humans I’ve ever met, and you just show up here and things suddenly don’t go as planned.”
Celestia bit her lip, remembering the lie she told earlier. Oh crap...
“Well actually Kyoko, the whole thing about me wanting to simply greet you was a lie,” Celestia confessed.
Kyoko’s small, beautiful smile fell after hearing that. “What?”
“Surprise surprise.”
“Celestia. That’s not funny.”
“I’m being serious.”
Kyoko looked at Celestia as she was trying to figure out what to exactly say next. Her eyebrows furrowed again and her mouth was softly clenched.
“Why did you lie?” She finally asked, not knowing exactly what to think after she let her guard down for so long.
Celestia sighed. “The timing was simply bad, it was also just fun to tease you a bit, but it was mainly the timing.”
“What does the timing have to do with anything?”
“You had me pinned against the wall and you were threatening my life because I discovered your darkest secret, that didn’t seem like a good time to ask if you wanted to go on a date with me. Even a moron could figure that out,” Celestia explained, rolling her eyes a bit at the end. Like come on, it’s not that hard to understand.
“You were going to ask me out before you knew I was a vampire?” Kyoko asked out loud in perplexion. “Why would you ever do that?”
“Well, to simply put it, it doesn’t matter to me if you are a vampire or not, Kyoko. I still think you’re very interesting and very beautiful either way.” Celestia paused to flash Kyoko a genuine, kind smile, something she didn’t show many. “You’ve always had this sense of mystery to you that I adored, yet you still had quite the personality. You’re sassy, intelligent, and about as done with everyone else’s bullshit as I am. One way or another, I couldn’t help but feel drawn to your presence like a moth is with a flame. You are just effortlessly alluring in so many ways, Kyoko.”
Kyoko was beautiful, Celestia couldn’t help but think that, especially after seeing her blush from Celestia’s confession. She might have been a vampire, but she held the beauty and grace of life that Celestia oh so adored. Kyoko was magnificent.
And the beauty of this moment was the fact that Celestia was able to finally convey that to Kyoko. After all the stressful bickering and snarky quips, Kyoko and her were both calm and yet vulnerable enough to truly look at each other. Not as just a vampire and a human, nor as just classmates, but as Celestia and Kyoko. They were possibly the only two girls in their world who would ever face an interaction such as this. They were a pacifistic vampire and a quasi-apathetic, gothic fangirl of a human. Two outcasts in the world, it might have well been accepted that they were the only two like this, contrasting their races and living a lie to find some sense of ironic peace amidst this vulgar world they were placed in.
They were the exact opposites of each other, and ironically enough that’s what connected them and made them possibly the only ones to truly understand each other.
And after all the back-and-forth arguing in between Celestia’s flirty jokes and Kyoko’s sarcastic remarks, a warm and blissful feeling was able to resonate within them. While Celestia was already well aware of this feeling inside of her, the acknowledgement and acceptance of it for Kyoko had only just struck her. Confusion dissipated as she now understood the fuzzy feeling bursting inside her all this time. It was something beyond words, beyond thoughts, it was simply a beautiful desire that they both now reciprocated, but could never voice to the world.
But fuck the world and fuck the war, none of that would change how either of them felt. All Kyoko had to know now was the burning question in her mind, did she make Celestia change her mind?
“What… What about now?” Kyoko managed to ask, her voice soft as her gaze locked onto Celestia, craving an answer.
“What about it?” Celestia questioned in response with her lips quirking up into a small smile at the sight of a bashful Kyoko.
“I guess it’s rather foolish of me to ask, seeing how I slammed you against the wall and threatened you for your life, but still,” Kyoko frowned, yet never broke eye contact with Celestia. Her eyes were as sad as a kicked puppy. “Does any of that change now that you know the truth?”
“That’s all water under the bridge, dear.” Celestia casually waved her hand in a gesture to shoo the idea from Kyoko’s mind. “Don’t worry, I get it. Your hands were basically tied when I discovered your secret, you had to make sure I wouldn’t tell because your life depends on it. I don’t blame you for anything Kyoko.”
“Still, I want you to at least know that I am sorry. I overreacted.”
“Seriously dear, it’s okay. Besides, most vampires would’ve killed me there on the spot, so I am rather lucky I was with you.”
“I guess that is true.” Kyoko rubbed her shoulder awkwardly. “So, you really don’t care then?”
“Not in the slightest. If anything, I would say you being a vampire adds to the list of the many, many reasons as to why I wanna date you.” Celestia winked, causing Kyoko to bite back a small smile that Celestia saw anyways. God does Celestia love that smile.
“You know, out of all the humans I ever met, you would be the last person I would ever expect to keep my secret, but you are probably at the same time the first and only human to just accept it.”
“It’s the other humans' loss if they don’t accept you. I don’t really see much of a difference between us anyways.”
Celestia walked up to Kyoko out of nowhere and cupped her face, steadying one of her thumbs near Kyoko’s lips. Celestia grinned as she watched Kyoko’s face light up in a soft yet welcoming shock.
“Celestia?” Kyoko quietly said, her voice was now breathless as she more so breathed out Celestia’s name. The way Kyoko said it, how Celestia’s name seemed to just roll off her tongue, it all made Celestia melt.
“So you drink blood for a living, it’s not a big deal. I have seen quite a few imbeciles eat candy wrappers and dirt. Humans aren’t ones to judge, dear. After all,” Celestia paused, gently using her hand to open Kyoko’s mouth and wipe up the last bits of blood stained on her fangs. Celestia shivered a bit at the rough touch of Kyoko’s fangs against her own flesh. “Humans could easily consume blood just as you vampires do.”
Celestia then pulled back her thumb again to show Kyoko the crimson fluid stained on her flesh. Then Celestia brought her thumb up to her lips, and without breaking eye contact with Kyoko, she slowly licked it off her thumb as she imagined a vampire would.
Kyoko deeply inhaled upon this action, deeply captivated by the sight in a slightly morbid excitement. She watched closely at Celestia’s short yet slow movements against her own crimson stained flesh. It riled something forbidden inside of Kyoko as she continued to stare at Celestia in a flustered awe.
Then Celestia gagged, snapping Kyoko out of her trance and causing her to give Celestia a worried look.
“Are you okay?” Kyoko asked as she instinctively began to rub Celestia’s shoulders.
“Yes, I-I’m okay, it’s just,” Celestia gagged again, shuddering in disgust. Her composure loss as her ‘accent’ broke for a minute. “For fuck sake, what was that blood? How do you do that all the time? Am I going to get a disease now from doing that? What was I thinking!”
Kyoko couldn’t help but chuckle at Celestia’s broken sangfroid. “Don’t worry, it’s only pig's liver.”
The sheer amount of repulse and shock on Celestia’s face was very comical as she gawked at Kyoko for a few seconds. Then, Celestia dramatically let out an elongated groan.
“I now crave the sweet embrace of death. Please, someone take me out of my misery. Hell is a better alternative to this bloody fate,” Celestia grumbled.
“What’s wrong, I thought humans could consume blood just like any vampire could,” Kyoko teased.
“I’m just not used to the taste yet, that is all.” Celestia huffed, crossing her arms.
“Well, you can always try it again.” Kyoko gestured towards her lunch that had been tossed away sometime between all the chaos.
Celestia looked at Kyoko in an embarrassed annoyance. However, after a quick glance at Kyoko’s fangs, Celestia found herself confidently grinning.
“You know what? I’ll call your bluff.” Celestia quickly slithered her arms to rest around Kyoko’s neck, one hand entangling in the soft lavender locks that Celestia dreamed of touching for so long. “Better yet, I’ll raise.”
Before Kyoko could properly say anything back, Celestia leaned forward and softly kissed Kyoko.
It was a risky move, to say the least. Kyoko still hadn’t conveyed how she felt about Celestia. Hell, they still hadn’t properly finished their talk about what they were going to do moving forward about Celestia knowing Kyoko’s secret. For all Celestia knew, Kyoko could easily push her off and storm out of here, or something even more drastic, like bite her in shock.
Celestia couldn’t care less. The second she felt Kyoko’s soft, plump lips was the moment she ascended from heaven like a fallen angel. Celestia’s mind went numb as every part of her body began to frivolously burn. It was spellbinding. And just when things didn’t seem like they could get any better, Kyoko wrapped her arms around Celestia’s waist, pulled her in close and returned the kiss.
The two of them were in heaven as they pressed against each other, deepening the kiss. Celestia licked Kyoko’s bottom lip anxiously before Kyoko slightly opened her mouth. Celestia instantly slid her tongue in, eagerly exploring for what she so desperately wanted to touch again. A soft poke against her tongue signaled she had found it: Kyoko’s fangs. Celestia almost collapsed right then and there from just her own excitement. She loved the feeling of the rough sharpness of Kyoko’s fangs, so entranced by it that she didn’t care about the tangy metallic taste that tingled against her tongue.
After a few seconds, Celestia reluctantly broke the kiss, remembering how humans needed this bothersome little thing called air to live. She panted for a few seconds, gasping in as much as she could after such a heart pounding moment. She then looked at Kyoko and nearly died from how cute Kyoko looked with a bright red, massive blush coloring her face.
Adorable. She was absolutely adorable.
“I didn’t mind,” Celestia said, breaking the silence.
“What?” Kyoko asked, staring at her in perplexion.
“The taste,” Celestia clarified. “I didn’t mind it that time. So now you can’t say humans can’t handle blood.”
Kyoko blinked a few times before biting her lip to stifle another chuckle.
“You must really hate losing,” Kyoko said.
“More than you could ever imagine.” Celestia playfully rolled her eyes.
The two exchanged smiles, peace hanging over the two in a calm serenity, even if it were only for mere seconds. Then a burning question popped into the back of Celestia’s mind. It was one she was hesitant to ask about, but could not ignore.
“So Kyoko, what are we going to be?” Celestia finally asked.
“What do you mean by that?” Kyoko stared at her blankly.
“Well, I still like you, and I would happily be your girlfriend—“
“You would? I thought you would at least lose interest after I threatened you.”
“Darling, we just made out,” Celestia said in a monotone voice as she stared at Kyoko in a judging expectation.
“I know, but— still. What if that made you change your mind?” Kyoko asked, wearing a small pout that communicated all her worries to Celestia.
God is she lucky she is adorable… and a stupidly good kisser.
Celestia sighed. “Fine, fine. Putting that aside dear, I already said I don’t care about that, didn’t I? Besides, that just makes you more of my type.”
“You have a type other than vampire girls?” Kyoko asked.
“Yes, a woman who could kill me in two seconds flat. That’s my type,” Celestia said dead serious with no hesitation whatsoever. In turn, Kyoko gave her an amused stare. “What? I am a lesbian after all.”
“Well, I guess I’m relieved your view of me hasn’t changed negatively,” Kyoko admitted, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Hey Kyoko, what about you? What are you wanting to do after all of this?” Celestia asked.
Kyoko froze on the spot after hearing Celestia’s question, it was clearly evident that she had not been expecting it. Anxiously, Kyoko bit her bottom lip as she carefully thought of what she wanted to say. The silent wait drove Celestia mad.
Before Celestia had a chance to ask again, however, a long clanging and ringing reverberated throughout the hall. The school bell had just announced the end of the lunch period.
“Lunch is over already?” Celestia asked in shock after cursing out the bell multiple times from under her breath.
“It seems so,” Kyoko commented as she began to wipe her mouth of any remaining blood from earlier. “We should probably get going if we want to make it back to class on time.”
“Can’t we just skip?”
“You can, but I’m not missing chemistry. I’m going to need that class later down the line when I get my degree in forensic science.”
“Ooh, going into the criminal field?”
“Yes?”
“So that means you’ll be a vampire who knows her way around a pair of handcuffs.”
“....I’m going back to class now.” Kyoko let out an exasperated sigh before turning around and walking towards the exit of the hall.
“Wait, you still haven’t answered my question yet!” Celestia exclaimed at Kyoko. “What are we?”
Kyoko stopped in her place after hearing that. The lack of action made Celestia’s heart race as she anxiously awaited an answer from Kyoko. Celestia could feel the wondrous nerves well up in her stomach as they felt heavier than a rock.
Surely she’ll say yes. Kyoko wouldn’t turn her down, right?
“Don’t worry, I do plan on answering your question Celestia.” Kyoko turned back around to flash Celestia a small, cocky grin. “After class, that is.”
What a fucking tease. Celestia thinks she might just be in love.
“Oh, bite me you bitch,” Celestia shot at her with a challenging smile.
“In your dreams Celestia,” Kyoko said.
“You know it will.”
Kyoko rolled her eyes before holding her hand out to Celestia, who then happily intertwined their fingers. The two then walked back to class together.
Never would Celestia have guessed that both her dreams of being with Kyoko and meeting a vampire would come true. So maybe things didn’t go exactly as Celestia had planned. It didn’t matter though, her gamble worked nonetheless and she was now walking hand-in-hand down the halls with Kyoko. And you know what, she’s willing to take another bet that in a few hours, Kyoko will become the girlfriend of her dreams.
A human and a vampire, not the weirdest pairing to ever be heard of, but it is certainly still forbidden. Maybe it was a risk being with a vampire, people would call Celestia a foolish and whorish traitor if they saw her now. It could even go as far as to get her executed. Maybe she’ll be beheaded or burned on a stake? The executioners would love to make a statement out of ‘traitors’ like her. Yes. Truly, being with Kyoko was a risk. But Celestia didn’t care, she loved risks, almost as much as she loved Kyoko.
Celestia knows their relationship will be well worth the risk, just wait and see.
