Work Text:
Smart people are such a pain in the ass.
This is what Jungkook is thinking when the bullet he outruns does an abrupt swerve and follows after him. Bullets aren't supposed to curve. Bullets aren't supposed to chase after you like a dog. He might not know anything about guns, but he knows at least this much.
Suga's wearing a smug little smile on his face now, though, and Jungkook just knows this weird new tech bullet is the reason why he's got those bags under his eyes. And damn if it doesn't work, one bullet making Jungkook veer fast to the right, while a second bullet comes out of nowhere to lodge itself deep inside his thigh. Jungkook feels particularly stupid as he careens face first towards the floor, especially as Suga's laughing fills his ears.
"As much as I'd like to savour this moment, unfortunately I've got some blueprints to steal." Those are the words Suga leaves him with, before he snatches the rolled up bits of paper Jungkook's been trying to protect the whole night and jumps out the window.
Jungkook rolls over onto his back and groans, already dreading whatever contraption Suga's going to be making next with those blueprints. He's thinking so hard about what Suga's got planned next that he actually forgets there's a bullet still stuck in his leg, but then he tries to stand up, and holy shit that hurts what the fuck—
Needless to say, running fast starts to become a problem when his leg feels like it's about to fall off.
He thinks briefly about calling someone to come get him, or even an ambulance, but Jungkook's always been the type to tend to his own wounds, so he just props himself up against the wall and hopes for the best instead. He's got accelerated healing anyway, so everything will fix itself soon, and then he can just speed out of here and go home to shower and then maybe sleep for at least ten hours straight.
Five minutes pass.
The wound is refusing to close up.
Jungkook realises belatedly that it's probably because the bullet is still in there, jammed into his leg. The smart thing to do at this point is to admit defeat and call someone, but he's allergic to smart, he despises smart, didn't he just admit this a while ago? So, rather than pick up his phone, he instead reaches for the wound and digs his fingers into it in an attempt to pull the bullet out himself.
Hindsight is 20/20. Hindsight is horrible, blinding pain. Hindsight is saying: Jungkook you god damn idiot, why did you do that?
In the end Jungkook makes the call anyway, and in no time he's being pulled into an ambulance and carted off to the nearest hospital.
He frowns the entire ride there. Jungkook very much does not do hospitals, everyone who knows him knows that. The perks of having a body that had accelerated healing is that all he usually needs is a nap and by the time he wakes up everything is fine and dandy again. Being self reliant is just better. Easier. Cooler. There is nothing sexy about sitting in a waiting room for thirty minutes and then hoping that whoever's on call might be able to patch him up without giving him like a super ugly scar or something.
Even before he's being wheeled past the entrance and the giant 'Super City General Hospital' sign, he's already got the don't fuck with me expression on his face.
That is, at least, until the paramedics leave the room and the doctor walks in.
The moment the doctor looks at him and smiles, Jungkook feels all the fight leave his body.
His mother always used to say that him being born a speedster made him fall for people ten times as fast. Jungkook's always denied it, but right now, as his heart rate picks up and his palms start to get all sweaty, Jungkook thinks she might have been right the whole time. Because this doctor, this unbelievably hot doctor, is the man of his dreams, he knows it. Crazy hot doctor's got these bright eyes and this infectious smile and his mouth looks perfectly kissable and Jungkook thinks he might actually have to send Suga a fruit basket for shooting him in the leg.
"JK, right?" The doctor asks, still smiling.
He knows who I am, Jungkook thinks, right before it registers that wow, even his voice is perfect. "Oh, yes! That's me!" He says, a little too loudly, after he realises the doctor's waiting for a response.
"Ah, that'll make this quite easy then. I'm Dr. Jung," Dr. Dreamy, Jungkook's mind supplies instead, "and you can relax, okay? Since you have accelerated healing, all I'll be doing is removing the bullet from your leg. Your body should handle the rest."
Jungkook nods, not quite trusting himself not to say anything stupid.
Dr. Jung goes on to say some more things, mentioning how this isn't technically surgery so he likely can't administer any anaesthetic for Jungkook. The fact that he's going to feel even more pain worries him, but Dr. Jung's got a small, concerned little frown on his face and Jungkook thinks simultaneously that it looks cute and that he looks better with a smile on his face, so he says, "I'm strong, I can take it," instead.
That actually manages to get Dr. Jung to laugh, and he swears he can feel a million butterflies burst free in his stomach at the sound.
Unfortunately, all those butterflies die screaming a minute later, when Dr. Jung takes a pair of tweezers to Jungkook's bullet wound. He doesn't take very long, and pretty much immediately locates the bullet and pulls it out, but man does the process hurt. Jungkook has to squeeze his eyes shut and grip the bed he's sitting on very tightly just so he doesn't start screaming. Screaming in front of Dr. Jung wouldn't make him seem very cool at all, and first impressions are important, he knows this.
Thankfully, after the bullet's gone his body can finally start doing its quick healing thing, and by the time the pain is fading away and Jungkook feels like he can open his eyes again, his wound is looking less fresh by the second. Dr. Jung still wraps bandages around it, just incase, as Jungkook tries not to blush at the fact that— oh my god— Dr. Jung is touching his thigh.
Afterwards, completely unaware of Jungkook's inner turmoil, Dr. Jung pulls back with a beam. "There, all done!"
"Thank you, Dr. Jung," is all Jungkook ends up saying, even though he wants desperately to ask something stupid like what's your first name? Or, are you free on the weekend?
"Quiet and polite? You might be one of my favourite patients yet," Dr. Jung grins, teasing, and all Jungkook can think is, unfair.
He doesn't manage to get a word out about a possible date, not even as Dr. Jung walks him past the reception and out the front doors. That doesn't seem normal, a doctor personally walking a patient out, but Jungkook doesn't want to assume things, and doesn't want to make things awkward, either. So he just wishes Dr. Jung a goodnight, and as he runs home, thinks about maybe letting Suga shoot him twice next time.

It's Jimin's first day in Super City General Hospital and he already hates it here.
There's nothing wrong with his co-workers, and it's not like the experience is all that different from any other non supers oriented hospital, but Jimin just really, really cannot stand that he's not the most popular staff member here. He's gotten used to being doted on, on receiving round the clock compliments about his prettiness or cuteness or ass, so when he walks in and everyone's essentially unfazed, it's a shock.
All day he's been hearing Dr. Jung this and Dr. Jung that. Jimin's itching to see this Dr. Jung in the flesh, if only to prove that there can only be one heartthrob in this hospital, and Jimin's determined to be it.
He doesn't manage to catch even a glimpse of Dr. Jung the entire day, so on his second, he walks into work in those tight jeans that he knows makes his leg and ass looks irresistible. This time, it seems to finally have an effect, and as he makes his way to the backroom to change, he's pretty sure he can feel at least two pairs of eyes watching him walk away.
When he opens the door to the changing room, he finds there's already someone else in there. This someone else just happens to have his shirt off, and Jimin cannot help but freeze there at the door, taking his time to drag his eyes all over the exposed skin before him.
Hot stranger has a nice chest, Jimin can't help but think. His build isn't the typical muscle guy type, he's not big enough for it, but there's still muscle there, he can tell, and the faint outline of a six pack. His arms flex a little as he reaches for his shirt and Jimin's mouth goes dry. Not a gym rat, by the looks of him, but there's enough there to his biceps that it kind of makes Jimin want to go over there and just lick him all over.
He's still marvelling at the sudden introduction of a hot co-worker when said hot co-worker turns and faces him.
The effect is devastating. Jimin's mouth drops open fully. Hot co-worker gets upgraded to gorgeous co-worker in a second flat.
It's the eyes. No, wait, the nose. Hold on, no, it's definitely definitely the mouth. Lips. That small mole there. Jesus.
"Oh," gorgeous guy says, eyes widening slightly, "you must be the new nurse everyone's been talking about!" Suddenly gorgeous guy is smiling, and Jimin can't help but think, hello, Apollo.
He takes a moment to blink away the stars in his eyes, before attempting a pretty smile of his own. "Hi, yes, that's me. Park Jimin."
Sir Gorgeous flashes another heart stopping smile and then finally pulls his shirt on over his head. "Jung Hoseok," he says, offering a hand out.
Jimin shakes his hand, pretends that he isn't fixating on the way Hoseok's skin feels against his, and then steps properly into the room so that he can start getting changed too, and if he gets a little showy and sticks his ass out a little more than is appropriate as he peels his jeans off, well...
He's pretty sure he can feel Hoseok's eyes travelling up and down his body like Jimin had done with him earlier, but after he's got his scrubs on and he turns back around, Hoseok's face is a perfect mask of politeness. He's got a doctor's coat on as well now, and Jimin finally makes the connection when his eyes dart down to the 'Dr. Jung' label hanging off his jacket pocket.
Well. Well. The universe sure loves to play its jokes, doesn't it?
For a moment Jimin juggles two possibilities. One, he shuts this whole thing down, because Jimin is still determined to be the resident heartthrob and he can't be thirsting after the competition. Two, he acknowledges that this is a losing race and rather than be the heartthrob he could instead just kiss the heartthrob.
There's not even really a choice to make here, because Hoseok claps a hand on his shoulder, says a cheerful little, "Welcome to the team!" and then walks out of the room, taking Jimin's heart along with him.
Jimin's eyes are glued onto Hoseok's ass all the way until the door shuts with an ominous click of finality. That's it, then. Jimin's dream of being the hot one, the cute one, the secretly sexy one, has been turned to dust with one sunny smile from Jung Hoseok.
Oh well. What's done is done. Jimin's more than capable of simply rolling with the punches.
And what was that old saying? If you can't beat them, do your damned best to seduce them?

Namjoon makes a terrible mistake.
Not his first big one, not by a long shot, and probably not his last either, but still a definite unmistakably bad mistake.
It starts like this: Yoongi finally finishes making that big laser gun he's been working on since January and sends it to Namjoon through the post. The post. Namjoon has to watch his mailwoman struggle to lug the giant box all the way up the steps to his front door, and could only think to say big books when she asks what's in it. There are obviously no books inside the box, but she doesn't question it, just blinks and then leaves and hops back into her mail van.
It ends like this: Namjoon forgets to account for the cat. He points the laser gun at the safe to blast a hole in the door and the cat doesn't understand that the laser would just instantly kill it if it got in the way because it's a cat and all it's thinking is ooh, shiny. When the cat, inevitably, jumps up to try and catch the laser, Namjoon tries to turn it off so the cat won't get hurt. Only, the trigger is jammed, because Namjoon is probably cursed, so the only thing he can do is point it somewhere else. He goes for the ceiling. It is a mistake.
The ceiling is not laser proof.
(Nothing is, that's the whole point of Yoongi building the laser gun in the first place.)
It comes crashing down on Namjoon.
The cat deftly hops out of the way, landing on the window sill and watching as bits of the ceiling cave in and fall directly onto Namjoon. Yoongi's laser gun breaks, and Namjoon has the forethought to feel guilty about it before the pain distracts him. He's bleeding, he realises, as he pulls his hand away from his head and notes the wetness and redness of his fingers. He knows this isn't something he or Yoongi will be able to fix on their own.
Somehow, he's still clear headed enough that he manages to squeeze his eyes shut, jump, and pop directly into Super City General Hospital's waiting room. Some of the people waiting jerk in surprise at his arrival, but none of the staff look even remotely fazed. They must get jumpers or teleporters pretty often, then.
Namjoon awkwardly gives out his name to the lady waiting behind the desk, and then uncomfortably slides into the nearest empty chair as he waits to be called. He's nervous and in pain so he can't relax, even as they play calming music over the speakers.
All he really knows about SCG is that on their website it says, 'Super City's only neutral hospital, welcome to all supers'. All supers is the important bit. Not just the superheroes, but the supervillains too.
Too good to be true, is the obvious conclusion to something like that. SCG's got a reputation for being legit, though. The government had officially declared it 'neutral grounds' a couple years after it first opened, saying that even if a villain were to find themselves as a patient, no police or hero would have the ability to arrest them while they were inside the hospital. Outside the hospital everything was fair game, but inside they would be treated just as any other patient.
Namjoon's always been too wary to trust that kind of thing.
Now he has no choice to.
The calming music comes to an abrupt halt, bringing him out of his thoughts momentarily, before the track loops to the beginning again. Blinking, he finally takes a good look around the room and catches some familiar costumes. Some heroes he's seen in action or on TV before, some villains he's met once or twice. It's genuinely alarming how they're all just... here, sitting in a quiet waiting room together, and none of them are even attempting to kill each other.
He remembers once asking Yoongi why he bothers going, if he's just going to be forced to play nice with heroes who have kicked his ass one too many times for them to be anything but enemies. Yoongi had sighed then and said something about how it was just easier to stomach being in the same room as a bunch of heroes than to have to attempt to find some way to fix potentially fatal injuries on his own. "They kick you out and ban you for life if you start something in there, and everyone knows that the doctors there are too efficient to risk a permanent ban, so everyone makes sure to keep to themselves," was what he said when Namjoon asked how do you know the heroes won't try to fight you anyway?
Namjoon still doesn't quite get it, is still puzzling over the whole thing even as his name gets called, as he shuffles his feet over into the room he was pointed to.
Then the doctor turns around, Namjoon gets a flash of nose, lips, teeth, sun, and then promptly passes out.
(In the depths of his unconsciousness he thinks of daisies and a hot summer day, which makes absolutely no sense to him because he hates the summer and flowers always make him sneeze.)
He wakes up dramatically, gasping for air like he's been underwater, limbs flailing about before he realises he's laying back on a bed. The ceiling he's now looking at is white. Actually, the entire room is white, and that's when he remembers he's in a hospital, that he fainted. In front of the criminally handsome doctor.
Cursed, he thinks again.
"Are you alright?" A soft voice asks.
Namjoon blinks a bit, and then attempts to sit up, "I'm fine," he manages to get out, even though he feels extremely exposed under the handsome doctor's gaze, "I felt fine when I was in the waiting room too, why did I suddenly...?"
"That was your shock finally wearing off," the doctor replies, smiling a little in relief now that Namjoon's assured him he's okay (he's not actually okay at all, but it has nothing to do with his head injury so he keeps it to himself). "Good news, though! While you were unconscious I managed to patch up your head injury. You were lucky that it wasn't more serious and your skull wasn't too badly impacted. As it is, all you'll need is a good week's worth of rest and then you'll be as good as new! Try not to hit your head until then, okay?"
Namjoon swallows, mouth suddenly dry. "Um, I'll try, but I uh... I'm kind of clumsy."
Dr. Bane-Of-His-Existence tilts his head to the side, seemingly trying to puzzle out Namjoon, before he seems to come up with something and grins, "Wear a hat! If you've got a beanie or something, even if you do manage to accidentally hit your head, I think it should protect your head well enough that the contact won't end up cracking your skull."
The bright, flashy grin catches him off guard for a second, before the cracking your skull bit registers. The moment he's home he's going to put a beanie on and never take it off.
"For now you're all good to go," the doctor announces, "but if you feel any residual pain even after a week, or if you really do manage to crack your skull open, don't hesitate to come back again. You can ask for Dr. Jung, I'll make sure to take care of you." Dr. Jung then, for some reason, winks.
Namjoon entertains the possibility of fainting again.

The way that super powers can fuck with a person's biology is really, really annoying sometimes.
Seokjin's changed biology works out quite well for him, mostly. It bothers the doctors, he knows, when they deal with something new and illogical and atypical, but Seokjin's quite satisfied with his lot in life. Sometimes he even jokes that he was simply born a pretty flower, and so of course must retain some plant like traits, and usually it gets someone cracking up enough that they feel less strange about the fact that Seokjin has to sit out in the sun and photosynthesise for about two hours everyday.
Lately though, it's been nonstop rainy days. Barely any sun at all, and Seokjin is, quite literally, dying.
When he calls his mother, miserably telling her that she'll be getting his house in his will, she just scoffs and says, "Go to the hospital, Jin, they've got UV lights there specifically for types like you."
"Types like me?"
"Idiots," she says, making him mock gasp. "You can't seriously think you're the first person to ever have been born with nature related powers, right?"
He considers that he might probably be a bit of an idiot, that his mother's never been wrong in her life, and manages to get himself to the hospital without dying as he does the sloppiest parking job ever.
The climb out of the car is the absolute worst too, worse than the time he was convinced to go hiking, but thankfully before he can collapse in the middle of the parking lot, someone rushes up to him and grips him by the shoulders.
"You are seriously pale. Can you tell me what's wrong? What you need?" His saviour asks.
Seokjin can barely find the energy to lift an arm, but he manages to choke out, "Plant genes... UV lights..."
Thankfully, the stranger gets it right away, and before Seokjin can properly comprehend what's happening, he's suddenly lifted off his feet and into someone's arms. He hooks his own around the stranger's neck automatically, vaguely registering that their jaw is like... really nice, and being held by them feels ridiculously good, as the stranger rushes them towards the hospital.
One thousand year long elevator ride and a few blurry white hallways later, Seokjin finally starts to feel like himself again.
The room he finds himself in looks just like any other ordinary hospital room, except there are two huge UV light panels on the ceiling next to the regular light fixture. There's a huge window next to the bed he's sitting on too, and he absentmindedly watches the rain and the grey sky for a few moments before he hears a knock on the door.
He says, "Come in," then has to physically resist the urge to gasp when Adonis walks into the room.
Adonis turns out to be Dr. Adonis, or Dr. Jung, actually, and he says a bunch of stuff that Seokjin isn't really paying attention to. His eyes are too busy tracing the line of jaw. He can remember it a little clearer now, how he almost died in the parking lot, how Dr. Adonis had picked him up and saved his life. He remembers too the feeling of being in his arms and wonders whether the good doctor will catch him if Seokjin jumps at him right now.
He doesn't do that, obviously, despite really really wanting to. He has enough sense to reign in his very obvious attraction to his doctor. For now.
Doesn't mean he's not going to go after what he wants now that he knows he wants it, though.
"Thank you for saving me, Dr. Jung," Seokjin says, smiling in that charming way he knows is capable of making even the strongest of knees weak, "once I've recovered enough to walk out of this room, how about I treat you to dinner?"
Dr. Jung's knees must be reinforced with steel, because he barely even falters, just parts his mouth slightly in surprise. Then laughs a bit. Then asks, "Is dessert included?"
Seokjin decides Dr. Jung's laugh is the best thing he's ever heard, then notes the slight flush in his cheeks despite the overall unaffected way he's acting, and amends that to Dr. Jung just being the best period.

Getting stabbed doesn't even rank that high on Yoongi's list of worst injuries sustained.
He still feels like absolute garbage when he wakes up though, having slept through the anaesthesia from the operation last night, feeling every bit of his soreness and pain. Knowing that it'll be there, he blindly reaches for the painkillers on the bedside table and downs the pills dry. It's probably a testament to how often this has happened that his throat doesn't even protest at the feeling of choking down two big ass pills without any water.
"Impressive," a frustratingly familiar voice comments.
Yoongi shut his eyes, groans, and when he opens them again, finds that Hoseok's standing at the foot of his bed.
This has been happening more often lately, Yoongi waking up in his hospital room after a bad fight to find Hoseok there and waiting for him. It's doing horrendous things to his heart, makes him question being a supervillain about fifty times a day, and he really, really does not need this right now.
"Morning," Yoongi mumbles.
Hoseok snorts, then walks over to hand Yoongi a glass of water. "It's midnight."
"Hm," he blinks a couple times and realises the blinding light is in fact not the sun and actually just the lights in the room, "so it is."
A moment of silence passes as Yoongi sips meekly at his water. Hoseok kind of looks like he wants to talk about how dangerous it is what Yoongi's doing again. He can still vividly remember the last time, when he'd gotten shot and almost died on the operating table. He didn't know this at the time, of course, but a couple days later when he woke up, Hoseok stood at the foot of his bed like earlier and said in the most horrible most heartbreaking tone ever that he was worried.
Yoongi's pretty sure he's already half in love with Hoseok and it's only been like a year since he's started showing up at the hospital. He thinks he probably could give up the whole villainy thing for Hoseok. Probably. Maybe. But him and Namjoon are kind of a package deal, and he doesn't just want to abandon Namjoon to do vaguely evil things on his own.
(Not that Namjoon's actually doing anything all that terrible. He just loves to steal old books and relics from wrinkly old rich people who don't even understand the importance of them beyond how shiny it is or how many nerds like Namjoon have died trying to search for it.)
It's not like Yoongi enjoying stealing from the rich and fucking them over in every conceivable way possible means he's willing to die for it. He just likes pissing people off sometimes, and sometimes he likes using his powers to build things and test how well they'll work against things like security systems and safes and a certain superhero's superpowers. It's just fun, really.
But he has other things he enjoys too, other hobbies. Really, he can give up this part of his life if he wants. And Hoseok's been asking, a lot lately, and Yoongi's been thinking, yes. But Namjoon.
"Have you talked to your roommate about it?" Hoseok asks, as if he knows exactly what Yoongi's thinking about.
Yoongi sighs. "Not yet." He has no idea how to even broach the subject with Namjoon. As far as he's aware, everything's fine and going great as usual. Yoongi bringing this up out of nowhere will probably just startle him, maybe even upset him, and that's the last thing Yoongi wants.
Hoseok sighs too, but when Yoongi shifts in his bed a little awkwardly, he shifts his expression from something mildly disapproving to something warmer. He's smiling now, and Yoongi has seen every smile Hoseok has in his arsenal, but this one, this small, soft, accepting one? It always fucks him up the most, makes him consider giving absolutely everything up for Hoseok.
I'll wait, Hoseok's smile seems to say.
Yoongi knows it's just a matter of time.

Sometimes people will call Taehyung a sidekick, or a minion, but really he just likes to think of himself as an assistant.
People need help, and Taehyung is happy to provide. It doesn't matter to him whether he's helping a hero or helping a villain, so long as they're not making him do something he doesn't want to do. His power comes in handy to different people at different times, for different things. So he just bounces around to whoever needs him.
When Hoseok catches him trying to smuggle out a bunch of blood bags in his arms, Taehyung has to explain that his current boss slash employer slash friend is someone who needs to drink human blood to survive, but they were too scared to steal the blood from the hospital themselves.
"Like a vampire?" Hoseok asks, eyebrows raised in disbelief.
It wouldn't be the strangest way a power has manifested, they both know that, but Taehyung supposes it's still pretty surprising. "Yeah," he replies, shrugging, "they can't go out in the sun or else they burn, and they've gotta drink blood or else they get all gross and dusty and then die. They can't drink from people directly anymore though because their new girlfriend doesn't like it, so I offered to steal some blood for them."
Hoseok blinks. "You know I can't let you leave with those, right?"
Taehyung pouts. "Please, hyung?"
There's genuine conflict on Hoseok's face, but then he puts on that stern face and Taehyung knows it's a lost cause. He frowns and hands the blood bags back, but before Taehyung leaves, Hoseok takes his hand and drags him into a smaller room.
His heart goes thump! thump! thump! as he wonders whether or not this is finally his moment with Hoseok, but then the lights are being flicked on and Hoseok shoves some kind of bag into his hands instead of kissing him. Then, to Taehyung's further confusion, Hoseok pulls out a needle.
It's at this point that Taehyung notices there's a chair behind them, and that there's some posters about blood donation littered around the walls of the room they're in.
"I can't let you steal from the hospital," Hoseok says, smiling a little lopsidedly at him, "but you can have some of mine. That'll be alright with your vampire friend, right?"
Taehyung swallows the urge to say you're amazing I love you and simply nods.
There's a whole process to removing blood and connecting it to the empty blood bag Hoseok had handed Taehyung, but he does his best to follow along with Hoseok's instructions until he has everything set up properly. And then the blood is just... leaking out of Hoseok's arm and into the bag. It's at this point that Taehyung finally starts to feel a bit bad, but when his eyebrows furrow Hoseok just laughs and pokes a finger between his brows, telling him that it's fine.
It's probably not fine, and he's aware that this is probably something a regular person wouldn't even consider doing, let alone for a vampire that they don't even know, but Hoseok's just good like that. Taehyung's aware Hoseok is not doing this because he's simply worried for a random vampire, he's doing this because it's Taehyung, because Taehyung is involved, and Taehyung needs blood for his vampire friend, so Hoseok will provide the blood for his vampire friend.
His heart has got Hoseok's name printed on it, he knows it.
He's not entirely sure Hoseok's heart has Taehyung's name on it, though. He knows Hoseok has this thing with Suga (who's shared on the villain forums that he's thinking of retiring), that he's been on a couple dates with Jin (the hero who can grow flowers and is as pretty as one too), flirts shamelessly with Jimin (who Taehyung actually lives with now), and texts RM (a villain Taehyung has only worked with one time because he needed him to ask a dolphin if it knew the way to Atlantis) any time he has a free second to spare. He's also pretty sure that JK (a hero that Taehyung hasn't met yet) once accidentally confessed on national television that he's crushing on Hoseok and waiting for the right time to ask him out.
Taehyung's not really sure where he fits in in the midst of all that.
"Okay, all done!" Hoseok cheers, making quick work of pulling out the thin tube sticking out of his arm before pressing a small wet wipe onto the insertion wound that's still bleeding a bit and then closing off the blood bag.
Before he can second guess his thoughts, Taehyung presses a quick kiss to Hoseok's cheek. "Thanks, hyung."
When Taehyung pulls away, he catches the brief starstruck expression on Hoseok's face, but it's gone almost as soon as he spots it. Not quick enough though, Taehyung saw just enough to figure out exactly where his place is in Hoseok's heart.
"You're welcome, Tae," Hoseok sounds soft, looks soft, is the loveliest man Taehyung has ever laid eyes on, "but next time before you try to steal anything from here, just talk to me, okay? You know I'll help you any way I can."
"I know," Taehyung whispers, smiling so wide his cheeks ache with the strain of it.
This is what he knows: Hoseok's name has been etched permanently onto Taehyung's heart, Taehyung's name is similarly branded on Hoseok's. They've both got space for six more.
