there's just something with the way he looks at you when he's mad. the arch on his eyebrows, the twitch on the side of his eye, and that obvious glare he gives you leave an impression in your heart– not in a good way
you don't know how it started. maybe he had a bad day? maybe you had a bad day? or maybe you two didn't really have a good time today that led to this
all you wanted was to give him affection. he would never deny that from you of course because he loves you. but for you to do it in public hit a nerve on him, especially after you were so persistent on it
you didn't realize it before it was too late. you annoyed him and now he's mad. he doesn't make it that obvious, but you can see it by the way that he doesn't turn his head towards you when talking to you; the way he doesn't slow down his pace in walking to match with you; and you could definitely notice it by how he doesn't give you a straight answer, just leaving it up to you to decide where you'll eat for dinner. you were craving his affection after having such a rough day. and no, things were not against you. people weren't annoying and you didn't have any particularly bad experiences today. it's just that you're feeling so unwell. you're not sick, but you think it's one of those days that your mood pummels down all of a sudden and it would take time for it to come back up. you just thought that going out on a late date with your boyfriend would make it a bit better
unfortunately it didn't
regrettably, you even affected your boyfriend's mood. and now you just want to go home and cry it out because you can't deal with this. not today
you definitely can't because your eyes are now brimming with tears as you speed walk trying to catch up with wakasa. you ended up deciding to go eat at your usual place so now you're on the way there. but with how you're feeling like you'll drop any minute and with how he's ignoring you… you really just want to go home.
"waka" you croaked out. you failed to realize that your throat tightened up with how you're trying to stop yourself from crying in public since right now, your priority is getting back into the comfort of your own room
wakasa slows his pace before coming to a stop, looking back at you in questions. his eyes were piercing in annoyance and u can't help but brokenhearted regret for what your actions brought you
"i'm actually not feeling good, i think i'll just go home today" you avoid his eyes by bowing in apology, "sorry for having you go out with me today all of a sudden"
wakasa really was annoyed with how you kept on trying to hold his hand. it's summer, it's fucking hot. even when the sun's going down the weather's still damn hot that it makes him feel so uncomfortable having any kind of body contact. he's just wearing a simple tee and pants but it still feels so hot he's sweating
he hadn't realized he acted so mean to you until he saw your avoiding eyes on the verge of tears. he hadn't realized that he was in such a sour mood when you called him up to eat out for dinner. and he really is such an idiot for not realizing that you wouldn't just call to meet with him and become so clingy out of the blue
and now he runs his eyes on you as you stand back straight after bowing, squeaking a quick 'talk to you later', not waiting for him to reply at all, and turning to go back
he calls for you immediately, stopping you from your escape. you glance back at him with downcast eyes and he sighs, stepping closer to you, mulling over his thoughts
"this isn't right. don't just run away without talking about what's troubling you" he says, and you're about to retort in hurt disbelief, tell him that u don't want to talk about it right now when you're both feeling out of it, but he continues "but i get it's my fault that you tried to run away just now" he rubs the back of his neck, and now it was his turn to avoid your eyes. "sorry" he says in such a soft, his eyes darts from the side before going back to your eyes and he means it
he doesn't want you going home with a heavy heart. not when he's right there. he should have considered your feelings. you should have considered his mood. he should have asked what brought you to this sudden date out. you should have told him that you wanted his affection
both of you could have done better. and with how things are right now, you can make it better
"w-would it be alright for us to eat at your place tonight?" you mutter, gently taking his hand with yours as you try to look at him in the eyes. scared that he might reject but hopeful that he'd agree
"take out?" he smiles, hand tightening on yours as he pulls you close, his other hand going to the back of your neck as he leans down to give you a quick kiss on your forehead 'forgive me'
"pizza please" you smile back. your heart is still feeling heavy, but somehow it became lighter
wakasa's still cursing at the damn weather, muttering under his breathe how it's making his blood boil but hearing u lightly giggle from hearing him makes it a lot better
you start to tell him how you woke up drenched in your sweat and he looks at you as you try your best to describe how your day went, observing how the corners of your lips would quiver when you mentioned feeling worse as you attempted to smile at work
opening up isn't an easy task even if it's with someone you care the most about. It's just really difficult to let it out when you can't understand the emotions running through your heart. sometimes you just want to let it be and drown in your own thoughts. but other times, you'd want to be with someone just to feel their presence. and it won't always go according to plan like what happened today. but with how he noticed at the last minute your behavior, he pushed aside his own irritation. truly you're lucky to have him. you don't deserve him. he's not the easiest person to be with, but he's the most patient and understanding person you've ever met
