“We were full of dreams and hope that we’d marry our first cousins and breed little inbred pureblood children.” Theo said, he stood before the group in Neville and Pansy ’s backyard garden.
“Remind me why I agreed to Theo performing the naming ceremony for our child?” Pansy asked under her breath to Neville.
She was beginning to understand why Draco had laughed when she said Theo was going to share the name of their child with their friends.
“Because he begged for the honour and you enjoyed how pitiful he looked.” Neville replied, he wondered why Theo was holding their son Ollie like he was reenacting Lion King. When Rafiki did cub Simba when he was being presented to the kingdom in Lion King.
“It was clearly a manipulation.” Pansy said, she wondered why it would be so hard for Theo to hold her child like a normal person.
“But then the ministry mandated that we step outside of our families for love to secure the future of the wizarding community. It’s because of this mandate, we are here today celebrating the naming of Pansy and Neville’s beautiful ¾ pureblood child.” Theo told them all, he raised Ollie a little higher in the air.
“¾ pureblood.” Hermione remarked dryly, she didn’t see how it was relevant anymore.
“How is he ¾ pureblood?” Harry asked in a low voice, confused.
“Pansy is half blood, her mum fucked a muggle to get back her father for his indiscretions.” Blaise replied in a bored manner.
“Halfblood?” Harry said, utterly surprised.
“It was one of the best kept secrets in Slytherin.” Malfoy said with a shrug.
“You’re a halfblood?” Harry asked Pansy, she rolled her eyes as this was not the time or place for a conversation but it did distract from Theo’s speech.
“What do you think? The ministry let me stay with Neville out of the kindness of their hearts.” Pansy asked Harry in a low voice. Before he could answer Theo spoke.
“Are you all quite done?” Theo asked, interrupting their conversation.
“I don’t know, how long are you going to wax poetic about how inbred we all are?” Draco asked him.
“If you were paying attention. You would know I was about to name the child, the reason we are all here.” Theo reminded them, they were all thinking he had forgotten that fact.
It was just a blessing the baby was not crying but he was getting restless.
“Please do so, with haste before the baby will need a change” Draco said, Theo frowned and he turned the baby around and took in his tiny frustrated expression and the tiny little grunts he was making.
His tiny little legs were working a storm, like a ticking poop bomb.
Pansy had instituted a house rule. Whoever held the baby when it needed a nappy change, was the one who got the honour to change it.
“Oh, yeah, I know that face well.” Theo agreed, he cleared his throat and finally got to the name reveal part. The sole reason for them all being there besides the feast that awaited them inside.
