Work Text:
Stephen and Wanda stepped through the portal into the New York Sanctum from Kamar-Taj after a relatively simple mission of dealing with an interdimensional creature who had made its way into their reality (the situation was easily taken care of). Wong had volunteered to babysit the now three year old Billy and Tommy.
Wong was there to greet them. The distant laughter and incoherent babbling made Wanda grin.
“How were the boys?” inquired Stephen.
“For the most part well behaved. The little rascals tried to steal chocolate from the fridge when they thought I was not looking,” a slight smile appeared on Wong’s face (He is quite fond of the twins, his heart melts when they call him ‘Uncle Wong’ and though he would not admit it out loud, he loves to babysit them). “Thankfully, there were no tantrums so no accidental magic.”
The three heaved a sigh. The increasing frequency of toddler tantrums had resulted in bouts of accidental magic and the mirror dimension had to be unleashed quite a number of times.
Wanda thanked Wong and they walked up the stairs towards the nursery, the sounds of laughter and excited screaming increasing in frequency. She quickly hid behind Stephen as they came to the door.
As soon as they saw Stephen, Billy and Tommy dropped their toys and gave out shouts of pure joy seeing their father.
“Mama, Papa here!!” They toddled excitedly towards Stephen, as fast as their little legs could go.
At that moment, Wanda jumped from behind Stephen towards them,
“WEEEEEEEE…I’m coming to get you!!”
The twins let out shrieks of laughter as they tried to outrun Wanda and her outstretched hands but ultimately resulted in Wanda grabbing the two and smothering them in kisses.
The laughter intensified as the twins tried to escape her loving hold and her kisses. Stephen looked at them fondly, his heart swelling with love. Wanda let them go and they immediately toddled over to Stephen. Stephen dropped to his knees, engulfed the giggling duo in a hug and lifted them up.
Billy and Tommy began babbling in their toddler language, busy telling their parents what they had done. The parents patiently listened, nodding and praising whenever appropriate.
When Stephen suggested they go and get ice cream, the evident joy was deafening.
