You’re It For Me, Baby.

Chapter 1: Chapter One

Chapter Text

It’s a boring Wednesday night when it happens. Katsuki’s completing some paperwork he’d pushed to the last minute, figuring he’ll just rush it now and let Izuku look over it later. His office phone goes off and Katsuki picks it up with a frown. People didn’t usually think of calling him when they think of calling the Wonder Agency.

“DynaMight speaking,” He says into the receiver.

“Ah, Bakugou-san,” Eri says in his ear. That raises Katsuki’s eyebrows. She was over at a drug bust with Deku tonight and Eri is good at handling situations, preferring to not ‘trouble’ others with any problems. The kid is damn good at it too, if he says so himself, so Katsuki already knows something’s up.

“What’s wrong?”

“The drug raid went perfectly as planned and no one’s injured,” that puts his nerves to ease by just a bit. The grey haired girl continues, “But Deku-niichann’s um…”

“He’s what?”

“De-aged.”

”What?”

After Eri tells him that the attacker’s been apprehended but his quirk sent people to the age that they think was their worst. Katsuki puts the phone off after asking for the coordinates, he prefers not to talk while flying. On his way there, he thinks of what might be Izuku’s worst age and is horrified because what if Izuku turned thirteen or fourteen? Back when Katsuki bullied him? Before he got his quirk? The only one Katsuki can take him to then will be his mother.

“He’s in the medical van, the nurse told me he just woke up,” Eri informs him when he lands at the sight of her horn and grey hair. He nods and steps into the van where Deku is. Katsuki thanks all the gods he doesn’t believe in when he sees that the greenett isn’t in his pre-UA age. His costume fits a little loose over him, Izuku’s grown a lot in the past.

“Kacchan?” he asks upon seeing Katsuki. He looks relatively fine except for a few scratches here and there.

Katsuki asks for a little privacy to talk to his hero partner and the others step out of the van. Katsuki sighs and sits down on the stretcher beside Deku and the boy stares at him without blinking.

“Kacchan, where am I?”

Katsuki explains the situation to him and finds out that Izuku is nineteen as of now.

“I didn’t understand how you’d changed so much in just two months.” He’d gone back to the time he’d followed All Might’s footsteps to shift to America for a year.

Katsuki doesn’t understand why that was his lowest point but he’s got a week to ask him that. They have to climb into Eri’s car to get back to the agency and Izuku almost bursts into tears at seeing the girl.

“You grew up so well! And you’re working with me?” Katsuki exasperatedly watches Izuku fawn over her. Izuku sits in the backseat and Eri lets the blond drive, preferring to take a nap while his husband mutters a mile a minute behind them.

Izuku has, surprisingly, kept all his questions to himself by the time Katsuki leads him to the other’s office, gives him a pair of his clothes from the locker room and tells him to change so they can go home. Before Katsuki can leave him alone to change, the nerd calls out to him.

“Um Kacchan? Is this…” He lets it hang while showing him the ring around his neck, hanging from a silver necklace.

“That’s your fucking wedding band, yes.”

Izuku looks very taken aback by the news and a lot of conflicting emotions pass on his face before he settles on asking him a meek, “who?”

“Who else, nerd. You’re married to me,” Katsuki says, pulling own his own platinum band from under his collar.

”What? How?”

“We’ll talk later. Get dressed, we’ve got to head home.”

Izuku looks like he has a lot to say, which he always does, but he keeps his mouth closed for once, very surprised by the news, and follows Katsuki’s words.

Katsuki stands outside the door and Deku comes out dressed in the mint green sweatshirt and black sweats that he’d given him, follows him to the cellar and Katsuki pulls their car out, letting the nerd climb into the seat beside him as he starts driving. Their home is a bit of a drive away from the city so they have time to spare.

“Shoot,” The explosive blond says when they get onto the road.

“Huh?”

“You have a lot to say, don’t you? Just get it on with, nerd. It’ll be a while before we reach home.”

“Oh,” Izuku says and pauses for a moment before he says, “How?”

“How what”

“How did we get together?” Of course that’s his first question.

“After you got back to Japan, Mina bullied me into getting over my shit and I asked you out.” He can feel Izuku staring at him, “What?” he asks when the other doesn’t say anything back.

“It’s just… you called her Mina,” Izuku points out.

“Yeah, well, Aizawa forced me to go to therapy and anger management,” Katsuki says as if that explains it all. Izuku shuts up again, staring ahead with focused eyes.

“What, the idea of getting married me to repulses you so much that you shut up?”

Izuku sputters, “K-Kacchan! I, no. It’s- oh my god,” The nerd fumbles over his words and Katsuki suppresses a chuckle, this is still his Izuku.

“Chill, I was joking. I know you’ve had a crush on me since highschool. Tch. Embarrassing,” Katsuki teases with a smile.

“You always knew?” Izuku asks in a small voice.

“You said it in your wedding vows. Besides, it isn’t like those feelings weren’t reciprocated. And why the fuck are you being so awkward? I’m not going to bite you for talking.”

“You just look so…”

“You can say hot, I promise not to get mad.” Izuku flushes pink at that.

“Kacchan!” Izuku sputters again, “No! I mean, not that you don’t but you’ve always been hot and oh my god I didn’t just say that out loud. Oh god, I’m just going to shut up now.” He covers his blushing face with his hands and groans into them.

There’s the boy Katsuki was looking for, he laughs while speeding down the road that’s barely occupied by any other vehicles.

“Thanks, nerd.” Izuku stares at him again and Katsuki once again realizes just how much he’s changed since highschool. Katsuki knows how weird it must feel to see him act this way, he knows he was a Grade A asshole.

When they reach their destination, Izuku is once again surprised at the size of their two floored house, he thinks he sees his eyes tear up but he doesn’t mention it.

He drops their bags near the door, turns to Izuku standing beside him stiffly and says, “I’m going to go take a quick shower. Do whatever you want, I don’t care. I’ll cook after I’m done.” He hurries into the bedroom to grab a change of clothes after that, letting Izuku settle down.

When he comes back from the shower, hair dripping onto his shirt, he sees Izuku sitting on the couch with his eyes closed.

“Oi, did you fall asleep? Eat dinner and then I’ll let you sleep.”

Izuku rubs his eyes and follows him into the kitchen. “Can I help?”

“Just sit your ass down, Deku.” Izuku obediently takes a seat at their kitchen table, rests his head on his crossed arms and watches Katsuki make dinner. Katsuki ties his apron and gets started on the Katsudon, figuring he might as well try to cheer Izuku up. He isn’t fazed by the staring in the slightest. The nerd does that every morning and every night, it's his normal.

“Hey Kacchan?” Katsuki hums to let him know that he has his attention. “Do you do this everyday?”

“You mean cook? Yeah. Can’t risk you accidentally poisoning us.” Katsuki carefully places the cutlets in the skillet.

“I’m not that bad,” He can hear the pout in Izuku’s voice so he informs him that yes, he is, in fact that bad.

“What’re you making?”

“Katsudon.”

“Oh! I missed Kacchan’s Katsudon so much back in America.” That brings a faint smile to Katsuki’s face and he’s soon done, placing a bowl in front of Izuku and one in front of his own chair. Katsuki pulls out one of Izuku’s favorite excessively sweet lime sodas.

“Dig in,” He says, taking a seat and breaking open his chopsticks and Izuku digs in like he’s been famished for ages. Katsuki laughs at him and the boy flushes, eating a little slowly. He compliments the food and fights Katsuki over who gets to do the dishes. Katsuki shuts him up and does them because he can see how distressed Izuku already is.

After that’s done, Katsuki sends the weirdly quiet boy to the shower and places a fresh set of clothes on the bed for when he comes out. Izuku is done very quickly.

“Take the bed, I’m going to sleep on the couch.”

“But Kacchan! I can’t let you do that, I’ll sleep on the couch.”

Katsuki sighs exasperatedly, pushes Izuku to sit on the bed by his shoulders.

“Stay and go to sleep. I’m taking the couch and you don’t have a choice. Wake me up if you need anything.” Katsuki stares at him til the greenett nods at him then picks up his pillow, a spare blanket and leaves. He turns the lights down on his way out of the room and sees Izuku climb into bed and under the sheets.

“Goodnight, Kacchan.”

“Night, Izuku.”

Katsuki wakes up to the alarm he’d set before falling asleep. He knew Izuku wouldn’t wake him up for shit and he had to check up on him somehow. He turns the alarm off and of course he finds Izuku sitting up in bed.

“Izuku?” His voice is raspy from sleep but the younger looks up at him anyway. He looks like he’s been crying. He has his bottom lip pulled between his teeth and he’s hugging the pillow like his life depends on it.

Katsuki sits down at the foot of the bed. “Nightmare?” He asks. Izuku softly sniffs and nods.

“Can you tell me what it was about?” Katsuki asks patiently.

Izuku plays with his fingers when he answers with a teary voice, “the war, again.”

He can see Izuku’s nails digging into his own palms, so he gently grabs his hand and pulls, “Come here.” Izuku comes willingly and Katsuki guides him into his lap, rubs his back comfortingly. “It’s okay, I got you.” Izuku shudders, trying to hold it all in. “You can let go, baby. I’m right here,” he says, guiding Izuku’s face towards his neck.

That breaks the dam and Izuku sobs in his arms. “Oh, baby.” Katsuki kisses the top of his head, the broken sounds breaking something inside him. It takes a while for Izuku’s cries to die down.

“There you go, better now?” Izuku’s arms loosen around Katsuki’s shoulders and he pulls a hand back to wipe at his nose.

“I’m sorry for that.”

“I’ve seen you go through worse, I don’t mind.”

“Thank you, Kacchan. It just… got so much worse after I moved to the states. It was all so… lonely and I didn’t know anyone.” Katsuki hums.

“You’re alright now. Settle back down, I’ll get you some water.”

Katsuki gets up before Izuku can complain and gets him the promised glass of water. It’s taken by the other gratefully. “Can you stay?” Izuku asks after placing the empty glass on their bedside table.

Katsuki gets his pillow from the couch, tells Izuku to scoot over and gets under the sheets. He turns to Izuku and reaches an arm out because he knows what the nerd wants.

“C’mere, baby.” Izuku shuffles closer and Katsuki gently wipes at the underside of his eyes. “Sleep,” he says with a kiss placed on Izuku’s forehead.
