Work Text:
Tuesdays and Thursdays used to be Eggman’s favourite days because he knew exactly where to find Stone. The cafe in the village where he’d be brewing coffees. He was thoroughly infatuated and spent those days trying to get to know Stone. As well as pondering how to ask him out. When he finally did and Stone said yes he was bursting with joy.
After a few months, Eggman nervously invited Stone to live with him, which was met with extreme enthusiasm from Stone.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are Eggman’s least favourite days now. He has three hours less Stone time and he doesn’t know how to fill it. Nor does he want to fill it. He desperately wants to head down to the village and linger by Stone’s side as he serves coffee to the villagers. But he reminds himself that Stone likes to have alone time every now and then. So instead he floats around his lab, poking at badniks or laying on the floor and staring at the ceiling, thinking about how tightly he’s going to squeeze Stone into a hug when he gets back.
When his daydream is interrupted by the whirr of the front doors opening Eggman shoots up from the floor, watching the corridor and waiting for a sign of Stone's return.
“Eggy, I’m home!” Stone says, voice as cheery as usual.
Eggman scrambles to his feet to greet Stone. He rushes down the corridor and turns the corner to the front door, spotting Stone as he locks the door behind him.
“Stone!” Eggman’s enthusiasm, impossible to contain, has him lunging at Stone, wrapping him in a bear hug from behind.
Stone giggles and places his hands over Eggman’s as he's smothered in sloppy kisses.
“Losen your grip, sweetheart,” Stone laughs and turns in Eggman’s hug when he complies.
He cups Eggman’s face in his hand and plants a small kiss on his cheek.
“Did you miss me?” Stone smiles slyly.
“Obviously,” Eggman breathes out, resting his forehead on Stone’s and brushing their noses together.
They stand still, Eggman holding onto Stone tightly hoping to keep him close forever. Stone’s hands rest on Eggman’s chest until he gets an idea and pulls back slightly, moving his hands to Eggman’s arms.
“How about we watch that episode of Dancing with the Robots you missed?” Stone suggests.
“Can I lay in your lap?” Eggman asks.
“Of course, Eggy my love,” Stone smiles. “Want me to make some popcorn?”
“No,” Eggman shakes his head. “I’d rather have my hands free to hold yours.”
“That sounds nice.”
The show only went for 20 minutes but their whole afternoon was spent on the couch, ending in Stone laying on Eggman as they drifted to sleep.
