Work Text:
Abdul and Polnareff were sleeping peacefully, Polnareff's arm around Abdul's waist, his legs entwined with the other's, white chocolate hair fused with dark chocolate hair, warm breaths on the back of the Egyptian's neck, tons of sheets and pillows, untidy bedroom, et cetera. Everything was well enough. Until Iggy came out of nowhere and hopped on the bed and started barking obnoxiously.
Of course, Polnareff is a heavy sleeper, but Abdul isn't. Amber eyes crack open, Muhammed sits up and lazily rubs his left eye, he couldn't move thanks to Polnareff's entire limbs bundled around his body. Iggy was still barking. He gets cranky when he's hungry, Iggy's just like Polnareff in a way. Annoying but Abdul loves him nonetheless.
"Alright, Alright ..." He groans.
Abdul piles out of bed and the Terrier follows him, he heads to the kitchen and grabs the dog food from the cabinet, and pours some on the dog's bowl. — As Iggy enjoys his meal, Muhammed revers their garden outside their kitchen window. Him and Polnareff would always take great care of the flower bed, like the flowers are their children. — Speaking of children, Abdul always wonders how life would be like if they had kids. He never talked about the situation with his husband, he just kept it to himself. He doesn't even know if Polnareff likes kids or not. Just imagining Polnareff as a proud father is an an adorable sight, laughing and playing around with their nonexistent kids.
Abdul clicks out of his fantasy and plans to water the plants before taking a shower. He grabs the watering pot and fills it with water, the Egyptian leads to their grand nursery. Beautiful summer flowers; Marigolds, Asters, Lantanas, Hibiscuses and so, so much more. — Just as he waters their beloved flowers, he talks to them, well he does that often. Abdul gets lonely pretty easily but is good at hiding it, he talks to flowers, animals, even his Tarot cards. Well, Polnareff knows about this whole talking to inanimate things case but he doesn't mind, he spies on Abdul talking to whatever he's talking to. — But he's not here to do that, he's still sleeping.
"Look at all of you ... you look so pretty today, sorry Polnareff's not here right now, that idiot's still sleeping. I'll wake him up for you, ok? But right after I take a shower." He cheered.
After he was done watering the flowers, he headed back inside and went upstairs to the bathroom.
—
"Mmrhh ... Mmmomo ... ??" Jean groaned.
He tried budging out of bed to look for his Momo, but that took a lot of effort from him. An agonizing headache immediately hit him. Another grunt escaped from his lips, his throat felt painfully dry. Abdul's not gonna like this ... He gave up on trying to get out of bed and collapsed back down on the sheets.
"Uggghhh .... Mm—mmooomooo ...." He couldn't call out his name either, he was too exhausted.
A couple minutes later and Muhammed finally left the bathroom, and moved to the bedroom. Polnareff's eyes snapped and he was relieved to find his husband.
"You finally woke up, sleepyhead." The dark haired said as he planted a soft kiss on the other's forehead. And Polnareff grasped his arm. It was weak, so Abdul managed to move away.
"Dooon't ... goo ..." Pol grunted.
"Are you alright love? Your voice sounds strange." Directly getting concerned about his husband. He placed the back of his hand on the other's forehead and it was hot. Alright, time to panic.
"Oh god, you're burning up. How're you feeling? Anything strange? Does anything hurt? Please tell me, ya 'albi." He overreacted, which caused a croaky snicker out of the Frenchie. An idea flicked on in his head.
"Oh mon chéri ... I don't think I can feel my legs!" The Frenchman answered while hiding his face with the back of his hand dramatically, he knows Abdul gets nervous over the smallest and stupidest things. — Abdul's eyes widen.
"J—!"
"I can see little angels!" He exclaimed, interrupting the other. Muhammed believed him for a second but figured out it was bullshit.
"Jean!" Polnareff giggled.
"It's fine, mon amour. It's just a cold, y'know." Saying that didn't really calm Abdul down. He got up and promptly opened their closet to look for clothes. — After he was done changing, he cupped Pol's cheek and said ;
"I'm gonna make you breakfast, alright? You'll be alright, love." Polnareff rolled his eyes at the statement.
"I know dummy." Yeah, Polnareff's mood changes quick whenever he's sick. — Abdul left the room and ran downstairs. Iggy noticed the Egyptian looking like he's in a hurry, he didn't need to figure out what's going on anyway, he knows that Pol's sick. — While Momo was making breakfast for his husband, Jean was trying to get out of bed. But he's failing, his headache was too much for him to bear.
"Shit ..." He spat out, Jean was a whole mess, he won't stop shivering either. He situated two palms on the side of the bed and pushed himself up, once he got himself standing on both feet, he was shaking. God, he felt like he was walking on a rope. He was too exhausted to move, but he didn't give up, eventually, he grasped on their closet handle and took a brief hiatus before finally walking outside the room. His left arm was sheltering his abdomen, he felt so weak. He was so weak. Abdul is not gonna like this at all. — Abdul was almost done with breakfast, he just needed to add the finishing touch and take it to his husband. Once he was finished, he held the plate to walk upstairs, but instead he found the silver-haired attempting to walk.
"Jean! Why are you up?!" The Egyptian cried. Jean looked up at him and his face twisted into an irritated frown.
"What, you want me to stay in bed all day? I'm not a fucking child, Muhammed." The Frenchman complained. The other man looked away for a split second and went to set the pancakes back down on the kitchen counter. — He came back and tried to support Polnareff on getting downstairs.
"Easy, don't hurt yourself." The shorter man murmured. His left hand was softly placed on the Frenchie's chest, and the right was on his back, his delicate, curly hair was getting all over on Polnareff's face, which usually, Jean likes it. He always loved playing with Abdul's locks, but right now, he isn't in the mood for anything, really. So, Polnareff, being the arrogant little bitch that he is, kicked up a fuss over it.
"Get your fucking hair out of my face! You want me to fall? Fucking hell." Jean opposed. — Muhammed looked up and immediately pulled away.
"No— No of course I don't want you to fall! I'm sorry, I didn't notice .." His voice trailed into a sad whisper.
Once they got down, Polnareff let go and laid down on the sofa, Abdul noticed he was shivering, so he fled upstairs again to get a blanket. He came back to cover his beloved but Polnareff protested.
"Get that shit away from me!" Jean bluntly whacked away Momo's hand,
"But you're shaking!"
"I don't care!"
Abdul sighed and put it on the sofa just in case he wants it. He went back to the kitchen and grabbed the coffee and pancakes. He sat next to him and brought up the plate. The pancakes were drizzled with strawberry syrup and fresh berries on the crest. They were Polnareff's favorite. — Muhammed sliced a sample of the pancake and pointed it to Jean's pale lips. Hoping he would eat,
"I made your favorite, come on or the food'll get cold." He mentioned with a forced smile. Despite the 'happy' expression, his eyes were sad. Polnareff's face twisted into a grimace.
"Seriously, pancakes? You think I'm in the mood for fucking pancakes?" Jean snarled, Abdul blinked and lowered the fork.
"But you like them—!" He paused for a few moments and a heavy exhale found its way out of his mouth, then he continued. "I'm sorry, I should've made something else ... but I got a call from Jotaro and Kakyoin, they wanted me for something."
"Why do they want you anyway?" Jean dully asked.
"I'm not sure but I tried to tell them that I couldn't come since you're—"
"Go." Jean interrupted.
"What? But what about—"
"Go! Goddamn, it'd be better if you left anyway, I won't hear any of your nagging for a good while." His bitter voice followed into a raspy cough.
Then, Jean seized the plate and fork from Abdul and (reluctantly) began to eat. — Abdul was stunned, he didn't say anything. He just sat there staring at his husband unwillingly chew on his breakfast. What would Muhammed say anyway? The words were spinning in his head, his heart ached, he let out a shaky breath and swallowed. Abdul got up and went upstairs to change. Meanwhile Iggy observed all the drama, he never felt offended on behalf of someone. (He's a narcissistic dog for fuck's sake he never even gave a shit) But this is Muhammed Abdul we're talking about here. He's the only person who treated Iggy with care and patience, the Boston Terrier thought that all humans were useless pieces of shit but he realized that not all of them are like that.
... Except Polnareff.
He walked over to the sofa, and hopped on the sofa arm. He regarded the human being in front of him, and Polnareff took note. — They just stared at each other until Iggy started to growl, fighting the urge not to jump on him and rip his hair, — Jean looked at the dog in confusion but ignored him.
'Bastard ...' Iggy thought and leaped off of the sofa.
Polnareff instantly set down the half-empty plate and glowered. His headache had grown worse, he cussed and settled his head on his hands, til now he was still shaking but not as much as before. He hesitantly got up and went to the kitchen. The distance from the living room to their kitchen wasn't that far but it was a huge house so it did take Jean a shit ton of effort. Ultimately after arriving at the kitchen, he aggressively opened the cabinet and snatched the Aspirin, Jean opened the fridge and grabbed a water bottle, he squeezed two pills and shoved them in his mouth, water followed then.
Another journey back to the living room, praying to God this pain of a headache calms down on the way. He sat back down on the sofa and his arm flew to his eyes, trying to bear the pain. Eventually, Abdul came downstairs, looking cold-blooded. Absolute emotionlessness in his eyes, Muhammed's eyes. Polnareff has never seen anything like them before, sure, they may seem like just normal amber eyes, but it isn't really, it's hypnotizing and powerful. Either full of emotion or none at all. Strong yet gentle, his eyes show his true sentiments, Polnareff knows that his lover holds the universe in those two goldish phoenix eyes. — Polnareff eyed him until the dark-haired opened the door and left, without starting small talk or even a goodbye kiss. Iggy witnessed this, he gave Polnareff a disappointing look and walked away.
That's when Polnareff started to feel really guilty.
—
"Hey, glad to see you." Jotaro offers with a smile, Kakyoin greets Abdul while waving with a smile as well.
"Glad to see you too." Muhammed replied nonchalantly.
"You alright? You seem kind of ... sad." Kakyoin stated.
"Oh no, I'm fine." Another forced smile.
"Polnareff's sick, isn't he? Sorry we called you at an inappropriate time." JoJo replied. Abdul stays silent. He remember what Jean said to him. It stings.
'it'd be better if you left anyway, I won't hear any of your nagging for a good while.'
Muhammed sighed, Polnareff didn't want to see him right? Yeah, so he won't hear any of his nagging for a good while. Alright, fine. Anything for his husband.
"No don't apologize! Jean gets moody whenever he's sick so he would like to have some time with himself. He'll be alright." Abdul reassured.
'I made your favorite, come on the food'll get cold.'
The food did get cold, so did the coffee. — Jean kept staring at the food, he felt too guilty to eat. Iggy was asleep, it was late. Around 10:41. He didn’t want to go to sleep and wanted to wait for Abdul to come back home, but his eyelids felt too heavy. Pol got up and tried to distract himself somehow, he was feeling a bit better actually, his headache calmed down but his throat was still burning though and he was slightly shivering, but his body was still weak. At least not as much as it was before. He clasped the soft, gray blanket that he batted away from Abdul's hand, and draped it around himself. Abdul's warmth was way better than this, but Jean has to hold on to this for now. — Half an hour later, Muhammed came back. Once he unlocked the door, he spotted Polnareff making two cups of coffee. Cerulean eyes on amber's, then an apologetic smile flashed its way through Pol's face.
"... Welcome back, mon ange." The Frenchman cued in. Muhammed noticed the blanket around his lover and gulped.
"How ... how are you feeling now?" The shorter man was still hurt by the other's words but there was hope in the Egyptian's eyes regardless.
"A bit better, actually. The coffee you made went cold so I made for both of us instead."
The albino took the cups to their glass coffee table in the living room. Abdul left to change his outfit and came back. Polnareff was patiently waiting for him to be finished, not drinking his coffee until his beloved was with him. Less than five minutes and Abdul was already downstairs, he sat next to the man but didn't speak nor do anything not wanting to bother him again and make him lose his temper, mind you, til now he was still feeling uneasy about Polnareff and his nasty cold. But Jean really put him in his place. Polnareff sighed and began;
"I'm ... I'm sorry for being such a dickhead to you, mon coeur. I never meant what I said, especially when I said that it'd be better if you left— God, I don't know what I was thinking when I said that, you really don't know how sorry I am, I am so, so sorry I treated you like shit the entire time, baby." Polnareff gently held the other's soft hands and kissed them tenderly. He just wanted to hug him and kiss him and show him how much he was sorry. His fingers intertwined with the other's, his blue eyes flashed with faith on the man he loved oh so dearly. And he got to see that beautiful smile that he always loved from the Egyptian.
"You don't have to apologize, ya 'eini, I already forgave you anyway," Momo pulled his hand away and soothed Polnareff's sickly cheek.
"But—"
"Shh, forget about that now, you want to lay your head on my chest while I play with your hair? If that'll make you feel better." The brunet whispered. Polnareff gawked and a dark shade of red powdered his face, he inhaled and hastily nodded.
"Y—Yeah I would— yeah I'd love that." His eyes glimmered. Abdul snickered, Polnareff rested his head in between Abdul's (tits) chest and took in his scent, then he said;
"Thanks for the pancakes, Momo. Je t'aime de tout mon coeur." Pol said.
"Anything for you, ya rohi." Muhammed gleamed, cupped the other's chin and kissed him on the lips. Then, he attained the coffee from the table and took a sip, he placed it back down and sticked back to frolicking with the other's silvery hair. A few moments of tranquility, Jean was already starting to sleep, Abdul's warmth was definitely better than the blanket. Everything was quiet, until out of nowhere, Muhammed asked a question.
"Uhm, Jean, 'albi, what do you think of ... kids?" He nervously inquired.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean like ... would you like to have kids?"
Polnareff paused and took a good minute to really think about that question. It's not like he hated them, not at all, but it obviously is a huge responsibility to take care of a child.
"I think ..." He shrugged. "it would be amazing. Y'know? Like, I'd like to be a dad someday, just hang out with our kids and just be there for them when they need it, hah, yeah, I'd want to have a kid one day. Why are you asking though?"
Abdul traveled back to his fantasy again. Polnareff being an awesome father is something Muhammed wished to see. He then replied,
"Oh, just ... I've been thinking about that for quite a while, but I was kinda worried to ask you, I was afraid you were gonna get mad and all ..." His voice tracked into a relieved sigh.
"Aw, come on, why would I be? I even bet we're gonna be the best goddamn parents ever." The albino chuckled. The Arab giggled with him.
"Yeah, you're right, we're gonna be great one day." Jean took a taste from his coffee as well,
The two kept talking to each other until their cups were finished. And both of them peacefully sleeping, Momo's head lied on the Frenchman's, Jean's arms around Muhammed's waist and his head in his chest. The blanket, instead of being only on Polnareff, it's covered on both of them. Iggy was calmly snoozing in his little bed in the couple's bedroom. The flowers were swaying outside of their house, the warm wind of summer breezing through their well-planted flower bed.
