1.
Alejandro had woken up to an empty bed and cold covers. “Huh.” he thought. It was rare that Noah got up before him, especially considering that he would stay up late reading unless Alejandro forced him into bed for cuddles. Only half awake, he skipped his elaborate morning routine in favor of trudging down the hallway to look for his boyfriend.
“Noah?”
“Kitchen.”
Alejandro made his way to the kitchen, not expecting to see Noah so awake. He was mixing up cookie dough, making Alejandro remember he was leaving to go hang out with Owen, Izzy, and Eva. The group’s weekly “Team E-Scope Hangouts” were too much for him to handle, so he preferred staying home in peace.
“Buenos días, mi amor.”
Noah froze in place, a blush creeping up his neck.
“Mi amor, is everything alright?”
“You’ve never called me that before.”
Oh. He hadn’t, had he?
“Well, it’s true.”
Alejandro ducks to avoid Noah’s poorly thrown spatula. (Not that he had needed to, it was terribly off course.)
“I love you too.”
2.
They were lying together on the couch, with Noah’s golden retriever, Ark, curled up beneath their feet. The movie they were watching had just started the credits. Alejandro started to stretch, only to be stopped by Noah clinging to his chest.
“Noah, get up.”
In response, Noah sleepily mumbled to himself and grabbed on tighter.
“Okay then. I guess we have to do this the other way.” Alejandro thought to himself.
He picked Noah up and began walking down to their bedroom, gently getting into bed.
Brushing Noah’s hair from his face, Alejandro whispered a final, “Goodnight, mi amor,” before drifting off himself.
Noah smiled softly, then further buried himself in Alejandro’s hold.
3.
“Noah?”
“Hm?”
“Noah.”
Alejandro’s pout deepened as Noah, thoroughly engrossed in his book, continued to ignore him.
“Noaaahhhhh.” He calls, while wrapping his arms around his love. Oh. Love.
“Mi amor?”
His pout turns into a smile as he watches Noah’s face disappear behind the book as he draws it closer to hide his rather rapidly reddening face.
“ I knew that would get your attention.”
“Shut up.”
+1
Fuck. Once again, the eel had managed to render him speechless. Come on, how was it possible that Alejandro could smooth talk him into becoming a blushing mess so easily?
Alejandro, acting as if he didn’t just turn Noah’s brain to mush, turned back to the episode of trashy reality tv that was playing in the background.
“God, how do you even watch that? Those contestants have a combined IQ lower than Lindsay’s.”
“Mi amor, you don’t get it. It’s fun.”
“Oh sure, probably just as fun as our reality tv show.”
“Did you know that mess got renewed for another season?”
Noah shudders. “Ugh. If those contestants choose to sign up for their demise, I have no urge to stop them.”
Soon after, they slipped into a comfortable silence.
Noah was going in between reading his book and thinking about the rest of his day. “I should call Amma. Maybe Subhi and Aadhav too? Avargal kitta pēsi konja nēram aachu. Nān inru apparōmā pēsuvēn.”
“Mi amor?”
“Enna, en kaadhal?”
“Huh?”
Alejandro’s confused exclamation broke Noah out of his reverie.
“Did I slip into Tamil?”
“Yes, I believe you did, Cerebrito. May I ask what exactly you said?”
“I called you en kaadhal. It means “my love”, which we can both confirm you are.”
Alejandro quickly turned away, but not before Noah caught the sappy smile and redness forming on his face.
“Did I finally manage to charm the charmer?”
“Of course, mi amor. Though I suppose you stole my heart a while ago, cerebrito.”
“Couldn’t be more glad that I did, kaadhal.”
