“BECAUSE I KNOW YOU HATE ME EVEN AFTER ALL THESE FUCKING YEARS ANNE!!!”
Marcy could hear the yelling match going on between her two partners from outside the building, the harshness in their words still echoing off the walls, bouncing between the pairs.
Marcy quickened her pace and made her way to the apartment hastily, hearing the volume increase inside. Even though she couldn't hear the whole argument she had a feeling Sasha had caused it and Anne made it worse by trying to diffuse the situation.
As she reached the door she heard a sickening crash inside and quickly turned the knob to see Sasha standing in the middle of the room her eyes unwavering from the broken glass across the room from the vase she had just thrown in Anne's direction, water and daisies delicately littering the floor as if they hadn't been launched around the room. Marcy could see her chest rise and fall as she refused to look away from the aggressive act she had just made.
Anne stood a meter away from the broken glass looking straight at Sasha with a shocked but unsurprised look on her face. Neither of her girlfriends had acknowledged Marcy entering the room so she stood in the door way holding tightly on to her bag, unsure which partner she should check up on. Until she saw a small cut on Anne's cheek start to dribble with blood.
"Oh Jesus" she whispered as she threw her bag on the ground and shut the door before heading to Anne and placing her hand on her cheek, feeling to see if there was any shards left in the cut.
That's when Anne finally saw past her gaze on Sasha and realized Marcy had walked in on her intense fight with the blonde.
"Mars" she let out softly moving her girlfriends hand from her cut cheek and wrapping her other arm around her pulling her tighter towards her, turning her head to look back at a shaken up Sasha,
The blonde had obviously realised Marcy was in the room as well and had dropped her hands limply by her side and was watching the other two as they embraced each other, Marbles checking in on Anne's cut, the cut that she had just made from her passionately throw.
"Marcy" Sasha let out dryly taking a step forward trying to think of an explanation of why she violently threw the vase across the room with flowers the trio had picked the days beforehand together.
"Don't" Anne let out sharply causing Sasha stop in her tracks. "Just stay there Sasha" she continued as she moved away from Marcy's grip and turned her back to leave the room, the silence was deafening as Marcy trailed after her.
"Anne, what happened are you guys okay" Marcy asked quietly off in the other room, Sasha could barely hear Anne's reply but she heard it still "I don't think she's been taking her meds" there were some hushed whispers that Sasha couldn't make out but anger started to bubble within her.
Is that what Anne thought she was? Some nutjob that needs to rely on her meds to function and if she's upset it's because she hasn't been taking her medication. In an impulsive action Sasha stomped across the room and in to the hallway Anne and Marcy had disappeared in to, stepping on the glass shards she had caused moments ago, glass sinking in to her skin through her socks, but still she continued until she found her girlfriends grabbing the dustpan and broom and the first aid box for Anne's cut.
"Is that what you think?" the blonde started angrily, her hands balling in to fits by her side. "You think I can't get upset without being off my meds? Do you think if I'm upset I must be crazy?" Her volume was increasing as she stood there, her feet starting to ache and bleed.
"Sasha that's not what we think!" Marcy started trying to move closer to the blonde but she raised her hands a took a massive step backwards looking between both girls furiously before landing her eyes back on Anne, a stern but sympathetic look was on her face and it just made Sasha feel worse, tears threatened to spill as she felt her anger dissipate in to regret
"I know you both think that so don't try and deny it Mars." The blonde took a couple more steps backwards before turning around and heading back to the main room and began cleaning up the glass from the floor, picking up the pieces one by one, cuts and scraps forming on her hands as she gathered the pieces.
"Sasha, don't you're going to cut your hands, oh shit" Anne started as she saw Sasha's hands covered in splotches of blood and her white socks starting to stain from the cuts on her feet. "Come here Sash" Marcy said as she helped Sasha move towards their bathroom, shards of glass still prickling her fingers as they made their way to the sink, when they stopped Sasha put down the glass on the bench and looked in the mirror
Her eyebags were like two hollow shells looking back at her showing the sleepless nights that had haunted her recently. She examined herself and saw her mop of blonde hair was frazzled and finally saw what Marcy and Anne must of seen. A crazy bitch who was off her meds.
Marcy softly held Sasha's hands and pulled them over the sink and turned on the water, cleaning the blood off her hands and began carefully picking out any small shards that were still stuck in the cuts. "What's going on Sash?" she let out as she continued to wash away the events that just occurred. The blonde let out a small sigh. "I'm off" she let out quietly not looking away from Marcy's hands on hers.
"Off?" The black hair girl questioned turning off the sink and grabbing some bandages from the first aid box she had brought with her. "You guys are right. I'm not taking my meds" she responded as Marcy wrapped her hands up and fastening them keeping them in place.
Marcy then motioned for Sasha to jump up on the side of the bench without the glass on it and she complied, not having the strength to argue anymore.
"Why are you off them Sash? You know why you have to-" "I know" Sasha snapped stopping Marcy mid sentence, she looked up at Sasha and slowly removed her blood soaked socks and placed her feet awkwardly in the sink, cleaning off shards of glass from her feet. Luckily her socks stopped most of the little bits from getting stuck but there were still lots of little cuts on the bottom of her soles now.
"My head had to be clear just for today mars" the blonde finally spoke up and cut the silence. "You don't know how truly numbing it can be to be on a different pill for every emotion you feel" Sasha leaned against the mirror and let Marcy take care of the cuts scattering across her body. "I know I'm a disgusting person without them but I don't know, a part of me thought I wouldn't be able to lie next to Anne and know that that person is completely gone."
Marcy hummed in response as she turned off the tap again and patted Sasha's feet dry, there wasn't anymore bleeding like her hands so she left them unwrapped and held out a hand for Sasha to get off the sink, but she just used her arms and heaved herself down.
"I need to apologize to Anne alone Marbles." The blonde said as she gave her girlfriend a peck on the cheek and walked out of the room to go and find Anne.
Marcy stood in the room a little confused but let the blonde walk away. Sasha was mentally ill and there wasn't anyone that could help her apart from herself.
Marcy let out a soft noise, not a sigh just a noise before going to the cupboard and grabbing some gloves to grab the glass Sasha had brought with her, she scooped it up and placed in in the trash they kept in the bathroom, she then grabbed the entire bag, putting her gloves in there too, tied it up and began to walk towards the lounge room where she heard soft speaking.
Marcy decided to stay in the hallway, to not disturb their conversation. Although she didn't know what happened, Sasha and Anne always had an argument or a fight every year on this day, July 12th. Marcy should have known something might have happened.
Even though Marcy didn't know what happened, she knew it was from Amphibia and she knows that Sasha wants to talk about it and Anne would rather forget about it.
"I don't think it'll scar" Sasha let out quietly.
She was currently standing against the wall near the door, with a relaxed posture of someone who hadn't just thrown a vase and Anne was sitting on the couch with her hands in her lap. A worried and complex thought on her face as she stared at Sasha.
"I think we have a vase somewhere in the garage we can get out for new flowers" the blonde continued trying to fill the space in an attempt to cut the tenseness.
"And I could go tomorrow and pick some-" "Why do you always act like this on this day" Anne cut her off. Looking straight in to her soul and leaving Sasha with a shiver travelling down her spine.
"Going off your meds isn't an excuse for you to act like this" She continued before breaking eye contact "I know today's hard and just seeing me is hard for you but you can't go off your meds and expect me to accept your abuse"
Abuse was a harsh word and Anne wished she could take it back but the words had escaped her mouth and was in the air now. Sasha nodded, taking in every word not looking away from her girlfriend, her hands picking the bandages Marcy had just laid.
"I know. I know it's not fair" Sasha spoke, trying to keep her composure with tears threatening to spill again. "I'm going to go for a walk. I'll sleep on the couch tonight. I'm sorry" She let out and turned to the door, opening it and walking out in to the evening, with no shoes or socks she quickly walked out of the complex and started to walk down the street, thinking of every decision she made today and what she'll have to do tomorrow to make up for it.
And she kept walking, listening to the sounds of the city, with tears finally streaming down her face.
